Marshawn Lynch added to Seahawks injury report
It’s never a good sign to see a player added to the injury report late in the week, but Lynch has played through plenty of injuries in the past and we aren’t currently expecting him to be limited against Arizona. His Week 10 match-up is about as tough as it gets, as the Cardinals have allowed the second fewest rushing yards per game (to RBs alone) so far this season. Lynch isn’t a strong DFS play in Week 10. If he were to sit out, look for Fred Jackson and Thomas Rawls to fill in.

Calvin Johnson expected to play, but listed as questionable
There isn’t much doubt about Megatron’s Week 10 status, but the Lions are officially listing him as questionable. We’d put him much closer to probable coming off of a bye week. Johnson’s Week 10 match-up with the Packers is not ideal, as all three of Green Bay’s top corners have graded out well in coverage, but Johnson is an elite talent and he’s had success against this defense in the past. He’s not a cash game target, but Johnson does have big time upside in a game where Detroit should spend the large majority of the day playing catch up. The Lions are the biggest underdog on the board.

Coach Mike Pettine has said Josh McCown will start if he is healthy, but he was only able to practice on a limited basis all week. Manziel took most of the first-team reps in practice this week and looked pretty good at times vs. the Bengals, but Manziel will have to earn his keep if he hopes to start when McCown is healthy. This news downgrades all of the Browns pass-catchers, as McCown is a much better pure passer and has posted some huge yardage totals in games he’s started (and completed) this season. Gary Barnidge and Travis Benjamin are still in play against a suspect Steelers pass defense, but they aren’t as strong of plays now.

John Brown will be a game-time decision leading up to Sunday night’s tilt with the Seahawks. This creates a tough situation for DFS players on non-late swap sites, and it’s probably best just to avoid Brown given the tough match-up. He’s expected to run most of his routes against Richard Sherman, although Brown moves around a lot in formations and will see plenty of Cary Williams as well. Larry Fitzgerald has the best match-up of the group as he’ll take on slot corner Deshawn Shead, who has graded out poorly in coverage per PFF. Michael Floyd will see an increased snap count if Brown can’t play, and would be an intriguing GPP punt play on late-swap sites.

Matt Forte (knee) remained limited at Friday’s practice and is questionable for Week 10 against the Rams. While it’s encouraging to see Forte listed as questionable given that it appeared he’d miss multiple weeks, he’d be an easy DFS fade even if he’s able to suit up. The match-up is far from ideal as the Rams boast one of the league’s tougher run units and the Bears are expected to be playing from behind, something that does not equate to a positive DFS situation for RBs. Jeremy Langford will draw the start if Forte can’t go, but he’s also nothing more than a GPP play despite a low price tag given the expected game flow and bad match-up.

It does not sound like we’ll see Austin Seferian-Jenkins in action this week against Dallas. He’s been up in the air in terms of health over the past few weeks and while it seemed like he’d have a good shot to return last week, the fact that he’s also not likely to play this week suggests he’s dealing with a nagging ailment that may limit him for awhile. ASJ has missed six games already this season. Vincent Jackson has already been ruled out, so look for another huge volume day for Mike Evans. None of the other Tampa Bay tight ends are DFS options.

Stacy will be out for the season after breaking his ankle. The injury doesn’t have much DFS impact other than assuring Chris Ivory gets even more work.

Emmanuel Sanders misses practice
It’s usually not a good sign when a player misses a Friday practice and that’s exactly what Emmanuel Sanders is doing today as he is observing without a helmet. Demaryius Thomas would become an even better play than he already is as Manning wouldn’t have anyone else to throw to. Keep an eye out on Sanders status as the weekend progresses.

As expected, Vincent Jackson will not play this weekend. Mike Evans will continue to receive all the targets he can handle. If Austin Sefarian-Jenkins can go, he’d be a great option as well. Charles Sims could also see an increase in targets out of the backfield.

The Bears star wideout took part in a limited practice Friday, a good indicator that he’ll be playing this weekend. Jeffery has been a monster of late and is in play in all formats.

The Steelers QB is progressing quicker than expected and looks to be a game-time decision on Sunday. It’s a great match up for the Steelers as they face the Browns and Roethlisberger suiting up would make a huge difference for almost all of their offensive players, especially Antonio Brown and DeAngelo Williams.

The Jaguars WR is listed as questionable by the team for Sunday’s game against the Ravens. Most DFS’ers are hoping Hurns can give it a go as it’s a favorable match up against one of the worst secondaries in the league. If Hurns does sit, Allen Robinson would probably see more targets and the two back ups, Bryan Walters and Marqise Lee (who is also questionable but practiced) would also likely benefit. For what it’s worth, Hurns did tell the media that he is very confident that he’ll play.

The three leading receivers in terms of red-zone percentage of workload this season are Tavon Austin, Randall Cobb and Calvin Johnson. None of the three have been elite in terms of fantasy production so far this year, but the fact that they are so heavily involved near the goal line makes them prime DFS tournament targets this week. Cobb is looking like the best of the bunch this week against Detroit. Green Bay has a high team total, rarely has trouble moving the ball through the air and should be able to utilize their best weapon against Detroit’s secondary. Darius Slay, the Lions top corner, almost never lines up in the slot (where Cobb lines up), and typically stays at LCB throughout the game. Cobb’s matchup with Quandre Diggs (who has graded out poorly in coverage, per PFF) is one worth exploiting this week. Tavon Austin also has GPP appeal given his low price tag and propensity to break big plays, and it’s also a nice bonus that he’s getting more carries as the season wears on. Austin carried the ball 8 times for 66 yards (along with 4 receptions), so he can score points in a variety of ways and has a plus matchup with a leaky Bears secondary. Megatron is a GPP option every week, but he’s in somewhat of a rough spot against a Green Bay secondary that features three corners with plus PFF ratings. The Lions will be throwing the ball plenty, so it’s certainly not out of the question for him to post a big fantasy total.

Jarvis Landry enters Week 10 with the highest percentage of workload among all WRs. He’s also near the top of the charts in red-zone percentage of workload, but that crown is surprisingly held by Tavon Austin (21.62% RZ POW). Landry posted a very Jarvis Landry-like game last week, finishing with 11-69-0 as well as 18 rushing yards on four carries. He’s going to continue to be the most heavily targeted member of the passing game this week, something I expect to continue on Sunday despite the Eagles faring well against slot receivers. Malcolm Jenkins (as well as E.J. Biggers) have graded out well in coverage (per Pro Football Focus), while the outside corners have had some trouble this season. Despite that, we saw Malcolm Jenkins beat repeatedly by Cole Beasley in the second half of SNF, and Landry is on another level talent wise. Philly owns an above-average run defense and the Eagles are touchdown favorites, something that does not set up well for Lamar Miller and the Dolphins running game. Only the Chiefs and Ravens have allowed more FPs per game to WRs this season. Rishard Matthews is also very much in play, but Landry is the preferred target amongst Miami receivers.

Allen Hurns is looking like a good bet to suit up on Sunday in what is an excellent matchup with an under-performing Ravens secondary. Hurns injured his foot last week and has dealt with a variety of ailments this season, but has played through them and is having a very nice sophomore season. Hurns’ presence isn’t a downgrade for Allen Robinson, as it may lead to the Ravens defense being less able to key in on him with another talented wideout on the other side of the field. Bryan Walters value does take a hit as a result.
