Quintana has shown to be a serviceable starter for the White Sox over the course of the last few seasons. This year, he has a 3.57 SIERA and an average 20.6% strikeout rate. The matchup tonight is the problem as he has to face the Royals and their 14.8% strikeout rate. Rating = 6

Danny Duffy

Duffy is an average major league starter that lacks a whole lot of upside for DFS. He rarely pitches passed the sixth inning and has a very low K rate of 14.6%. The matchup is solid tonight against the White Sox, but I think there are much better options at the mid level price range tonight. Rating = 5

He gets a decent matchup tonight against the Padres at Petco and should be viewed as one of the top SP2 choices on the slate with a bit of risk attached. Rating = 6

He now has to face one of the better offenses in the league in the Dodgers but does get to do so in a pitcher friendly park. He has much more upside than Wood in this game that features the lowest total of the night. Rating = 7.5

Felix is having a down year by his standards but is coming off a solid start against this Oakland team as well as some extra rest. Hopefully the few extra days will return him back to his King Felix form as he has a decent matchup against the Athletics that he has pitched well against this season (3.00 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 27 innings. There is a bit of a risk attached to Felix as he has been blown up a number of times this season but is still one of the best options tonight. Rating = 8.5

Jesse Chavez

Strikeout Rate: 21.6% (Rank: 27)

Chavez has been a serviceable starter this year for the Athletics. He has a SIERA of 3.93 on the season with a decent 20.3% strikeout rate. He gets a great matchup against the Mariners who strikeout at a high rate (21.6%). He is a decent SP2 option tonight. Rating = 5.5

Holland has been great in his first three starts this year for the Rangers since coming back from injury. He has a 3.10 SIERA and a 23.3% strikeout rate on the season and is coming off a complete game against the Blue Jays offense in his most recent start. He does have another tough start against the Angels but gets the benefit of pitching away from Globe Life and makes a decent SP2 on the slate. Rating = 6

Jered Weaver

Strikeout Rate: 19.2% (Rank: 9)

Weaver is having a rough go at it this season and has been in terrible form lately. In his last two starts, he has allowed 14 earned runs and over the last month has a 4.77 SIERA. More importantly, Weaver’s strikeout rate is at a career low 12.6%. Avoid him in all formats. Rating = 4
