Marcus Mariota

Marcus Mariota (hand) and Tajae Sharpe (ankle) will play Thursday night

Mariota wasn’t given an injury designation on the Titans’ final injury report and will play in Thursday night’s matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars despite reaggravating his right hand again in Sunday’s win, while Tajae Sharpe participated fully in Wednesday’s practice and will be good to go for tomorrow’s contest as well. Sharpe racked up six targets in Week 13 as the Titans were in comeback mode, but he and Taywan Taylor are still significantly behind Corey Davis in terms of target share in the Titans low-volume passing offense.

RB Doug Martin (knee) "uncertain" for Week 14

Martin’s knee injury explains the signing of former Panthers back C.J. Anderson on Tuesday. The Raiders are 11-point underdogs against the Steelers’ high-powered offense on Sunday, making Jalen Richard the only mildly appealing option in this backfield, regardless of whether Martin suits up or not.

WR Emmanuel Sanders believed to have torn achilles at Wednesday's practice

Per Adam Schefter, this would end the Broncos’ top wideout’s season after he went down while running routes uncovered at Wednesday’s practice. Having traded Demaryius Thomas and with a 25 percent target share left behind by Sanders, the Broncos will now lean heavily on Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton in the pass game, starting this week against a struggling 49ers secondary. While Sutton is the better talent and has seen more targets since Thomas’ departure, Hamilton actually saw the most wide receiver snaps last week bringing him into play immediately at the minimum price across sites. At 31 years old, Sanders will have an uphill battle in ever returning to the same form after such a devastating injury.

WR Emmanuel Sanders injures left leg at Wednesday's practice

The Broncos top wideout was reportedly unable to put any weight on his leg and had to be helped off the practice field by trainers after taking a fall on Wednesday. This news puts Sanders’ Week 14 availability in jeopardy and will place more on the shoulders of WR Courtland Sutton as the Broncos have no experienced wide receiver depth behind the rookie.

Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens
12/05/18, 2:59 PM ET

QB Lamar Jackson expected to start again in Week 14

With Joe Flacco (hip) remaining limited at Wednesday’s practice, there appears to be no QB debate for another week as the Ravens get ready to take on the Chiefs in Arrowhead. Jackson has been blessed with cupcake matchups for his first three starts and the Chiefs defense is allowing only 16 points per game at home, however they are nearly last in the league in yards allowed per carry and have yet to face a QB with the rookie’s running capability. At $7,500 on FanDuel and $5,700 on DraftKings, Jackson should remain in consideration, particularly due to the shootout capability of virtually any Chiefs game.

Evan Engram

Evan Engram (hamstring) returns to practice Wednesday

Engram said “he felt good” on Wednesday and “there is a chance he returns Sunday”, however he should still be considered questionable at best for Week 14’s contest against the Redskins. Fellow tight end Rhett Ellison has averaged 6.5 targets per game in Engram’s absence (second most on the team) and remains dirt cheap on DraftKings, keeping him in consideration as a punt play if Engram remains sidelined for a third consecutive week.

Bears Head Coach Matt Nagy "feels strong" QB Mitch Trubisky (shoulder) will play Week 14

Expect the Bears QB1 to return for Sunday’s night’s conference showdown with the Rams after Chase Daniel struggled in Week 13’s loss to the lowly Giants. However, Trubisky’s practice participation should be monitored throughout the week to determine whether he’ll have any potential limitations for that contest due to the shoulder injury.

Sammy Watkins

Baltimore Ravens
12/05/18, 2:18 PM ET

WR Sammy Watkins (foot) will return to practice Wednesday

The Chiefs’ WR2 has essentially missed the past 3 games allowing Chris Conley to see a meaningful role which includes 3 touchdowns during the span. If he returns this week, Conley will be relegated to 3-WR sets and Watkins will face a challenging matchup against a Ravens secondary ranked in the top 5 in pass defense DVOA. With Watkins also potentially being eased in, it’s wise to take a wait-and-see approach with the veteran wideout if he suits up in Week 14.

Greg Olsen Officially Out for the Season

The Panthers have officially placed Greg Olsen on IR. One less mouth to feed may mean so extra targets (particularly red zone) for other guys. Olsen was 3rd on the team in targets in the red zone. Despite missing time with injury, Devin Funchess is tied for 1st in redzone targets. With the emergence of the young wideouts in Carolina, Funchess may become the defacto Tight End now. He’s a GPP worthy player.

Spencer Ware

Last Week's Trend Is This Week's Forgotten Man

Last week, we couldn’t get enough of Spencer Ware. This week, Ware is getting shoved aside in favor of trendy plays like Jeff Wilson and Jaylen Samuels. This is true because of two factors: A) Ware largely under-performed last week and B) The Chiefs draw a tough matchup against the Ravens in Week 14. However, Ware played on about three-quarters of the offensive snaps last week, and the Chiefs still have an implied team total of 30 points in this matchup. This is yet another case where we can take advantage of recency bias when building GPP lineups.

Jaylen Samuels

Arizona Cardinals

The Chalk Play Of The Week

With Bell out of the picture and Conner hurt, Samuels is becoming the trendy pick of the week in a hurry. At this point, we know that the Pittsburgh system is conducive to running back production, no matter who the lead back is. Samuels showed well in relief of Conner last week, and there’s no reason to avoid him at a dirt cheap price tag. Even though he will be chalky, I can’t fade him in any format. I’m not buying the chatter that Ridley will be just as involved in a committee approach.

Aaron Rodgers

Pittsburgh Steelers
12/04/18, 10:13 PM ET

Time To Make A Statement

The Packers have been nothing short of a disaster this season. Rodgers has been hurt. They haven’t won a single road game. They lost at home to the Cardinals last week. Mike McCarthy then got fired — which certainly won’t hurt this offense. A lot of times, we will see teams play harder in their first game for a new coach, and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if we saw Rodgers have a turn back the clock game in a sneaky potential shootout against the fading Falcons and their terrible defense. Pair him up with Davante Adams for some elite GPP upside.

Matt LaCosse

New England Patriots
12/04/18, 10:09 PM ET

Back To The Value Well After Last Week's Disaster

LaCosse became a trendy value selection a week ago, and he proceeded to lay a complete GOOSE EGG in a favorable matchup against the Bengals. That is going to make everyone jump ship heading into Week #14, but there are positive signs here. LaCosse played on about 80% of the offensive snaps against Cincinnati, and the matchup is again favorable against a 49ers team that ranks poorly against the pass and ranks in the bottom third of the league in DVOA against tight ends. Denver’s tight ends have shown upside in flashes this season, and this is the time to zig when everyone zags in GPP formats.

Jarvis Landry

New Orleans Saints
12/04/18, 10:03 PM ET

Waiting For That Breakout Game

We haven’t seen Landry have tons of huge performances this year, but he still ranks 7th in the NFL in targets with 120 on the season. He also topped 100 yards with six catches on nine targets against the Texans last week, and this profiles as another game where the Browns will be forced to the air often. If Landry can manage an end zone trip for once, we might see that GPP upside finally come to fruition.
