Justin Nicolino : FD: $6,300 — DK: $4,500
Pitching Stats:

Philadelphia Phillies Offense (2015)
vs. LH Pitching: wOBA: 0.302 (Rank: 21) — Strikeout Rate: 22.0% (Rank: 20)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.267 (Rank: 29) — Strikeout Rate: 27.9% (Rank: 30)
Pitches per PA: 3.74 (Rank: 25)
Analysis: Nicolino has struggled down the stretch of the regular season, posting a 5.85 SIERA with a strikeout rate of only 7.3% over the last month of play. He has a good chance to end his season on a high note though, as he takes on a Phillies’ offense that is ranked 29th in team wOBA over the last two weeks of play. Unfortunately, the favorable matchup doesn’t make up for an astonishingly low strikeout rate.
Pitcher Rating: 41.7
Aaron Harang : FD: $5,200 — DK: $5,300
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 371.0 — SIERA: 4.47 — ERA: 4.15 — K%: 16.7% — BB%: 7.6% — HR/9: 1.0

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.346 (Rank: 4) — Strikeout Rate: 16.7% (Rank: 2)
Pitches per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 29)
Analysis: Harang has not pitched well for the Phillies this season and he comes into tonight’s start with a 4.64 SIERA over the last month of play. He draws a decent matchup tonight against Marlins, but given his current form, you have to give the edge to Miami in this matchup. Both of these pitchers should be avoided tonight in the home run friendly Citizens Bank Park.
Pitcher Rating: 52.2
Batter Grind Down
Miami
The Marlins draw a favorable matchup tonight against Aaron Harang and they get to face him in a home run friendly ballpark. The left-handed hitters have the edge in this matchup, as Harang has allowed a .342 wOBA to hitters from that side of the plate.

Analysis: Sampson has been very hittable over the last month of play, posting a 5.75 SIERA with a strikeout rate of only 11.2%. With the Pirates still looking to secure home field advantage in the Wildcard game, they will likely have their everyday starters in the lineup tonight. Sampson should be avoided in all league formats.

Liriano has been in much better form recently, posting a 3.37 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 29.5% over the last month of play. He is back in the good graces of daily fantasy players and he makes a strong play tonight at home against the Reds.

Severino has been in decent form recently, posting a 4.24 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 19.1% over the last month of play. We have seen Severino struggle in some key matchups this season and I’m not completely sold on him tonight against the Orioles. There are better pitching options in both cash games and tournaments.

Analysis: The wheels have come off the track for the Nationals in the second half of the season. At this point, it would be surprising to see them be competitive in this series against the Mets. Gonzalez has been in good form recently, but he is a sizable underdog tonight on the road. There are better pitching options on teams that actually still have something to play for.

Analysis: Syndergaard has been terrific over the last month of play, posting a 2.18 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 29.1% over the last month of play. He draws a favorable matchup tonight against the Nationals, who have the fifth-highest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. This start will serve as a tune-up for the playoffs, but with the Mets still fighting for playoff positioning, he should see close to his usual pitch count.

Washington
The Nationals’ offense has not been playing well recently and they draw a difficult matchup tonight against Noah Syndergaard, who has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .295 wOBA. We are to the point where we can employ a full Nationals fade.

NY Mets
The Mets are currently tied with the Dodgers for the two seed in the National League, so they will likely use their everyday starters tonight against Gio Gonzalez. This isn’t the best matchup on the board, but David Wright has an excellent track record against southpaws.
