Don't Mess Around At QB This Week
Week 17 brings a lot of uncertainty at the QB position, as many teams have nothing to play for which leads to wildly unpredictable game scripts. One thing that is certain however, is that Russell Wilson should once again be tasked with carrying the load offensively for the Seahawks in a must win game at home. Wilson should have no problems picking apart a banged up Arizona defense that is missing many of their key playmakers and ranks 23rd in adjusted sack rate this season. In a game that should see plenty of drives exchanged between two uptempo offenses, Wilson makes for a solid low risk, high reward option in a game Seattle needs to win to get into the playoffs.
Kerwynn Williams is questionable for Week 17
Williams looks on track to play even though he has the questionable tag next to his name on Friday.Williams has averaged 18.0 touches per game since Adrian Peterson went on IR, but he’s hardly ever used in the passing game. With an implied team total of 14.25 points, the Cardinals have a very tough matchup against a Seahawks team that needs a win if they want any chance to make the playoffs.
Rex Burkhead and Mike Gillislee are out on Sunday and James White is questionable
With both Mike Gillislee and Rex Burkhead officially listed out, and James White now listed as questionable, Sunday once again sets up for Dion Lewis to dominate both through the ground and the air. Lewis became the must play in Week 16 as he piled up 24-129-1 on the ground and 5-24-1 through the air. Lewis will again be one of the strongest plays in Week 17 with the Patriots needing a win for the No. 1 seed. The team is also expected to not have Chris Hogan back in Week 17, thus making it easier for a player like Lewis to reach his floor in the passing game.

Michael Thomas was able to practice in full this week and is not on the final injury report on Friday.Thomas was a game-time decision last week and was clearly bothered by his injury. Barring any major setback’s Thomas will suit up and play on Sunday, but hamstring injuries can be a bit fickle so it’s worth keeping an eye on how Thomas warms up on Sunday. The Saints have so many weapons, so Thomas with a potential injury makes him a GPP only type play on this slate.
DeSean Jackson, Chris Godwin and Cameron Brate are all questionable for Sunday
The Buccaneers are in shambles moving into the last week of the season. With reports that the team will look to hire analyst John Gruden to be the new coach this offseason, there has been a cloud of uncertainty over the team during the last week of the season. Unfortunately for the team this uncertainty is not just limited to rumors, the Buccaneers have some serious injury question marks to deal with this week as DeSean Jackson, Chris Godwin, and Cameron Brate are all questionable to play in Week 17. Godwin has stepped up when the Buccaneers have been without either of their top-two receivers, posting a 5-68-0 line in Week 10 with Mike Evans suspended and a 3-98-0 mark last Sunday, and would look to benefit from extra time on the field if he is healthy enough to play. Brate struggled last week without O.J. Howard in the lineup, but still remains a top red zone target for Winston if he plays. DeSean Jackson has been a bust this season and has lacked the much needed deep ball play that traditionally gives him upside. The only healthy pass catcher on this team is Mike Evans, who has posted back to back games with at least 100 yards or a score.

Melvin Gordon’s status is perhaps the biggest piece of news left to figure out for the Week 17. Gordon was able to practice in a limited fashion this week and is officially listed as questionable in a must-win game on Sunday.Known as a tough player by teammates Gordon has played through knee injuries this season and appears ready to play this week. Gordon is trending in the right direction if he wants to play this week, but there is still some concern about the severity of his injury, and the impact it could have if he plays at less than full strength. If Gordon is unable to go then Branden Oliver would likely work as the team’s featured back.
Eric Ebron not on final injury report will play Sunday
Ebron is good to go for a Week 17 matchup vs the Packers. At one time Ebron was considered to be a very talented up and coming tight ends in the league, but for the most part, he has not lived up to expectations. Ebron has started to play well over the final few weeks of the season, as he has averaged almost 7 targets per games in the last three weeks.
Cooper Kupp out Sunday
The Rams have decided to rest starters in the season finale vs the 49’s on Sunday. With the likes of Sean Mannion and Malcolm Brown carrying the offensive load for the Rams, this looks to be a great spot to avoid in Week 17.

Hill will join his quarterback Alex Smith on the sideline for the Chiefs’ Week 17 matchup against the Broncos. Pat Mahomes will get his first career NFL action on Sunday and looks to show what he can do in an actual game. For now, the team has made no formal announcement on the status of Karem Hunt, as both backups Akeem Hunt and Charcandrick West are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. Both players are tentatively slated to suit up and could see a decent amount of work with many of the key starters for the Chiefs expected to rest.

As expected, Julio Jones will be ready to go in a must-win game for the Falcons on Sunday. Jones should be considered one of the top wide receiver plays in Week 17.
Le'Veon Bell and Ben Roethlisberger were both held out of practice on Friday
The Steelers have already clinched a first-round bye and can only get the No. 1 seed with a win over the Browns and a Patriots loss to the Jets. News surfaced late yesterday that the team plans to rest both Bell and Roethlisberger in anticipation that the Patriots will have no trouble taking care of the Jets on Sunday. Coach Mike Tomlin has stated that it will be an “11th-hour decision” on whether his two stars will play, but by both missing today’s practice with the non-injury label, it looks more likely that neither will play vs the Browns on Sunday.

Maclin didn’t suit up last week due to a knee injury and is expected to once again sit out the team’s Week 17 matchup against the Bengals. Even when healthy Maclin has been a low-end option in terms of fantasy production. Mike Wallace is questionable this week with a knee injury but is tentatively expected to play vs the Bengals. Wallace could have a tough matchup this week and is almost dependent on the long ball to become relevant in terms of DFS scoring. The Ravens are in a must-win spot and could choose to use the ground and pound approach in order to control the clock as well as give their team the best chance to win. For now, the passing attack on this team looks like a clear avoid in Week 17.

As expected the Jaguars will not have Marqise Lee for the season finale as he is dealing with a multi-week ankle injury. The team announced today that both Allen Hurns and Keelan Cole will play this week. Hurns will attempt to play for the first time in almost two months and will join Dede Westbrook and Keelan Cole in 3 wide receiver sets. The whole passing offense has a great matchup against the Titans’ 28th-ranked defense in pass DVOA. As of now, the Jaguars claim that they plan to play all healthy starters this Sunday, and the time on the field could be big for Hurns as he looks to work his way back into the offense.

Even if both players somehow suit up and play this week, neither player should be considered in terms of DFS roster spot. The Jets should once again struggle with Bryce Petty under center and the team has a tough matchup against a Patriots team that should be motivated to play well and get a win. Forte has struggled to rush for more than 25 yards in a game since week 13, and his presence in the offense only takes snaps away from other appealing options in the backfield. Seferian-Jenkins is now doubtful for the season finale, thus making it that much harder for the Jets to score points with Petty as their quarterback. Seferian-Jenkins if healthy is always a threat to score points in the red zone, but with an implied team total of 13.5, the Jets are not expected to put up much of a fight against the Patriots in Week 17.

The Broncos offense will be without Emmanuel Sanders on Sunday due to an injured ankle. Demaryius Thomas will work as the team’s featured receiver, but the prospect of targeting anyone one piece of this offense has been a scary proposition over the last few weeks, and with Lynch expected to start, we can expect more of the same in terms of inconsistent play.
