Sammy Watkins with a noticeable limp on Monday
This isn’t groundbreaking news a day after Watkins played at less than 100%, so we’re still taking this with a grain of salt. Watkins has been hurt for what feels like forever, and even with him coming off of one of the best performances of his young career, he’s not a strong DFS option on Thursday against the Jets defense. It’ll be surprising if Darrelle Revis doesn’t follow him around all night without much talent behind Watkins at WR.

James White to take on bigger workload with Lewis out?
With Dion Lewis out for the year, the Patriots are a little thin in terms of pass-catching/third-down backs. Brandon Bolden ate up some of the work yesterday once Lewis went down (White was a healthy scratch), but James White is expected to take on a bigger workload now that Lewis is out for the year. Lewis missed the Patriots game against the Jets a few weeks back, and while White didn’t take on a huge workload (the Pats gave their RBs just 5 combined carries the whole game), he was the leading receiver among the healthy RBs with 3-26 on 5 targets. White isn’t going to be a strong DFS option in the short-term, but it’s worth tracking his workload/snap count this week. The Patriots also may end up signing another RB to the roster, possibly Travaris Cadet, who they’ve already cut once this year.

Bridgewater has passed his first concussion test and is tentatively expected to play next week against the Raiders. While Bridgewater has had a dreadful season in terms of fantasy production, the Raiders boast a tougher run defense, which may leave him with a little more upside than usual. Stefon Diggs is a really nice bounce back candidate against Oakland, who just allowed 17 catches and over 300 total yards to Antonio Brown. Especially if Diggs’ price remains stagnant, he’s a prime option in most formats in Week 10.

Forte underwent a PRP injection in his right knee and didn’t travel to San Diego with the Bears, and he’s also likely to miss next week’s game against the Rams. While Jeremy Langford is a very solid DFS target tonight against the league’s worst run defense, next week’s match-up couldn’t get much tougher. St. Louis boasts one of the more ferocious defenses in the league, and it’s usually best to avoid them as a whole. With that said, Langford will still have some GPP appeal if he’s able to see a healthy workload tonight, given that he’ll likely still be priced as a back-up/change-of-pace option instead of as a feature back.

Rex Ryan isn’t divulging much information in regards to LeSean McCoy’s health, but it’s worth noting the Bills play on a very short week (Thursday vs. NY Jets). That may be enough for the Bills to hold out McCoy, which would open up a huge opportunity for Karlos Williams to be the feature back. Williams will likely be priced in the low-to-mid range of the RB pool, so even with a tough match-up on deck, he’d still be worth considering closely. If McCoy’s shoulder heals in time for Thursday, he’s best left alone for DFS purposes.

Confirming what was the Patriots worst fears, Dion Lewis has been confirmed to be out for the year with a torn ACL. LeGarrette Blount will likely become the workhorse back for the Patriots but don’t be surprised to see Brandon Bolden out there on passing downs. James White, when healthy, could also see some third down work.

Cecil Shorts returns to practice
The veteran wide receiver practiced today putting him in line to return to action this weekend. While this is overall good news for the Texans passing game, it’s a slight hit to the DFS value of Nate Washington who has excelled with Shorts out.

Nelson Agholor will miss Sunday night’s game with the Cowboys. Josh Huff, Miles Austin and Riley Cooper are all candidates to see an increased snap count, although it’s nearly impossible to predict the the target distribution between them. Jordan Matthews is the only DFS-viable play among Eagles wideouts, and even he is best left alone this week. Ryan Mathews will play, which is bad news for DeMarco Murray owners. Mathews will eat into Murray’s workload with Darren Sproles acting in a complementary role.

T.Y. Hilton will play in Sunday’s game against the Broncos. There’s been no word of a snap count, but Hilton is obviously not at 100% and shouldn’t be trusted for DFS purposes. He may not be a bad guy to swap to on DraftKings in a tournament like the Millionaire Maker since his ownership levels will be so low, but Hilton isn’t an option beyond that. This news does downgrade both Donte Moncrief and Andre Johnson.

Boldin will not play Sunday against the Falcons. The 49ers offense is in big trouble with Boldin and Carlos Hyde out, not to mention the fact that they are starting Blaine Gabbert at QB. Avoid the entire 49ers offense in Week 9.

This has been the prevailing thought all week. Hankerson’s absence will lead to a bigger role for Roddy White, although he’s not DFS viable right now. Julio Jones will continue to see the large majority of the WR targets, with Justin Hardy also providing depth behind White.
Austin-Seferian Jenkins officially ruled out
He’s been very unlikely to play since this morning, and if you’ve taken a chance with him on a late-swap site, now is the time to find a suitable pivot. If you can somehow work Antonio Gates or Martellus Bennett into your lineup in place of ASJ, do it.

Justin Hunter will draw a start on Sunday with Kendall Wright out of action. Despite getting the starting nod, Hunter is still not a recommended DFS option unless you’re feeling lucky in a large-field tournament. Hunter is going to be big play dependent and judging by the fact that he’s been unable to outperform Wright and Harry Douglas so far this year, there isn’t much reason to think he’ll offer solid value in this spot. Dorial Green-Beckham will act as the #3 WR behind Douglas and Hunter, but Delanie Walker is the Titans pass-catcher in the best spot on Sunday.

We’re just passing along confirmation here. Ryan Fitzpatrick’s hand injury doesn’t look like it’ll be an issue judging by pre-game reports, which puts Marshall squarely into play as a high-upside GPP option, with Decker in a similar boat at a much lower price tag. Neither are cash game options, but both have a high ceiling relative to their price.

Both of these injuries are massive blows. Collins is one of the more publicly underrated defenders in the league, and he was expected to the guy tasked with slowing down Jordan Reed. With Collins out, Reed is now a safer DFS option in cash games, although Antonio Gates is the preferred option in his price range. Robert Quinn will miss the Rams tilt with Minnesota, which is great news for Teddy Bridgewater. None of the Vikings skill-position players are worth targeting heavily in DFS.
