Adam Conley : FD: $6,600 — DK: $6,300
Pitching Stats:

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.325 (Rank: 12) — Strikeout Rate: 22.3% (Rank: 19)
Pitches per PA: 3.82 (Rank: 16)
Analysis: Conley has been in terrific form recently, posting a 3.34 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 27.2% over the last month of play. He draws a decent matchup tonight against the Rays. While Tampa Bay does hit left-handed pitching well as a team, they also have the eighth-highest strikeout rate against southpaws this season. Conley would be a better play if this game was being played at home, but he is an intriguing tournament option tonight on the road.
Pitcher Rating: 62.8
Matt Moore : FD: $6,100 — DK: $4,900
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 60.0 — SIERA: 4.68 — ERA: 5.85 — K%: 16.6% — BB%: 8.5% — HR/9: 1.4

Miami Marlins Offense (2015)
vs. LH Pitching: wOBA: 0.321 (Rank: 9) — Strikeout Rate: 20.3% (Rank: 10)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.346 (Rank: 4) — Strikeout Rate: 16.7% (Rank: 2)
Pitches per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 29)
Analysis: After a terrible start to the season, Moore has pitched well in his last two outings. He has only allowed two earned runs over 14 innings of work, while striking out 16 hitters. Could this be the time to jump on board? Even though the Marlins are an above-average offense against left-handed pitching, they still lack power in their lineup. Moore is in a sneaky spot tonight at home and he can be targeted in both tournaments and as an SP2 on multi-pitcher sites.
Pitcher Rating: 57.8
Batter Grind Down
Miami
The Marlins draw a favorable matchup against Matt Moore on paper, but the splits don’t tell the whole story. Moore has pitched well in each of his last two starts and the Marlins are sizable underdogs in a game that features a total of only 7.5 runs.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.330 (Rank: 9) — Strikeout Rate: 19.5% (Rank: 8)
Pitches per PA: 3.90 (Rank: 4)
Analysis: Don’t look now, but the Twins are only a half game behind the Astros for the last Wildcard spot. They need a big outing from Gibson tonight, as they square off against the Indians at Progressive Field. This is a difficult matchup, as the Indians are ranked 17th in team wOBA and fifth in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. I’d rather target Matt Moore tonight and he is considerably cheaper than Gibson.
Pitcher Rating: 53.8
Cody Anderson : FD: $6,500 — DK: $7,100
Pitching Stats:

Analysis: Anderson has one of the lowest strikeout rates of any starter this season. He owns a 4.74 SIERA with a strikeout rate of only 12.4%. He draws a nice matchup against the Twins, but the upside just isn’t there. Anderson should be avoided in all league formats tonight.

Analysis: Roark has not performed well as a starter this season. His SIERA has gone up, while his strikeout rate has dropped considerably. Even in a favorable matchup against the Braves, Roark is not on my radar tonight. There isn’t enough upside to warrant consideration and once again, I’d rather target Matt Moore at this price point.

Matthew Wisler : FD: $4,800 — DK: $5,000

Analysis: Wisler has been one of the most hittable pitchers in all of baseball this season. He comes into tonight’s start in less than ideal form, posting a 5.05 SIERA with a walk rate of 10.7%. He can safely be avoided tonight against the Nationals. Even though their team is clearly in disarray right now, they should still have some success against Wisler.

Norris is one of the largest underdogs on the board tonight. He should be avoided in both cash games and tournaments.

Analysis: This is a big game for the Rangers, as they currently hold a one-and-a-half game lead over the Astros in the American League West Division. Hamels comes into tonight’s start in nice form, posting a 3.52 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 20.4% over the last month of play. While the Tigers have one of the highest team wOBAs against southpaws this season, you have to question their motivation at this point in the season. Hamels should see plenty of run support and unlike Clayton Kershaw and Madison Bumgarner, he is actually a large favorite, which is something to keep in mind on FanDuel.

Johnny Cueto : FD: $10,500 — DK: $8,300
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 444.2 — SIERA: 3.41 — ERA: 2.79 — K%: 23.2% — BB%: 5.9% — HR/9: 0.9
Last 30 Days: IP: 29.1 — SIERA: 4.55 — ERA: 6.44 — K%: 13.6% — BB%: 4.6% — HR/9: 1.2
Chicago White Sox Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.306 (Rank: 23) — Strikeout Rate: 20.5% (Rank: 16)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.298 (Rank: 24) — Strikeout Rate: 22.2% (Rank: 17)
Pitches per PA: 3.80 (Rank: 18)
Analysis: Cueto has not been the dominant pitcher that we have seen over the last few seasons. Since joining the Royals, he has been mediocre at best. Over the last month of play, he has a 4.55 SIERA with a strikeout rate of only 13.6%. If you take his name out of the equation, you would never consider targeting a pitcher with those type of numbers. Even in a favorable matchup against the White Sox, I will be avoiding Cueto in both cash games and tournaments.
Pitcher Rating: 77.4
Jeff Samardzija : FD: $7,900 — DK: $7,500
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 426.2 — SIERA: 3.63 — ERA: 3.99 — K%: 20.6% — BB%: 5.2% — HR/9: 1.0
Last 30 Days: IP: 30.2 — SIERA: 4.58 — ERA: 6.75 — K%: 19.1% — BB%: 8.8% — HR/9: 1.5
Kansas City Royals Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.321 (Rank: 7) — Strikeout Rate: 16.2% (Rank: 1)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.325 (Rank: 12) — Strikeout Rate: 23.2% (Rank: 26)
Pitches per PA: 3.71 (Rank: 30)
Analysis: Samardzija has had a season to forget. He has been unable to get any sort of rhythm going and his strikeout rate has taken a hit. He draws arguably the worst matchup on the board tonight, as the Royals are ranked seventh in team wOBA and first in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season.
Pitcher Rating: 65.4

Kansas City
The Royals are one of the best offenses in baseball, but none of their hitters stand out as elite plays tonight against Jeff Samardzija. The left-handed bats in this lineup are decent secondary plays though, as Samardzija has allowed a .326 wOBA to hitters from that side of the plate.

Chicago White Sox
This is a tough spot to predict. On one hand, Johnny Cueto has really struggled in his last few starts. On the other hand, he has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .290 wOBA over the last two seasons. Jose Abreu is a decent tournament option, but he is the only fantasy option of note here.
