Dalvin Cook

Dallas Cowboys

Dalvin Cook (adductor) not expected to play in Week 6

Cook sustained an adductor injury early in the second half of Sunday night’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks, and he reportedly isn’t expected to play in this upcoming Sunday’s Week 6 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons due to the aforementioned ailment. There’s still a chance Cook still participates in practice in a limited fashion at some point this week, but he Vikings have their bye week on the horizon in Week 7, so it certainly makes sense to give Cook an extra week of rest to recover instead of risking further damage to his long-term health. Since Cook will likely be sidelined, Alexander Mattison will almost certainly take over bell-cow duties in the Minnesota backfield this weekend after he out-snapped Mike Boone 43-to-5 in the third and fourth quarters following Cook’s exit from the game.

A.J. Brown

New England Patriots
10/13/20, 12:12 PM ET

A.J. Brown (knee) will play Tuesday night

Brown was able to practice in full on Saturday when the Titans were cleared to return to their facility, and he’ll be active and play in Tuesday night’s Week 5 matchup against the Buffalo Bills after originally being listed as questionable with a knee bone bruise that forced him to miss two games. Fellow receivers Corey Davis, Adam Humphries, and Cameron Batson are currently in isolation away from the team and on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, so Brown and Kalif Raymond are set to be Tennessee’s top two wideouts in tonight’s contest. The other player that could significantly benefit in passing the game, would be Jonnu Smith, who already has a 20.6% target share at the tight end position through three games this season.

Jared Cook

Los Angeles Chargers
10/12/20, 8:12 PM ET

Jared Cook (groin) officially active Monday night

Cook was limited in all three practices this week, but he’s officially been upgraded from questionable and will be active for Monday night’s Week 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers despite dealing with a groin injury that forced him to miss one game. The Saints surprisingly made rookie Adam Trautman a healthy inactive for tonight’s contest, so they’ll be left with Cook, Josh Hill, Stephen Anderson, and Taysom Hill to some extent at the tight end position this evening. New Orleans will also be without Michael Thomas for yet another week, but this time for disciplinary reasons stemming from an incident in practice, so Tre’Quan Smith, Emmanuel Sanders, and some combination of Bennie Fowler and Marquez Callaway will make up the wide receivers corps with their All-Pro wideout inactive.

Mike Williams

Los Angeles Chargers
10/12/20, 8:25 PM ET

Mike Williams (hamstring) officially active Monday night

Williams didn’t practice on Thursday, but he was able to put in two limited sessions in a row to close the week, so he’s officially been upgraded from questionable and will be active for Monday night’s Week 5 matchup against the New Orleans Saints despite dealing with a hamstring that forced him to miss one game. There’s been no word of Williams will be eased back into action, and if he’s able to see anywhere close to a normal snap share, Jalen Guyton would more than likely be demoted to the third-wide receiver role after playing 85% of snaps in the loss to the Carolina Panthers last Sunday afternoon. Williams’ return to the field also left receivers Jason Moore and Joe Reed off the active roster for tonight’s contest, meaning Tyron Johnson and K.J. Hill will serve as the depth options at wideout this evening.

Carlos Hyde

Jacksonville Jaguars
10/11/20, 7:08 PM ET

Carlos Hyde inactive Sunday

Hyde missing another game means an even heavier workload for Chris Carson. The Seahawks also showed last week that they aren’t afraid to get some rushes and targets out of their backup RBs, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas. However, neither of those backups are likely to get much more than a few touches, while Carson will handle a heavy load.

Michael Thomas

New Orleans Saints

Michael Thomas out Monday reportedly due to a team disciplinary issue, not an injury

Michael Thomas is out Monday due to a team disciplinary issue, not due to his ankle injury. He reportedly got in an altercation with a teammate at practice over the weekend, leading to his suspension. It is a bad break for the Saints, as Thomas was finally healthy enough to return, but it also means he will be 100% healthy when he finally does play again.

Michael Thomas

New Orleans Saints

Michael Thomas ruled out for Monday

The Saints have reportedly ruled Michael Thomas out for Monday night. This is a bit surprising, as he was trending towards returning, but instead he will miss his fourth straight game. Tre’Quan Smith, Emmanuel Sanders and Alvin Kamara will all continue to see increased targets. Jared Cook also has a chance to return after missing Week 4, and would see a boost in targets from Thomas being out.

Jakeem Grant

Atlanta Falcons
10/11/20, 2:56 PM ET

Jakeem Grant active Sunday, Jordan Howard inactive

Raheem Mostert

Las Vegas Raiders
10/11/20, 2:53 PM ET

Raheem Mostert, Deebo Samuel active Sunday; Dante Pettis inactive

As expected, both Raheem Mostert and Deebo Samuel are active Sunday. Samuel will work as the top WR, while Mostert and McKinnon will be the top RBs for the 49ers. Pettis wasn’t projected to have a role. Kevin White will be active as the 5th WR, but he is unlikely to see any real action.

Chris Hogan

New Orleans Saints
10/11/20, 12:16 PM ET

Chris Hogan active; Breshad Perriman inactive Week 5

No surprises for the Jets Sunday, as Chris Hogan is active and Breshad Perriman is inactive. The biggest question for Hogan will be the performance of QB Joe Flacco, who is filling in for the injured Sam Darnold. The questionable QB play makes it hard to get excited about the Jets’ passing game, although the return of RB Le’Veon Bell could force opposing defenses to respect the run more.

Henry Ruggs

Las Vegas Raiders
10/11/20, 12:13 PM ET

Henry Ruggs, Rico Gafford active Week 5

Both Ruggs and Gafford are officially active for the Raiders Sunday. Ruggs will work as a top WR option for the Raiders alongside Nelson Agholor and Hunter Renfrow, while Gafford is at the bottom of the depth chart and unlikely to get work.

Jaguars defensive without Myles Jack, CJ Henderson, and Josh Allen Sunday, all are inactive

The Jaguars are without their three top defensive players Sunday, as Myles Jack, CJ Henderson and Josh Allen are all inactive. The Texans are in a great position offensively this week, and should rack up points and yards on the depleted Jaguars defense.

Jordan Akins

Jacksonville Jaguars
10/11/20, 12:07 PM ET

Jordan Akins, Keke Coutee inactive Week 5

Jordan Akins is inactive Sunday, which is a bit of a surprise after he was listed as questionable. Darren Fells should get more usage as the top TE, while Pharaoh Brown will work as the TE2 Sunday. Keke Coutee is inactive and does not have a role in the offense this season.

As reported by: Houston Texans PR Other tagged players: Darren Fells, Pharaoh Brown, Keke Coutee

Joe Mixon

Houston Texans
10/11/20, 12:05 PM ET

Joe Mixon active Sunday; John Ross inactive

Joe Mixon is active and will take his role as the top RB, pushing Giovani Bernard and Samaje Perine down a spot each. John Ross is once again inactive, and he has no role in the offense this season.

Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens
10/11/20, 12:03 PM ET

Lamar Jackson, Marquise Brown, Mark Andrews, Nick Boyle all active Week 5; Chris Moore inactive

Despite having a long list of questionable offensive weapons, the Ravens will only be without Chris Moore. Moore has not played this season, meaning the Ravens are at full strength.
