Jared Dudley to start over Nene tonight
Jared Dudley will start at PF tonight against the Pistons. While Nene saw ample run last night (compared to his usual minutes load) against a big Utah front-court, Dudley will get the start tonight with the Pistons starting the undersized Anthony Tolliver at PF. Dudley isn’t a strong DFS option since he’s routinely underperformed despite playing huge minutes on occasion – with 14 games on tonight’s slate, he’s an easy fade.
Markieff Morris to be active and available to play tonight
Markieff Morris will be likely making his Wizards debut off the bench tonight. Morris is a tournament option only since his minutes are not guaranteed. Morris will likely have to get a practice a bit more before he is named the starter. Morris will need over 32 FPs tonight to exceed value, making him a risky DFS play.

In an effort to counter the Bucks size, Frank Kaminsky will start at PF on Friday. This does make Kaminsky an intriguing punt play, but be wary as he’s still not likely to see big minutes since this move isn’t due to injuries. However, his outlook would improve quite a bit if Marvin Williams is ruled out (he’s still questionable). Spencer Hawes is also out tonight, but Al Jefferson’s return means that doesn’t really help Kaminsky’s DFS outlook.

Kevin Martin (wrist) will be available to play tonight
Kevin Martin is available tonight against the Grizzlies. The Wolves as a whole are a risky target, with Gorgui Dieng and Karl-Anthony Towns being the only viable options on that side of the ball. Dieng has a solid match-up as the PF against an undersized Zach Randolph, while Towns will benefit immensely from Marc Gasol’s absence. Towns is a very nice tournament play that should be lightly owned due to his price increase and tough on-paper match-up. Dieng is probably the better $/point target for cash games, but avoiding the Wolves is probably wise in terms of H2H/50-50 contests.

Scott Skiles is one of the most frustrating parts about DFS because you never know when he may have a mood swing and decide to pull a complete lineup change. You never know what you are going to get from Mr. Skiles, but what we do know is that the Magic just got rid of Tobias Harris. This should solidify Aaron Gordon’s role at PF and he has shown tremendous upside when he is given the minutes. Hopefully we can count on Gordon being locked in to 30+ minutes for tonight, making him a great high-upside option in an even better matchup vs. Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks. Gordon is a viable cash game option as well as a tournament option, but PF is very deep tonight and there are a lot of options at that position. Maybe this leads to a lower ownership percentage for Gordon and we can reap the benefits.
Justise Winslow expected to start for the injured Chris Bosh
With Chris Bosh out indefinitely and Hassan Whiteside suspended tonight, Justise Winslow is expected to start. Winslow should see about 28-32 minutes, yet has not provided much value so far this season when given extended minutes. Dwyane Wade is also a game-time decision, so if he misses Winslow’s value would go up a ton. For now, Luol Deng is a better forward option tonight.

Gary Neal will be missing another game due to his leg injury. Garrett Temple started the last game for the Wizards while Bradley Beal came off the bench. It could be the same again tonight but Temple is still not a DFS option. He played 29 minutes last night and was only able to score 4 points on 1-7 shooting. Beal is a better option, but he is a risky play off the bench and would only be recommended if he was to start.

Rudy Gobert really doesn’t get the love he deserves in the daily fantasy industry and he normally gets overlooked. He gets ignored sometimes which leads to a depressed ownership percentage, but he will likely be a popular option tonight vs. a Boston frontcourt that really can’t defend very well. Gobert had an excellent game last night posting his third straight double-double and his eighth in the last ten games. He has had some big games dating back before the All-Star Break and has actually been very consistent, playing over 30 minutes in every game over the last few weeks. The best part is, his price really hasn’t risen that much at all and he sits at only $6,700 on DraftKings and $7,400 on FanDuel. He is a slightly better play on DraftKings, but he is also a great option on FanDuel as well to fill in your center position. Look for Gobert to have another solid night tonight and could be a staple in your cash games.
C.J. Watson expected to play tonight
C.J. Watson has missed 44 straight games with a calf injury but looks to play tonight against the Mavs. Watson is a low-end DFS option and should not be considered tonight. The return of Watson plus the possible debut of PG Brandon Jennings makes Elfrid Payton a low-end PG option tonight as well. With Scott Skiles known for his terrible rotations, avoid this situation tonight.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will be back in the lineup tonight for the Pistons and will likely resume his starting position. This should send Stanley Johnson back to the bench, making him an over-priced option tonight. KCP will likely play over 30 minutes tonight and should be able hit value. With the addition of Tobias Harris to the team, Caldwell-Pope’s upside could be limited for now.

Harris is going to come off the bench tonight, but he’s still going to play “a lot” according to Stan Van Gundy. It’s hard to define “a lot” in terms of minutes, but we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him eclipse 28-30 minutes of court time. He’s a risky GPP target tonight but he is a contrarian option on sites where he carries a modest price tag ($5,500 on FanDuel, where you have to roster two SFs). Anthony Tolliver will start at PF tonight but he isn’t a DFS option.

Both Omri Casspi and Marco Belinelli are doubtful for tonight’s game with the Nuggets. The Kings will be pretty thin at the wing spots, so expect big minutes for Rudy Gay while Ben McLemore, James Anderson and Darren Collison are all candidates to see an uptick in playing time. McLemore hasn’t officially been deemed “in” for tonight, but it’s looking like he’s going to suit up and would likely see minutes in at least the mid-twenties if he’s active. Cousins, Rondo and Gay are the DFS options on the Sacramento side.

Goodwin is expected to remain the starter at PG tonight despite Ronnie Price’s expected return. While Goodwin isn’t necessarily a true PG, he’s performed admirably with both Knight and Price out of the lineup and has seemingly earned the right to start until Knight returns. We can’t expect 38+ minutes with Price active, but Goodwin should still see upwards of 28-30 minutes as the starter and he has a very good draw against a Rockets team that has struggled mightily with opposing PGs. He’s a tournament play at best, but one with some upside in a fast-paced game.

With Austin Rivers out, Prigioni has assumed the backup PG duties behind Chris Paul. While he’s obviously not a DFS option, his absence could lead to even bigger minutes for either Chris Paul or Jamal Crawford, as they are the only other viable point guard options on the team. We’ll update Prigioni’s status before tomorrow’s game.

Darrell Arthur has been upgraded to probable for tonight’s game with the Kings. He’s not a DFS option with the Nuggets front-court healthy – he’ll just act as insurance behind Kenneth Faried. Expect Arthur to slot back into the 15-20 minute range with Faried and the three centers all active. None of the members of Denver’s front-court are recommended DFS options.
