Ameer Abdullah reportedly not in Jim Caldwell's doghouse
Actions clearly speak louder than words here, and Abdullah’s workload has diminished in each of the last three games. He saw just one touch in the Lions last game against Kansas City, with Theo Riddick (11 touches) and Joique Bell (7 touches) each seeing more work. Abdullah isn’t even on the DFS radar this week against Green Bay, as the Lions will very likely be playing from behind later in the game and will be forced to turn to Theo Riddick as the pass-catching back. Riddick is a sneaky tournament target, but none of the Lions RBs are recommended DFS options.

Dez Bryant misses practice Wednesday
Dez reportedly injured his knee on his touchdown catch on Sunday night, but it doesn’t appear to be anything that will hold him out of action going forward. Bryant played through the injury against the Eagles and is fully expected to do so this week against Tampa Bay. While the Bucs secondary lacks anyone capable of slowing him down, Matt Cassel’s arm will continue to be Dez’s worst enemy. Tony Romo is expected back in Week 11 and will provide a boost to all of the Cowboys pass-catchers.

Josh McCown will practice today with limitations but his status for this weekend is still uncertain. Head Coach Mike Pettine said he’ll name a starter for this weekends game sometime tomorrow. It’s a plus match up for the Browns against a Steelers team that has had problems defending the pass.

James Starks is Packers #1 back
Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy stated in a press conference today that James Starks is their number one back heading into Detroit and that he’s earned that opportunity. No one was likely to use Eddie Lacy anyway given how he has performed this season. Starks should be highly owned in a prime match up that favors the Packers considerably in terms of game script. However, be forewarned that McCarthy did state that the Packers will still use Lacy in a 1-2 punch.

There was some hope that the veteran TE would return at some point this NFL season but those dreams are now gone as the team officially placed Pitta on season ending IR today. Crockett Gillmore will continue to be the Ravens main threat at the position.

Floyd left Monday night’s game with the injury, and with the Chargers on a bye in Week 10, he’ll have time to heal up before Week 11. The Chargers are already dealing with injuries to multiple pass-catchers, so they’ll need him healthy. In the event that he can’t play, Dontrelle Inman and Javontee Herndon would be candidates to see more snaps, although Inman is already seeing a healthy amount of playing time with Keenan Allen out.

Andrew Luck will miss the next 2-6 weeks with a lacerated kidney and partially torn abdominal muscle. Luck has dealt with some bad breaks this year, from a shaky offensive line to rumors of broken ribs, and this news comes as somewhat of a surprise after Luck was able to make it through the Colts win over the Broncos. With Luck out of action, look for Matt Hasselbeck to take the reins at QB after the Colts return from their Week 10 bye. While this news doesn’t mean much for Frank Gore, the DFS value of the WR corps (T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief, Andre Johnson) takes a hit. They are all GPP plays at best in Week 11, and are probably worth avoiding due to a capped ceiling with Hasselbeck at QB.

DeAngelo Williams, fresh off a huge game on Sunday, will miss practice on Wednesday with a foot injury. The Steelers have a great match up against the Browns this weekend so this is definitely a situation to keep a close eye on as Williams would be a great play (and likely highly owned) if he is able to go. If he isn’t able to go, Jordan Todman would become a great value play.

Two of the Bills key offensive players are limited in practice today with McCoy being the key one to worry about as Watkins was limited last week before putting up a monster game on Sunday. If McCoy can’t go, Karlos Williams would make for an intriguing GPP play but would have a tough match up against the Jets.

Former Texans kicker Randy Bullock has signed with the Jets to take over the kicking duties for Nick Folk who was injured in last weeks game. The Jets have a tough match up with the Bills this week which means there should be some opportunities for Bullock to kick some field goals. For those playing the Thursday slate, he’s an option at sites that use kickers.

The Browns QB missed practice today. It’s early in the week so it doesn’t define if he will play or not this weekend but it’s a situation to monitor. Johnny Manziel would likely get the start if McCown can’t make it. Either are intriguing options against a Steelers defense that is vulnerable to the pass.

The Bills head coach, Rex Ryan, stated this morning that McCoy is limited in practice but that he believed he would play on Thursday night against the Jets. He was, however, unsure of what his role would be. It’s a situation to keep a close eye on as his backup Karlos Williams has shown he’s more than capable of putting up some big numbers. It might just be a situation to completely fade as well with a tough match up against the Jets.

Jim Tomsula is still undecided on who will get the nod at QB after the 49ers Week 10 bye. While Blaine Gabbert was able to lead San Francisco to a win over Atlanta yesterday, Tomsula was apparently only benching Kaepernick to give him a “one game breather.” We may not have an answer on who will start until next week, but neither player is a DFS option regardless.

Stedman Bailey has been suspended four games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. This is not Bailey’s first run in with the league’s substance abuse policy, as he was also suspended in 2014, but had the ban reduced. Bailey hasn’t been a DFS option at any point this year, with Tavon Austin being the only viable target among Rams pass-catchers. That will remain the case this week against the Bears defense, which has a number of holes in the secondary. Austin is not viable outside of large-field tournaments, but his big play ability allows him to occasionally post big games without a high volume of looks.

Hurns was apparently injured on Blake Bortles’ game-ending interception, and it’s still very much unclear what his status is for Week 10. In the event that Hurns is unable to play this coming week, Allen Robinson will continue to see double-digit targets, but he’ll also likely warrant extra defensive attention if Hurns isn’t a factor. Bryan Walters would be a candidate to see more targets out of the slot.
