Antonio Callaway Not Practicing

WR Rishard Higgins (knee) is on the practice field for second straight day, but no sign of WR Antonio Callaway, who was added to injury report yesterday after rolling an ankle. The Browns have a great opportunity for a shootout at home this week with Kansas City, so we will closely monitor the status of these WR’s until kickoff

Ravens RB Alex Collins Appears Ready to Play This Week

Ravens RB Alex Collins (foot) looks like he’s ready to play Sunday against the Steelers after returning to practice Friday. Collins probably erased any doubts about availability when he did some Irish dancing before practice. He also ran without favoring either foot. He is a GPP dart throw in fantasy this week

WR Geronimo Allison suffers a groin injury in practice yesterday.

Mike McCarthy says WR Geronimo Allison had a groin injury in practice yesterday. He followed up with “We’ll see where he is tomorrow.”. This would be big news for the Showdown slate on Sunday night if Allison Cannot go. Stay tuned for more news closer to kickoff.

Rams WR Cooper Kupp Expected to Play on Sunday

Rams WR Cooper Kupp is expected to be back on Sunday according to Ian Rapoport. Good news for the Rams offense. Kupp takes targets away from Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks, but all have shown they can flourish in this system.

Raheem Mostert Suffers Broken Arm

Raheem Mostert suffered a broken arm, per coach Kyle Shanahan. Tough break for a RB that was looking explosive, but this opens the door for more Matt Breida work moving forward.

DeSean Jackson

Baltimore Ravens
11/02/18, 9:04 AM ET

He's got his boy back!

D-Jax and Fitzmagic have quite the chemistry on the year. Jackson has been targeted 22 times by both Fitzpatrick and Jameis, but he’s caught 18 balls from the former and only eight of Winston’s. During the first three starts for Fitzpatrick he tallied a 12/312/3 TDs. He’s obviously a boom or bust play week in and week out, but this is a great way to get more exposure in the second-highest total of the slate. He’s just a perfect fit in a offense that has a propensity of taking deep shots.

Kareem Hunt

Kansas City Chiefs

Elite price point pivot

I’m expecting Kareem Hunt to get lost this week due to where he is priced across the industry. I expect Kamara (if healthy) and Christian McCaffrey to be higher owned. It’s nice to see Hunt be utilized in the pass game. He has 16.5% of the team’s targets over the past three weeks and the Browns have been getting gashed by allowing 139 yards/game. Cleveland has been a run funnel this season, ranking #1 in DVOA vs the pass but 27th vs the run. I expect an Andy Reid-led offense to intelligently take advantage of this weakness.

Jordan Howard

New Orleans Saints
11/04/18, 2:00 AM ET

Workhorse Time

I’m expecting the Bears to dominate this game and them to be working with short fields, resulting in a higher rush/pass ratio than usual. Last week Howard out-touched Cohen 22 to 6 in a game the Bears won 24-10. Cohen took a pass for a 70-yard touchdown, so I expect him to still garner more ownership in the Bears’ backfield. In that game, Howard acted like the closer with 16 of his 22 touches coming in the second half and 10 for 53 yards in the fourth quarter alone. Howard’s price, expected ownership being in single digits, and two-TD upside makes this a juicy tourney play.

Trent Taylor

San Francisco 49ers
11/01/18, 11:03 PM ET

49ers WR Trent Taylor a healthy scratch Thursday night

Taylor’s absence doesn’t open up a ton of production, but Richie James should eat up some extra time in the slot and is worth a look as a punt play in Showdown formats.

Matt Breida (ankle), Raheem Mostert (ankle) and Pierre Garcon (knee) all active Thursday night for 49ers. Breida will assume his role atop the RB depth chart with Mostert also eating into early-down work. Garcon will join Marquise Goodwin at the WR spot.

Michael Thomas

New Orleans Saints
11/01/18, 11:06 PM ET

Michael Thomas (shoulder) and Cam Meredith (knee) practiced fully Thursday

Michael Thomas (shoulder) and Cam Meredith (knee) practiced fully Thursday. Both are expected to suit up at this point and coming off of one of Drew Brees’ lowest volume passing games, Thomas is a viable bounce-back GPP candidate in a game where they should be forced to throw it quite a bit more.

Melvin Gordon

Baltimore Ravens
11/01/18, 6:43 PM ET

Melvin Gordon (hamstring) limited again Thursday

Melvin Gordon was limited again Thursday due to his hamstring injury. This is the second consecutive limited practice for Gordon, who’s status for week 9 may still be a bit up in the air coming off of missing week 7 in London due to the injury and then having a week 8 bye. If Gordon is unable to suit up, look for Austin Ekeler to see the majority of the work out of the Chargers backfield, and for them to rely more heavily on their passing attack against the Seahawks.

Cam finally has a deep weapon

DJ has elite athletic measurables, which will finally allow Cam to unleash some deep ball chances that we have been starved for. Last week Torrey Smith was hurt and DJ stepped in for 46/62 snaps and ran a route on 83% of Cam’s dropbacks and sported a 5-90 line on six targets. I’m expecting Courtland Sutton to be the chalkiest receiver on the slate, so DJ makes for a great contrarian pivot and helps you get a piece of the second-highest over/under on the slate. You always want to get in early on a player like this when his price doesn’t reflect his talent and new role in the offense. Oh did I mention he gets #32 DVOA pass defense in Tampa Bay? Just be sure to check in on Torrey Smith’s injury throughout the week (currently not practicing as of Thursday).
