James Harden is the safest SG at a thin position
On a short, four-game slate like today, it is good to lock in safe options that you know will likely produce for your team even if you have to overpay a bit. Today the SG spot is somewhat thin, where James Harden is the top option and rightly so with the next highest SG nearly $4,000 behind him. You could pay down for Will Barton, Khris Middleton, or even Marco Belinelli (will likely get more minutes with Rondo out), but none of them are necessarily safe options. Harden gets a dream matchup with the Kings who play at a very fast pace and they are also very bad at guarding opposing SGs. The Rockets played the Kings ten days ago and Harden went for 31 points and 9 assists for 49FP. We will hopefully see a similar performance tonight in a game with an over/under of 220, by far the largest of the night making this a great game to target. You will want a lot of exposure to this game and on such a short slate it is good to lock in safe points for your team even if you have to overpay a bit for Harden.
Greg Monroe top play at C tonight
Greg Monroe is coming off his second best fantasy night of the season and will be facing the Lakers tonight. Monroe put up 28 points and 11 rebounds with 5 assists against the Warriors to secure 48.75 FPs on DK in his last outing. The Lakers get dominated opposing starting centers and are giving up 17 points and 11 rebounds to them in the month of December. That stat does not include Tim Duncan’s 20 minutes as LaMarcus Aldridge killed them for 24 points and 11 rebounds that night. Monroe should easily be able to put up a double-double tonight in Los Angeles.
Nerlens Noel out again on Wednesday
The Sixers have ruled out Nerlens Noel again for Wednesday’s contest against the Hawks. Jerami Grant started in his place on Monday and put up a decent night against the Bulls. Grant played 28 minutes and had 5 blocks to go along with 6 points and 6 rebounds. The 5 blocks were a season-high so it is tough to project him doing that again. Grant will likely have to guard Paul Millsap, the Hawks go-to player. With Grant’s price already elevated due to his good play in November, it’s tough to recommend him outside of GPP’s.

Collison will draw the start with Rajon Rondo suspended for tonight’s game. He immediately becomes a plug-and-play value option in cash games, but he’s a strong option regardless of the format. He’s averaging nearly 30 FPPG per 36 minutes, so he’s in a great spot to hit value at his low-to-mid range salary across the industry. He’ll have to deal with Patrick Beverley for portions of the game, but the Rockets defense against point guards hasn’t been strong with or without Beverley this year. Neither team is terribly interested in defending, which is proven by the 220 over/under in this game. Start Collison with confidence.

Tyler Johnson, Josh McRoberts questionable for Wednesday
Tyler Johnson has been upgraded to questionable for tomorrow night’s game with the Nets. Johnson’s absence over the last two games has led to a slight bump in playing time for Goran Dragic (he saw 35 minutes last night vs. Atlanta) and has also allowed Beno Udrih to see some court time as the backup PG. Expect Dragic’s minutes to end up around 30-32 when Johnson returns, and Udrih will likely fall out of the rotation. Josh McRoberts is also questionable for tomorrow – if he sits again, Udonis Haslem will continue to see some run off the bench.

George missed practice will an illness (upper respiratory infection), but there’s no word on what affect this may have on his availability for tomorrow night. The Pacers take on the Mavericks at home tomorrow, and George will be an elite target at SF if he takes the floor, but his value would be spread out among several Pacers if he were to sit. Monta Ellis would likely take over as the lead scorer with C.J. Miles, George Hill and Rodney Stuckey helping out on that front. The Pacers could also opt to go with bigger lineups which would mean more run for Jordan Hill, but at this point we’re still expecting George to play. We’ll provide an update on his status after tomorrow’s shootaround.

Mudiay will miss Tuesday’s game and there is some speculation that this injury could keep him out of the Nuggets next few games. Jameer Nelson will draw another start at point guard, and given that he’s played at least 37 minutes in each of his last two starts, he remains an elite value play tonight. Nelson is a very tough fade in cash games, and pairing him up with Darren Collison allows you to spend heavily at other spots – that’ll come in handy with James Harden, DeMarcus Cousins and LeBron James all taking the court tonight. Collison gets the slight edge over Nelson if you have to choose one, but both are very solid options in any format.

Mudiay is still struggling with his injury and the team says that he is unlikely to play today but is considered day-to-day for now. Jameer Nelson will start if Mudiay is unable to go and is an elite value option across the industry. Nelson has played 37 minutes the last two games contributing 30 points, 2 steals, 11 rebounds, and 14 assists in that time. We’ll update once we have official confirmation that Mudiay is out.

Nerlens Noel could miss next game with eye injury
The 76ers do not expect their young forward to play Wednesday night against the Atlanta Hawks. Jerami Grant took his spot last game and put up only 6 points. He did contribute with peripheral stats though as he had 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 5 blocks. If Noel sits again, him and Okafor are the two players to target from the 76’ers. We’ll update Noel’s status tomorrow as we learn more.

The news was released earlier this week that Rajon Rondo would be suspended for tonight’s game against the Houston Rockets for berating an official and using offensive language. Darren Collison should get the start in his place and is an elite play at the PG position on this small four game slate in a game that easily has the highest total of the night.

The Mavs will go with their two-point guard look tonight against the two-point guard look of the Suns. Chandler Parons gets moved to the bench and should not be considered a DFS option tonight. Wes Matthews will move over to the other wing position and lock up with P.J. Tucker.

Jameer Nelson will be starting for the injured Emmanuel Mudiay on Monday. Nelson will likely be a chalky punt play against the uptempo Rockets. Still, his $4,200 price on DraftKings makes for an easy plug-and-play tonight in which should be his lowest price until Mudiay returns. Nelson does have Patrick Beverley covering him, but should still be able to return decent value due to his high ceiling.

Terrence Jones will be inserted into the starting lineup for the Rockets. Look for Jones to have a solid game against the Nuggets tonight. He is cheap enough to plug in as a late swap option and has the potential to go off.

The Sixers have made a last minute change to their lineup and will go with Jerami Grant at PF instead of Richaun Holmes. Grant is much more expensive on DK than Holmes and makes for a tough late swap. Grant will need to grab a ton of rebounds tonight to hit his value due to his unpolished offensive game. Surprisingly, the Bulls are the worst rebounding team so that scenario does bode well for him.

Clint Capela had been questionable all day with an illness but is expected to play tonight. His questionable status all day would make him a very low-owned late-swap play against a weak Nuggets interior defense. He is not much of an offensive threat and will be battling inside against Kenneth Faried.
