It would be a "stretch" for Carlos Hyde to play this week
49ers Head Coach Chip Kelly does not seem confident that his starting RB will be able to play this week as he told media that it would be a stretch for him to play. That leaves Mike Davis and Shaun Draughn as the two primary backs for the team in their match up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Draughn should get most of the passing down work and is a viable option on PPR sites as the Bucs are 30th in DVOA for RB Pass. It’s a bit tougher match up for Mike Davis, who will likely get the early down work as Tampa has traditionally been tougher against the run. We’ll keep you updated on the 49ers RB situation heading into this weekend as more news becomes available.

Will Fuller returns to practice
The Texans rookie WR should be good to go after being limited last week. Perhaps he’d be better off taking another week off though as the Texans face the elite pass defense of the Broncos. Fuller is nothing more than a contrarian play this week given that match up.

The Giants star WR is dealing with abdominal pain and a hip injury but it’s not believed to be too serious and he should be able to go when his team takes on the Rams in London this Sunday morning.

Ravens QB Joe Flacco has a shoulder injury and did not practice today. Head Coach Jim Harbaugh stated that he has a legitimate shot to play on Sunday but was not sure what the percentage was for that – seems as if there is some chance he might not play which is something to keep an eye on as the Ravens have a plus match up against a Jets team that is dead last in Pass DVOA. Ryan Mallett would be the QB option if Flacco can’t go and would be in play as a value QB option if that were to happen.

Two of the top receiving threats did not practice for the Bills today but they are expected to be fine and will be able to play this week when they travel to play the Dolphins.

The talented Browns WR is dealing with a hamstring injury and did not practice today. He told media that he is doing everything he can in order to play this week against the Bengals. Seems as if he is questionable in what would be a tough match up (Cincy is #4 in WR1 DVOA). Andrew Hawkins and Ricardo Louis would benefit if he can’t go (Gary Barnidge probably gets a bump too). We’ll keep you updated on Pryor’s status.

Colts Head Coach Chuck Pagano stated that Dwayne Allen is week-to-week and unlikely to play this week. He’d been splitting targets with Jack Doyle who should see significant volume against the Titans this week. It’s not the worst match up as the Titans rank 14th in TE DVOA and at or near minimum price across the industry he makes for a great value TE options this week. Pagano also announced that Phillip Dorsett is day-to-day – he should be fine to play this week.

The veteran Ravens WR missed last week’s game and is looking as if he might miss this week as well as he continues to not practice. Kamar Aiken benefits the most from his absence but others like Breshad Perriman and Mike Wallace also should have more targets come their way. All three are in play facing a Jets defense that is dead last in Pass DVOA.

It was initially thought that Big Ben might be able to return after the Steelers bye week next week but reports have come out stating that he will need additional time and will be out for 4-6 weeks now. It’s a big blow for the Steelers offense and most notably fantasy stalwarts Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown as they are not the same with Landry Jones at the helm. The team faces the Patriots this week and are priced as if Big Ben was still the QB making them easy fades this week. There is some talk of being able to roster the two at low ownership (which is true) but their upside is limited given the match up and talent at QB.

Sources have stated that the Jets will name Geno Smith their starting QB today as the team prepares to play the Baltimore Ravens. It’s a tough opening match up for Smith as Baltimore is 6th in DVOA (14th in Pass DVOA). That said he’s $5,000 on both FanDuel and DraftKings and it’s hard to completely ignore a starting QB who has Brandon Marshall to throw to at that price point. Jimmy Smith of the Ravens got banged up last week and had to leave the game – if he can’t go, Marshall could have his way against the Ravens making Smith an intriguing option.

Jones is believed to have suffered a season-ending torn rotator cuff against the Steelers. If that’s the case, Miami could be in a lot of trouble. Beat writer James Walker thinks the whole defense may “unravel” without Jones as he was utilized in so many different ways. Miami relied on him to stop the run, lining him up as a fourth linebacker at times, and he was crucial in coverage. He was a pro-bowler in 2015 after coming down with five interceptions and placing second on the team in tackles. From a daily fantasy perspective, the Dolphins will become an even better defense to pick on without Jones. They host the Bills in Week 7, meaning LeSean McCoy will be in another excellent spot. Last week, McCoy tore apart the 49ers for 140 yards and three touchdowns. San Francisco has let up the most rushing yards per game (174.3) and second-most touchdowns (9). While Miami hasn’t allowed too many scores on the ground (only 4), they’ve allowed the second-most yards per game (147). Those numbers could trend in the wrong direction with Jones out. With the amount the Bills use McCoy inside the 20, he’s a major multi-touchdown threat against the Dolphins.

Vincent Jackson placed on IR
Jackson has a torn ACL and the Bucs have decided to place the veteran on the injured reserve. Adam Humphries is in line to pick up a bigger workload now as the number two receiver; both he and Jackson we’re tied for second on the team with 31 targets each. Tight end Cameron Brate has been the only other relevant receiving option that isn’t a running back, so he should get some extra work as well. Jameis Winston will likely rely on Mike Evans more than ever. Evans will continue to be a target monster, but will also draw even more attention from opposing defenses, making him matchup dependent. Fortunately for Evans, they play the 49ers in Week 7, a team that ranks dead last in DVOA against WR1s, according to Football Outsiders.

Knile Davis works with scout team at Packers' practice
Davis was just traded to the Packers, so it makes sense that he got eased in at practice today. With Eddie Lacy reportedly out for Thursday’s game with Chicago, there’s a chance Davis could get some snaps at running back. Having only two days to prepare with a new team is an incredibly small amout of time. However, the Packers find themselves in a desperate situation. With their only two running backs out they’re expected to play a receiver, Ty Montgomery, a lot at running back. We’ll get some more information on the situation tomorrow.

Cobb is still dealing with a back injury, but should be all set to play Chicago on Thursday. He’s had back-to-back weeks with 11 targets. Aaron Rodgers seems to be actively trying to get Cobb more involved, although Jorday Nelson is still his preferred red zone target. Nelson leads the entire NFL with 11 looks inside the 20. Chicago is very banged up in the secondary and could be without their top five corners on Thursday. It will be another nice spot for Cobb (and Jordy), especially with Davante Adams probably sidelined with a concussion.

Hyde sported a sling on his right arm while watching practice from the sidelines. He injured his shoulder during the 49ers game with the Bills on Sunday, but returned to action. We’ll know more about his playing status tomorrow. If he can go in Week 7, he’ll face a Tampa Bay rush defense that has gotten worse over the course of the year. They now rank 13th in rush DVOA and 24th in adjusted line yards per carry (4.08), per Football Outsiders. Last game they allowed back up running back Cameron Artis-Payne to score two touchdowns on them. If he’s healthy, it could be a nice spot for Hyde.
