Ryan Mathews still not practicing
The Eagles backup RB has not passed concussion protocol yet and will not practice today. There’s still plenty of time left in the week for him to get back on the playing field but it’s a situation to monitor. DeMarco Murray would continue to see the lions share of the work but Darren Sproles could make for an intriguing value play if Mathews is unable to go.

Kendall Wright expected to miss Thursday's game vs. JAC
While he hasn’t been officially ruled out, it’s looking very much like he’ll sit out on Thursday. The Titans definitely miss Wright with the general lack of talent they have at WR, and Justin Hunter’s season-ending injury doesn’t help matters. Assuming Wright is out, look for Harry Douglas and Dorial Green-Beckham to play most of the snaps on Thursday. DGB is the more exciting option in GPPs.

Texans hoping to have Brian Hoyer ready for Sunday
Hoyer was pulled from last night’s game when he told coach Bill O’Brien he was having trouble remembering the plays. The Texans are still hopeful that he’ll be able to give it a go, and the fact that they are holding off on signing a QB is a good sign that they think he’ll be ready. T.J. Yates will draw the start at QB if Hoyer can’t go. The Texans have a tough match-up all around against a stout Jets defense. Expect a heavy dose of Darrelle Revis on DeAndre Hopkins, who is in play regardless of who starts at QB. Revis didn’t give up much in terms of catches/yardage to Sammy Watkins on Thursday night, but he was beaten on multiple occasions and Hopkins is in another tier in terms of talent.

While teams from the west coast going east can be a bad recipe for fantasy success, Carr is in a nice spot in terms of his match-up this week against the Lions. He’ll get to do battle indoors which is typically good for quarterbacks, and he’ll face off with a defense that has allowed the 4th most FPs to opposing QBs this season. Detroit does have one of the league’s better corners, Darius Slay, playing on the outside, but it’s hard to say whether or not he’ll follow Amari Cooper around or if he’ll stick to one side of the field. Either way, Carr hasn’t had issues when Cooper sees additional coverage, as he’s also treating Michael Crabtree as a #1 WR in terms of targets. The Raiders have a nice team total of 24.5 and are two-point favorites in a game with a total of 48. Latavius Murray isn’t in a bad spot in his own right, but this seems to be a better spot for the passing game to lead the way.
Christine Michael cut by Cowboys
The Christine Michael era in Dallas has come to an end. Despite having all the physical tools, Michael can’t seem to put it together when his chances arise. He’ll likely be able to find his way on another roster at some point, but almost certainly wouldn’t have any DFS relevance this year. Darren McFadden will continue to see big workloads as the Cowboys workhorse for as long as he can remain healthy.

With Tony Romo back and Matt Cassel signed, the Cowboys have parted ways with Brandon Weeden. It seems definite now that Romo will get the start this week which is good news for pretty much every offensive player on the Cowboys, especially Dez Bryant and Jason Witten.

With his hamstring injury almost fully recovered it could be Keshawn Martin who benefits most from Julian Edelman’s injury. QB Tom Brady mentioned him first in a recent interview and before his injury (when Lafell was still out) Martin played in the majority of the teams two WR sets. He’ll be an intriguing value play in the high-powered Patriots offense so keep an eye out on his status for this weeks game.

If he isn’t able to go, it’ll likely mean more touches for Darren Sproles who has become kind of a forgotten man this season. Sproles would make for an intriguing GPP play if that were to happen.

Johnny Manziel has been named the Browns starting QB going forward. Manziel has shown improved play this season and definitely has upside with his legs. He also has the potential to put up a complete disaster of a game which makes him a great GPP play and a great team to roster the opposing defense when they face Manziel. While Gary Barnidge did catch a TD pass last week, this does somewhat negatively impact the TE’s value as he had a great connection with McCown.

With how poorly Nick Foles has played this season, this news isn’t all that surprising. Foles owns a QBR of just 34.1 and has a 7-6 TD/INT ratio despite playing in nine games this season, making his 2013 season in Philadelphia look much more like an anomaly. Not much changes for the Rams skill position players, as they are still fairly thin at WR and the tight ends haven’t been involved much in the passing game. Todd Gurley will continue to run wild, but he’s about the only sure thing on the St. Louis offense.

That’s never a good sign. Especially with the Jags playing on a short week (they face the Titans on Thursday), Yeldon’s status is very much in doubt given the quick turnaround. If Yeldon can’t play, Denard Robinson and Toby Gerhart would take over the backfield duties. Robinson is clearly the more exciting player and he provides a much higher ceiling than Gerhart, but Robinson wasn’t able to do much the last time Yeldon missed a game.

“He’s felling better with all those things but you don’t know until you play, got to make cuts and get moving on it.” Those aren’t terribly encouraging words from Jim Tomsula considering they are coming after the 49ers bye week. We’d still list Hyde closer to doubtful for Week 11, with Shaun Draughn likely to lead the 49ers backfield again. We’ll provide updates on Hyde’s health as the week moves along.

Romo returns just in time to try to break the Cowboys out of their 7 game losing streak. Between Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel, guys like Dez Bryant and Jason Witten have been underperforming in DFS terms thanks to a big drop off in talent at quarterback. This week may be a great time to buy low on them, as the price of both players has slowly fallen while Romo was out of action. While the Dolphins have a solid pass rush, they have some holes in the secondary and Bryant’s size may give Brent Grimes problems, so pairing up Romo with either Bryant or Witten could be a nice GPP combination that will come at a low ownership percentage.

Coach Gary Kubiak has confirmed that Peyton Manning will sit Sunday vs. Chicago, leaving Brock Osweiler as the starter. Osweiler certainly looked better than Peyton on Sunday, finishing 14-24 for 146 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. Manning played what will go down as the worst regular season game of his career, completing just 25% of his passes and throwing 4 INTs. The Broncos skill position players may not experience much of a downgrade in terms of DFS value. Osweiler’s lone TD went to Andre Caldwell, but a full week of practice with the first unit will help the outlook of Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders (if healthy).

After initial tests, it is expected that Eagles QB will miss the next two games. Mark Sanchez will get the starting nod and at his price will make for an excellent value play as the Eagles take on a Tampa Bay team very vulnerable to the pass.
