DeSean Jackson off injury report
Good news for the Redskins as they prepare to take on the Browns at home this weekend. He had missed Wednesday’s practice and was limited Thursday, which seems like a weekly ritual now for the veteran. Cousins has been spreading the ball around this year. Despite leading the team in receiving yards, DeSean is tied with Jordan Reed and Jamison Crowder for targets at 24. Crowder leads the team in receiving touchdowns with two. Jackson will have a touch matchup with Haden when he lines up on the right side (43% of snaps), he’ll be at a 5.9-point disadvantage in terms of PFF grades. In the slot, Crowder will have a 27.9-point advantage — he lines up there 74% of the time. Washington is 7.5-point favorites, which could mean poor game flow for Redskins receivers, but Cousins has never covered the spread as a favorite. If it’s closer than expected, Crowder could benefit the most at WR given his individual matchup and equivalent volume to DeSean.

Jamaal Charles will make season debut against Pittsburgh this week
Updating our previous report that had Jamaal Charles upgraded to questionable – sources have now stated that Charles will make his season debut this weekend against the Steelers. Spencer Ware should still get the bulk of the work but it has a definite impact on his upside. Charles himself is not a viable DFS option yet but it’ll be worth keeping an eye on how he plays to see how to handle him moving forward.

Doug Martin ruled out for this week
Nothing unexpected here as Martin figures to miss several more weeks. Charles Sims will be the workhorse back for Tampa Bay and is coming off a big game. He has a tough match up this week against the Broncos but could be a sneaky GPP play as Denver is actually 30th in Rush Defense DVOA.

Updating our previous report, the Cowboys are going to play it safe with their veteran WR and he has been ruled out for this weekends game against the 49ers. Cole Beasley should be a target monster and Brice Butler is a deep GPP flyer stepping in for Bryant.

The Chiefs RB situation remains murky as Charcandrick West has been ruled out but they have upgraded their star RB, Charles, to questionable. It’s anyone’s guess as to whether Charles will play or not but if he does he’ll likely be eased back in with Spencer Ware receiving the bulk of the work. If Charles is ruled out, Ware should get all the work he can handle against a Steelers team that is middle of the pack in Rush DVOA and makes for an excellent GPP play as he’ll likely be under owned. We’ll update you on Charles’s status when we learn more.

Updating a previous report, Virgil Green has been ruled out for the Broncos this week in their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. John Phillips and Jeff Heuerman will split the TE work but neither are viable options against a Bucs defense that is 5th in TE DVOA.

Rogers had been doubtful all week and the Steelers have announced that he is out for this weekend’s home game against the Chiefs. Markus Wheaton and Sammie Coates will receive a bump in targets but as is usual with the Steelers, expect the majority of their touches to be handled be Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown. Those are the two to target from the Steelers side.

The veteran TE for the Chargers has not practiced this week and is extremely unlikely to play this weekend against the Saints. It’s a great opportunity for Hunter Henry who played every snap last week and is one of the better value options at any position this week.

Cutler is not expected to play this week and his missing practice today is another sign pointing in that direction. Brian Hoyer is a top value option at QB going against a Lions team that is dead last in Pass Defense DVOA.

The Titans primary receiving threat practiced again today, a good sign heading into the weekend but the team will put him through a pre-game workout on Sunday before deciding whether he will play or not. We’ll post an update Sunday morning as soon as it becomes available. While Walker should get targets if he plays, it’s a tough match up against a Texans team that is #2 in TE DVOA. With the injury issues, he’s probably a fade this week.

Decker had missed practice most of the week and looked doubtful to play this weekend against the Seahawks. The team has confirmed that he will indeed miss the game with a partial tear in his rotator cuff. It’s a bump in usage for Brandon Marshall and Quincy Enunwa, but they face a Seahawks team that is one of the best pass defenses in the league. Enunwa is cheap enough though to be considered as a value option.

Updating a previous report, Sammy Watkins has been ruled out for this weekend’s game against the Patriots – he’s joined by backup WR Greg Salas. It’s a tough spot for the entire Bills offense and a upgrade for the Patriots DST. Robert Woods, Marquise Goodwin, Charles Clay, and LeSean McCoy out of the backfield should be the primary targets for Tyrod Taylor.

The Cowboys star WR did not practice but their Head Coach Jason Garrett would not rule out the possibility of him playing this Sunday. It seems unlikely he will go which will make Cole Beasley an attractive DFS option. Brice Butler is also worth a look as a GPP flyer if he gets the start (which he should if Bryant sits). We’ll keep you updated on Dez’s status whenever news comes in.

There was never much concern that everyone’s fantasy darling would miss this weekends game after being limited with a hamstring injury and that is even more so the case after he took part in practice today. He’ll be a highly-owned DFS play in a great match up against the Bears.
