TEN WR A.J. Brown (calf) DNP Thursday
A.J. Brown (calf) logged a DNP Thursday ahead of the Titans matchup on Sunday with the Miami Dolphins. Brown is dealing with a calf injury but it is not expected to impact his status for this weekend’s game. Brown should be ready to build off the monster performance he had last week and can be considered in most DFS formats. It will be important to ensure Brown’s availability for this weekend by checking his game designation listed on the injury report released tomorrow.
As reported by: Adam BeasleyDET WR Kalif Raymond placed on COVID list
Kalif Raymond has been placed on the COVID list and will likely be out for Sunday’s contest against the Seattle Seahawks. WIth Raymond likely out, Amon-Ra St. Brown will be even more of a clear first option for whoever is playing quarterback for the Lions (Jared Goff is currently considered day-to-day) with Khadarel Hodge and Tom Kennedy also available. Hodge and Kennedy will likely be asked to play larger roles in the passing game though outside of St. Brown and D’Andre Swift it will be difficult to trust any members of the Detroit offense.
As reported by: Eric WoodyardMIN TE Tyler Conklin returned to practice Thursday
Tyler Conklin returned to practice Thursday ahead of the Minnesota Vikings matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night. Conklin seems to be trending in the right direction to be able to suit up this weekend and should be in line to see a good amount of targets with Adam Thielen out for the rest of the year. Conklin can be considered on the showdown slate and has the potential to catch a touchdown or two.
As reported by: Minnesota VikingsJAC TE James O'Shaughnessy (hip) DNP Thursday
James O’Shaughnessy (hip) logged a DNP Thursday ahead of the Jaguars matchup against the New England Patriots this Sunday. O’Shaughnessy is dealing with a hip injury and would be expected to be the primary tight end this weekend if he is able to suit up. If not, the only other tight end on the active roster is Kahale Warring who has just recently joined the team. Warring would need to be considered as a punt option with upside based on expected volume.
As reported by: Jacksonville JaguarsIND TE Jack Doyle (knee/ankle) DNP Thursday
Jack Doyle (knee/ankle) logged a DNP Thursday ahead of the Colts matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Doyle is expected to split snaps with Mo Alie-Cox this weekend but if he were unable to suit up Alie-Cox would handle the bulk of the snaps with Kylen Granson available to back him up. Alie-Cox would be a good value option but with the uncertainty at quarterback for the Colts right now it might be best to see how this situation plays out before locking him in your lineups.
As reported by: Paul GutierrezNOS WR Tre'Quan Smith and WR Ty Montgomery DNP Thursday
Tre’Quan Smith and Ty Montgomery logged DNPs Thursday ahead of the Saints matchup against the Carolina Panthers. If Smith/Montgomery were to be unable to suit up this week, Marquez Callaway and Kenny Stills could be asked to play a larger role in the New Orleans passing game. The Saints receivers remain difficult to trust in DFS contests however, even with an increase in expected volume. It will be important to check what game designations Smith and Montgomery carry into this weekend when the injury report is released tomorrow.
As reported by: New Orleans Saints Other tagged players: Ty MontgomeryDET QB Jared Goff (knee) DNP Thursday
Jared Goff (knee) logged a DNP Thursday ahead of the Lions matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Goff has been cleared from the COVID protocols but is still dealing with a knee injury and labeled himself as day-to-day. If Goff is unable to suit up this weekend, Tim Boyle would once again draw the start. Boyle had a much better showing last week than he did in his first game but would still be considered a step down from Goff. All pass-catchers would take a hit in expected production. It will be important to monitor Goff’s status as the week progresses.
As reported by: Detroit LionsNEP WR Nelson Agholor (concussion) DNP Thursday
Nelson Agholor (concussion) logged a DNP Thursday ahead of the Patriots matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Agholor is expected to serve as the secondary receiver to Jakobi Meyers this weekend but is still dealing with some issues stemming from a concussion. If he were to miss this weekend’s game, Kendrick Bourne and N’Keal harry would be asked to step up and play a larger role in the New England passing game. It will be important to monitor Agholor’s status as the week progresses.
As reported by: New England PatriotsTBB WR Antonio Brown (ankle) DNP Thursday
Antonio Brown (ankle) logged a DNP Thursday ahead of the Buccaneers matchup with the New York Jets on Sunday. This absence was deemed precautionary so there is no real need for concern as of yet for Brown regarding his status for this weekend. If Brown is able to return to practice tomorrow and doesn’t carry a designation into Sunday’s game, he can be considered one of the better receiving options on the slate as he draws an easy matchup against a lackluster New York defense.
As reported by: Rich CiminiHOU WR Danny Amendola placed on COVID list
Danny Amendola has been placed on the COVID list ahead of the Texans matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Amendola was expected to serve as the third or fourth receiver for Houston but looks like he will be unable to suit up this weekend. With Amendola likely out, Nico Collins and Chris Conley will likely be asked to play a larger role in the Texans passing game behind Brandin Cooks. Aside from Cooks, it remains difficult to trust any pass-catcher in the Houston offense in DFS contests.
As reported by: Brooks KubenaNYJ WR Jamison Crowder (calf) DNP Thursday
Jamison Crowder (calf) DNP Thursday ahead of the Jets matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Losing Crowder would be a big hit to the New York offense that is already struggling as is. Braxton Berrios and Keelan Cole would become the top receivers and could be considered as value options this weekend. It will be important to monitor Crowder’s practice status as the week progresses.
As reported by: Rich CiminiPHI RB Jordan Howard returned to practice Thursday
Jordan Howard returned to practice Thursday ahead of the Eagles matchup against the Washington Football Team. Howard seems to be set to lead the Eagles backfield this Sunday with Miles Sanders almost certainly out. Howard should see the bulk of the early down and goal line work with Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwelll also available to mix in. Howard can be considered in most formats but it is worth noting that the Eagles tend to go with a hot hand approach in the backfield and Howard by no means has a solidified role. It will be important to ensure Howard’s availability this weekend by checking his designation on the injury report released tomorrow.
As reported by: Philadelphia EaglesCLE RB Kareem Hunt (ankle) DNP Thursday
Kareem Hunt (ankle) logged a DNP Thursday ahead of the Browns Monday night matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Hunt is trying to work his way back from an ankle injury as well as being placed on the COVID list last week. If Hunt is unable to go again this week, Nick Chubb would once again lead the backfield with D’Ernest Johnson available to back him up. Chubb would be on eof the better plays on the showdown slate and would need to be considered in all formats. It will be important to monitor Hunt’s practice status as the week progresses.
As reported by: Scott PetrakPIT TE Pat Freiermuth returned to practice Thursday
Pat Freiermuth returned to practice Thursday in full capacity so it looks like he should be good to go for Monday night’s matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Freiermuth missed last game after suffering a concussion in the previous game. Freiermuth should reclaim his role as the primary tight end for the Steelers and one of Ben Roethlisberger’s favorite targets. He can be considered on the Monday night showdown slate due to expected volume.
As reported by: Dale LolleyBUF WR Emmanuel Sanders (knee) and RB Taiwan Jones (knee) DNP Thursday
Emmanuel Sanders (knee) and Taiwan Jones (knee) logged DNPs Thursday ahead of the Bills matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Sanders was able to log a limited practice yesterday so being downgraded to a DNP might not be a great sign for his availability this weekend. If he were to be ruled out, Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis could play larger roles in the passing game than they are normally accustomed to and would be better plays. If Jones were to be ruled out, it’s likely that one or both of Matt Breida and Zack Moss would be active to back up Devin Singletary in the Bills backfield. It will be important to check the injury report released tomorrow to see what designation Sanders carries into the game on Sunday.
