Francisco Liriano : FD: $10,200 — DK: $8,900
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 321.0 — SIERA: 3.55 — ERA: 3.39 — K%: 25.5% — BB%: 10.6% — HR/9: 0.7

Cincinnati Reds Offense (2015)
vs. LH Pitching: wOBA: 0.320 (Rank: 9) — Strikeout Rate: 19.5% (Rank: 8)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.331 (Rank: 11) — Strikeout Rate: 17.3% (Rank: 7)
Pitches per PA: 3.78 (Rank: 23)
Analysis: Liriano has not looked like himself recently. Over the last month of play, he has a 4.96 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 18.5% and a walk rate of 13.3%. He’s obviously struggling with his command, but he’s not generating the same number of swinging strikes, which is a concern. At this point, he should be avoided until he can right the ship. His matchup against the Reds is less than optimal, as Cincinnati is ranked ninth in team wOBA and eighth in strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season.
Pitcher Rating: 75.6
Raisel Iglesias : FD: $8,400 — DK: $8,700
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 87.1 — SIERA: 3.20 — ERA: 3.81 — K%: 27.1% — BB%: 7.3% — HR/9: 1.0

Pittsburgh Pirates Offense (2015)

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.316 (Rank: 20) — Strikeout Rate: 19.6% (Rank: 17)
Pitches per PA: 3.79 (Rank: 18)
Analysis: Iglesias has been terrific over the last month of play, posting a 2.37 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 34.9%. The best part is that his price has yet to catch up with his recent level of production. He is a solid play tonight against the Pirates, who are ranked below the major league average in both team wOBA and strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. Clayton Kershaw is still the answer on single pitcher sites, but don’t be afraid to pair him with Raisel Iglesias on multi-pitcher sites.
Pitcher Rating: 82.6

Pittsburgh
The Pirates draw a difficult matchup tonight against Raisel Iglesias, who has been in as good of form as anyone over the last month of play. He has struggled with left-handed hitters in his young career though, so Gregory Polanco and Neil Walker are both viable secondary plays.

Even though I won’t be targeting Francisco Liriano against the Reds, it’s hard to justify taking any Reds’ hitters either. Liriano has been tough on both left and right-handed hitters, holding both under a .300 wOBA over the last two seasons.

Miami Marlins Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.292 (Rank: 30) — Strikeout Rate: 19.0% (Rank: 8)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.307 (Rank: 23) — Strikeout Rate: 16.4% (Rank: 3)
Pitches per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 29)
Analysis: Jungmann has had a nice rookie season for the Brewers, posting a 3.94 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 21.9%. He is still a bit erratic with his command, but that may not be a problem tonight against the Marlins, who average the second-fewest pitches per plate appearance this season. The Marlins are also ranked dead last in team wOBA against right-handed pitching. While I like the matchup, I’d rather target Raisel Iglesias, who is actually cheaper than Jungmann tonight.
Pitcher Rating: 68.4
Adam Conley : FD: $5,500 — DK: $4,100
Pitching Stats:

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.362 (Rank: 5) — Strikeout Rate: 21.0% (Rank: 23)
Pitches per PA: 3.74 (Rank: 26)
Analysis: Conley has quietly pitched well in his last few starts, posting a 3.85 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 23.2%. The problem here is twofold. The first issue is his sample size. He has only pitched in 37 major league innings. The other problem is his matchup against the Brewers, who are ranked fifth in team wOBA over the last two weeks of play. Conley may be worth a look in a DraftKings’ tournament ($4,100), but he should be avoided in cash games.

The Brewers may not be playing in the best park for offensive production, but they draw a favorable matchup against Adam Conley, who has given up a .333+ wOBA to hitters from both sides of the plate. Hot-hitting Jonathan Lucroy remains an elite fantasy play at catcher.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.317 (Rank: 18) — Strikeout Rate: 16.5% (Rank: 4)
Pitches per PA: 3.79 (Rank: 20)
Analysis: Carrasco missed three turns in the rotation dealing with a shoulder injury, but he will be back on the bump tonight. The Indians will likely be a little careful with him in his first couple of starts, but there is no reason to think that he won’t throw 90+ pitches. He draws a favorable matchup against the White Sox, who are ranked 21st in team wOBA and 17th in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. The main concern here is potential rust coming back from an injury.

Analysis: Rodon is finally starting to live up to expectations. He has been very good over the last month of play, posting a 3.73 SIERA (1.85 ERA) with a strikeout rate of 24.8%. He draws a mediocre matchup tonight against the Indians, who are ranked 17th in team wOBA and fifth in strikeout rate against left-handed pitching. He makes a very nice tournament play tonight, but there are safer pitching options for cash games.

Analysis: Volquez is one of those pitchers that is rarely on the radar for us daily fantasy baseball players. He has a mediocre SIERA with a slightly below-average strikeout rate. The good news is that he should see plenty of run support tonight and he gets to pitch at home in the pitcher-friendly confines of Kaufmann Stadium. Volquez also draws a nice matchup against the Twins, who are ranked 26th in team wOBA and 27th in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. Dare I say it? Volquez is actually a viable SP2 tonight and he’s playable in all league formats.

Analysis: Hammel may have a 5.40 ERA over the last month of play, but his indicators look strong. During that same stretch, he has a 3.32 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 25.2%. He draws a mediocre matchup tonight against the Cardinals, who are ranked 12th in team wOBA and 11th in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. St. Louis
The Cardinals draw a difficult matchup tonight against Jason Hammel, who has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .305 wOBA over the last two seasons. With a full slate of games on tap tonight, there aren’t any Cardinals’ hitters on my radar.
