Alshon Jeffery misses Wednesday's practice
No real surprise here, but Jeffery missed Wednesday’s practice due to a hamstring issue. He still appears likely to play on Sunday and draws a nice match-up with a Tampa Bay team that is much tougher to beat on the ground. Assuming he’s healthy, Jeffery will run most of his routes against the beatable duo of outside CBs Sterling Moore and Jonathan Banks. We’ll update his status throughout the week, but he figures to be a GPP only option in Week 16 due to his injury concerns.
As reported by: Jeff Dickerson on TwitterShaun Draughn misses practice, is day-to-day
The 49’ers starting RB missed practice and is considered day-to-day as the team prepares to take on the Detroit Lions. Kendall Gaskins would get the start most likely if Draughn can’t go but is not a viable DFS option even at a reduced price tag taking on a Lions team that is middle of the pack in terms of RB DvP (15th). Draughn himself is nothing more than a GPP dart throw as he has come back to earth after a hot start and has only totaled 81 rushing yards and 3 receptions the last two games.
As reported by: Cam Inman on TwitterAndre Ellington does not practice
The Cardinals RB missed practice and is considered day-to-day/questionable for this weeks game against the Packers. David Johnson will again be an elite option at his mid-range price tag across the industry.
As reported by: Darren Urban on TwitterRishard Matthews practices in full
The Dolphins WR has not played in a month but practiced in full today and looks as if he will play this week when the team takes on the Indianapolis Colts. He figures to resume his role as the #2 WR sending Devante Parker back to the #3 WR. Matthews had several big games earlier this year and is an intriguing DFS target against a Colts defense that is fifth worst in the league in WR DvP.
As reported by: Mike Clay on TwitterDenard Robinson says he will play this week
Robinson suffered an ankle injury last week but still played every snap. He stated that he will play this week and with T.J. Yeldon unlikely to suit up it’s another week to target Robinson as he faces the pathetic Saints defense that was just gashed by a pathetic Lions run game.
As reported by: Ryan O'Halloran on TwitterStatus update on Tyler Eifert
We reported earlier that Tyler Eifert was out but Jim Owczarski, a Bengals beat reporter, has stated that while he is still in the concussion protocol that the team has not yet ruled him out for this week. We’ll update his status throughout the week as we learn more.
As reported by: Jim Owczarski on TwitterLeSean McCoy doesn't practice, appears doubtful to play this week
McCoy did not practice today as expected. He’s not expected to play this week with Karlos Williams and Mike Gillespie picking up the slack. Williams is the preferred target of the two as he has shown great upside when he’s been the starter. The Bills face a Cowboys defense that is much more vulnerable to the run than they are to the pass, largely because their offense can’t do enough to force teams to throw heavily.
As reported by: Tyler Dunne on TwitterAdrian Peterson looks probable to play this week
Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer stated that Peterson should be “good to go” for this weeks game against the New York Giants. As always, Peterson is in play as he has the potential to blow up for a big game, especially against a suspect Giants run defense. However, his price is high and the risk is there that he won’t complete the game, making him a little tougher to trust in cash games. Peterson’s upside and the general lack of appealing options near the high end of the RB pool make him a more than viable GPP play.
As reported by: Ralph Vacchiano on TwitterTyler Eifert will not play this week
Team sources have stated that Tyler Eifert will not play this week and probably will not play again until the playoffs start. Tyler Kroft will take Eifert’s spot but is not a viable DFS target as the Bengals have A.J. McCarron throwing against one of the elite pass defenses in all of the league in the Denver Broncos.
As reported by: Rand Getlin on TwitterMatt Hasselbeck expected to start in Week 16
The fact that this is good news for the Colts receivers goes to show just how bad Charlie Whitehurst is. Hasselbeck is 40 years old and said after the Houston game that he’s got nothing left in the tank, so the Colts offense is best avoided this week, especially considering they are now on the outside looking in at the playoff picture. T.Y. Hilton still has some contrarian upside in a good match-up with the Dolphins secondary, but it’s really hard to put much faith in any of the receivers with Hasselbeck under center.
As reported by: Bob KravitzStevie Johnson resumes practice after missing past two games
It appears that Stevie Johnson may return to the Chargers lineup after missing the past two games with a groin injury. Since the Chargers play on Thursday, his status is much more murky than if he was supposed to take the field on Sunday, so we’ll need to confirm his status either tomorrow or Thursday. If he returns, Malcom Floyd would lose his DFS appeal, while Javontee Herndon and Dontrelle Inman would basically become unplayable. Antonio Gates and Danny Woodhead are the top two targets in the Chargers offense for those playing in Thursday contests.
As reported by: Michael Gehlken on TwitterShaun Draughn's knee injury not serious, questionable for Week 16
Shaun Draughn’s knee injury isn’t considered serious, but there is still a good chance he ends up sitting out in Week 16. The 49ers did add DuJuan Harris to the roster, but they’ve also cut Travaris Cadet, so it’s tough to gauge how concerned they are in terms of Draughn sitting out against the Lions. Draughn has just 23 total touches over the past two games and isn’t a strong DFS target this week even if he suits up. We’ll update Draughn’s status throughout the week.
As reported by: Matt MaioccoRyan Mallett to draw a start or two for the Ravens?
With Matt Schaub and Jimmy Clausen starting in recent weeks since Joe Flacco’s injury, the Ravens may now turn to Ryan Mallett in order to get an idea of how he fits within their offense over the last two weeks. It’s possible that they are interested in having him act as Flacco’s backup next season, and while he’d be running an offense that lacks any real weapons, he’d likely be an improvement over either Schaub or Clausen. “We’ll see where it goes this week,” coach John Harbaugh said Monday. “Obviously, the clock is ticking. If we want to see him this year, we’re going to have to put him out pretty quick, but that’s a matter of whether he’s ready to play. We also want to do justice to our chances to win the game too.” We’ll provide an update on the situation when one is available.
As reported by: ESPNJags still trust Denard Robinson despite fumbling issues
If T.J. Yeldon sits out again in Week 16, Denard Robinson should once again be the beneficiary despite a bumpy performance in Week 15. Robinson fumbled twice and totaled just 74 yards on 22 total touches against a very beatable run defense, but the coaching staff still has faith in him and considering he played every offensive snap for the Jags, it doesn’t appear that his fumbling issues will cost him any time on the field. Yeldon is still very iffy to play this week and it looks more than likely that Robinson draws another start. He’s once again in a great spot against a New Orleans defense that has allowed the 3rd most FPPG to RBs this season. Robinson would be a core play in all formats and would be an especially appealing target on full point PPR formats.
As reported by: ESPN Other tagged players: T.J. YeldonTyler Eifert still going through concussion protocol
The Bengals star TE is still going through the NFL concussion protocol and his status for this week’s game against the Broncos is in question. Tyler Kroft would get the start again if Eifert sits but he’s not a viable option going against the top-notch Broncos pass defense with A.J. McCarron at the helm.
