Patriots TE Matt LaCosse (Ankle) Not Expected to Play vs. Steelers

Ryan Izzo is expected to be the number one tight end for New England against Pittsburgh, but he makes for nothing more than a min-priced dart throw in contests that include this game.

Ravens WR Marquise Brown (Foot) Expected to Start vs. Dolphins

The rookie first round pick will suit up in Miami today, but remains a very thin GPP dart operating in a run-heavy offense. Brown is projected just a 10% target share this season, and arguably the only strength of the Dolphins is their secondary.

Bucs LB Devin White (Illness) Will Play Against the 49ers

While this is good news for the Bucs defensive unit, it is still no more than a salary-saving GPP punt play. Vegas thinks the 49ers will be able to move the ball in Tampa bay, with the Niners’ implied team total over 24 points.

Bucs WR Mike Evans (Illness) Will Play Against the 49ers

Evans missed practice on Friday, but will take the field today against the 49ers. This is good news for almost all offensive skill position players in this game, which has the second highest projected total on the main slate and will likely see the most ownership across the DFS industry. Evans also makes for a nice tournament pivot off of teammate Chris Godwin, who could be the highest owned WR in tournaments on all sites.

Jets WR Robby Anderson (Calf) to Play Against Bills

Anderson, who is in a contract year, finished 2018 on a very strong note, posting over 75 yards and a touchdown in three of his final four games. The speedster likely be facing plenty of coverage from standout cornerback Tre’Davious White, but his availability is nonetheless a big boost to the entire Jets offense.

Vikings WR Stefon Diggs (Hamstring) is Expected to Play Against the Falcons

This is good news for Kirk Cousins, who grades out as an excellent value on DraftKings. Diggs, who received a 26% target share in 2018, should receive his usual workload along with Adam Thielen vs. the Falcons.

Cowboys Won’t Start CB Byron Jones Today

The top defensive back for the Dallas Cowboys will not start today as he continues to recover from off-season hip surgery. He is expected to see limited snaps in today’s contest vs. the Giants.

This is good news for Sterling Shepard, who is by far the best WR on the Giants’ roster and is one of the top point-per-dollar plays on the main slate.

Nick Bosa (Ankle) Likely "Good to Go" for 49ers

The premiere DE of the 2019 NFL Draft is questionable for Sunday’s tilt against the Buccaneers due to a high ankle sprain, but will reportedly play in Tampa Bay. This is an enormous boost to the 49er defense, especially the pass rush. Bosa’s availability makes the Niners DST, which should see sub-5% ownership, a slightly better punt play in GPPs. The unit intercepted only two passes in all of 2018 and will look to take advantage of Jameis Winston’s propensity to throw picks, a category he leads the league in since being drafted by the Bucs.

Antonio Brown

Antonio Brown Has Reached an Agreement with the Patriots

Just hours after the Oakland Raiders released the star wide receiver, Antonio Brown has signed a deal with the New England Patriots. The one-year deal comes with $9 million in guarantees and may be worth up to $15 million. Brown is not eligible to play in Week 1 and will not play against his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, on Sunday.

This likely bolsters Tom Brady’s weekly fantasy outlook going forward, while reducing the number of targets Josh Gordon, Julian Edelman, Demaryius Thomas, and Phillip Dorsett will receive. However, the Patriots have not had an elite talent like AB at the receiver position in some time and he will likely draw coverage away from his teammates, increasing their efficiency per target.

This is obviously huge news and there will be more to come on how Brown will fit into the Patriots’ system, as well as the fantasy impact for all New England offensive players.

Redskins TE Jordan Reed (Concussion) Out for Week 1

As expected, Jordan Reed is not going to be ready to go for the Skins. Veteran tight end Vernon Davis will start in his place and becomes a viable punt option. Washington may have a lot of pass attempts, as the team is currently close to a double-digit underdog for Sunday’s game in Philadelphia, but Case Keenum’s squad has an implied total of just 17 points.

The Cowboys Have Released Running Back Alfred Morris

The Cowboys released veteran RB Alfred Morris to make room for Ezekiel Elliot on the 53-man roster. This is a situation to monitor as we approach kickoff. Zeke was expected to see 20-25 snaps in the season-opener vs. the Giants, but that number may increase with this roster move. Elliot is not the only potential beneficiary here, as Tony Pollard could see additional work, especially if Dallas racks up a big lead in a potential blowout where the Boys are currently 7-point favorites.

The Raiders Released WR Antonio Brown

Well, that was quick. We now know for sure that Antonio Brown will not suit up for the Raiders against Denver on Monday night. AB is now an unrestricted free agent and can sign with any NFL team. However, he is not eligible to play until Week 2 at the earliest.

Brown was projected a 27% target share in the Oakland offense, which will now mean more opportunity for Tyrell Williams, Hunter Renfrow, Ryan Grant, and Darren Waller. Derek Carr ranked 3rd in efficiency last season, but just 34th in yards per attempt. Expect the Oakland offense to continue to be conservative, with lots of short passes against the Broncos, who ranked 5th in pass and overall DVOA on defense in 2018. Denver’s defense was already interesting in slates that include this game, and the unit should now be considered a top play.

Julio Jones Finalizing Extension with Falcons to Make Him the NFL’s Highest-Paid Receiver

Julio Jones and the Falcons have come to an agreement on a 3-year contract extension worth $66 million. Jones previously hinted that he could sit out Week 1 if he hadn’t been given a new deal by this weekend, but now we can be sure Jones will take the field Sunday.

Jones has one of the highest ceilings of any player on the main slate and makes for a solid GPP option at Minnesota. He was the top WR last season in yards per route run and boasted over a 28% target share in the Atlanta offense. He is in the top 10 in our WR vs. CB Matchup Chart this week for the main slate.

Jordan Reed (Concussion) Unlikely to Play Sunday

The Washington Redskins promoted tight end J.P. Holtz from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, adding further doubt that Reed clear concussion protocol in time for Sunday’s contest against the Eagles.

If Reed sits, Vernon Davis becomes a viable cheap tight end play, as he has had success in the past filling in for Reed during his lengthy injury history. The Eagles ranked in the middle of the pack in defending TEs last year, and Case Keenum could be forced to throw early and often with his team being 9-point underdogs. With Paul Richardson, Trey Quinn, and Terry McLaurin as the top WRs for Washington, Davis won’t have much competition for targets.
