Adrian Peterson trending towards not playing on Sunday
For the second straight week, it appears that Adrian Peterson will spend his Sunday on the sidelines. While it appears that his neck injury may not require surgery, the team is not comfortable enough with putting him back into action until he is ready. Kerwynn Williams will face a tough Titans rush defense this week, and should be in line for 15 to 20 carries if Peterson does not play.
Speedy Wide Receiver Draws Poor Pass Defense This Week
Tyreek Hill torched the Jets last week for 185 yards and two touchdowns, marking his third game this season with at least 130 total yards and a TD. One of those previous games was against his matchup this week, an Oakland pass defense that ranks last in the league in interceptions (only picking off one pass this year), last in completion percentage allowed (70.1%), and 27th in yards per attempt allowed (7.7). Hill is sixth in the league in receiving yards this season, and as a result ranks fifth in average DraftKings points and fourth in average FanDuel points among wide receivers. At $7,100 on DraftKings and $7,800 on FanDuel, Hill is priced a notch below the top-priced receivers, and matching up against a poor pass defense this week he has as much upside as anyone.
Receiver Remains Focal Point of Offense Against Struggling Pass Defense
Dez Bryant and the rest of the Cowboys offense has been struggling since Ezekiel Elliott was suspended, but they finally showed some life last Thursday in a win over Washington, with Bryant catching 5 of 7 targets for 61 yards and a touchdown. Bryant and the Cowboys get another divisional game this week against the struggling New York Giants, who are have allowed more total yards than any other team in the league this season and rank 27th in passing yards per game allowed. Bryant doesn’t put up the gaudy receiving numbers he once did, but he still ranks 8th in the league with 109 targets, and at $7,200 on FanDuel and $5,900 on DraftKings, Bryant should be an excellent point-per-dollar play this week.
Tyrod Taylor trending towards a game time decision
When addressing the media today, Coach Sean McDermott stressed that Tyrod Taylor remains limited in practice and is trending towards a true game-time decision this week. Taylor could be active and back up Nate Peterman. Whatever the case it’s a shame since a matchup with The Colts is arguably the best the team will see all year. McDermott also noted that Kelvin Benjerman is trending in the right direction of playing and back up running back Travaris Cadet has cleared the concussion protocol and should be ready to play. Cadet could potential cut into a few of LeSean McCoy’s carries this week.

With all of the focus on bargain Quarterbacks this week, it’s easy to overlook the QB who was the top performer last week, Alex Smith. Smith and the Chiefs bounced back from a couple of disappointing games in a big way last week, throwing for 366 yards and 4 passing touchdowns on the road against the Jets. One big difference was Chiefs coach Andy Reid handing over play calling duties to offensive coordinator Matt Nagy. This week the Chiefs get a matchup this week at home against an Oakland pass defense that is last in the league, by far, in completion percentage allowed (70.1%) and interceptions (only 1 on the year). The Kansas City – Oakland game has the highest over/under on the main slate at 49, and with the Chiefs only being a 4 point favorite, KC could be involved in another shootout this week.
Ingram and Liattmore are both active for tonight's game
No surprise here as both players were expected to suit for tonight’s primetime showdown vs The Falcons. Ingram sat out a couple practices this week, but that appears to be more about rest and less about an injury. Lattimore was limited in practice all week but is back and ready to try and slow down the elite talent known as Julio Jones.
Robert Woods expected to miss another game
As expected The Rams star wide receiver will miss another week. With Woods not expected to return until week 15, The Rams will once again look to rookie Josh Reynolds to fill the void left by Woods. Reynolds will once again draw the start opposite of Sammy Watkins, but his weeks match up vs the Eagles is not one that we should look to exploit.
Zach Ertz has cleared the league’s concussion protocol
After suffering only their second loss of the season, The Eagles received welcome news late Thursday afternoon that star TE Zach Ertz is clear and free of the concussion protocol and should be good to go for this week’s game. In the midst of his best season to date, Ertz leads the Eagles in receptions and ranks second in targets per game. Carson Wentz should look to find this favorite target early and often as The Eagles look to stay ahead of the up and coming LA Rams in this week’s premiere NFC matchup.

Dak Prescott has had a rough few weeks since losing Ezekiel Elliott to suspension, and has put up four straight games with less than 200 passing yards. He did finally throw two touchdown passes against Washington last Thursday, and has had a few days extra rest for this week’s matchup with the struggling New York Giants. The Giants defense has been atrocious this season, ranking worst in the league in total yards allowed (4,690), 28th in passing yards per attempt allowed (7.7), 27th in passing touchdowns allowed (23), and 30th in passing yards per game allowed (260). Prescott is still discounted based on his recent performance and costs only $5,600 on DraftKings and $7,700 on FanDuel, making him an excellent point per dollar play this week.
Ameer Abdullah limited in practice on Thursday
After missing last week’s game vs the Ravens, Abdullah was only able to participate in a limited practice on Thursday due to a lingering neck injury. If Abdullah is unable to go look for Theo Reddick to once again get action in both the passing and running game. In his spot start last week Reddick was able to post 17.2 DraftKings points on his 15 touches.
Quarterback Still a Bargain in Return From Injury
The price on Jameis Winston has risen from last week’s bargain cost, but he is still value priced as only the 15th-most expensive QB on DraftKings and the 21st-most expensive on FanDuel. Winston had a successful return from injury last week, throwing for 270 yards and 2 touchdowns on the road against Green Bay, and this week gets a game at home against Detroit. The Lions pass defense has been below average this year, ranking 24th in passing yards per attempt allowed (7.5) and 27th in passing yards per game allowed. The line on this game has yet to be set due to Matthew Stafford’s injury, but Winston should be a good value play this weekend either way, and could be a particularly good play if Stafford is able to suit up.
Antonio Brown did not practice on Thursday
As expected the Pitsburg Steelers are going to stick to their plan in terms of getting Brown ready for the game. Suffering from a nasty toe injury, the plan for Brown is to rest and get treatment on the toe during the week to ensure that he is ready for gameday. Known for his relentless work ethic in practice, Brown admitted in his post-game interview last week that he must stick to the process and trust that the lack of weekly reps and preparation will not outweigh the importance or rest and recovery.
I'm My Quarterback's New Favorite Target
Seals-Jones has become one of Blaine Gabbert’s new favorite targets recently. He has 44 DK points over the last three weeks, and this week he gets a favorable matchup against the Titans. Tennessee may be ranked in the middle of the pack against the TE position in terms of DVOA, but the Titans allow nearly a 24% target share to opposing tight ends. Seals-Jones has posted target numbers of five, six, and five in the last three weeks, and that number should increase in this matchup. Add in that Seals-Jones has been one of the Cardinals’ favorite red-zone threats over the last three weeks (reaching the end zone three times), and you have the real possibility for a 20+ point game out of this salary-saving tight end in Week 14.
Robby Anderson expected to play Sunday
After being considered questionable for Sunday’s game vs The Broncos, Robby Anderson has now been upgraded to expected to play. The Jet’s expect the injured hamstring to not be a problem and Anderson is in line to start on Sunday.
Alfred Blue expected to miss Sunday
The absence of a noneffective back up player is usually not worth noting, but Blue’s absence should open up a path for pass catching expert Andre Ellington to receive a bigger role moving forward. In addition to the work received as a back up running back, Ellington should see some work as a slot receiver this weekend. With injuries to Bruce Ellington and Braxton Miller, the Texans lined up Ellington 37 times in the slot last week allowing this pass-catching back to turn 6 targets into a 5-56 line. With chance to get work in both the passing and running game, Ellington should be work a look at $3,600 on DraftKings.
