LeSean McCoy Practicing and Ready to go This Week

Sean McDermott on LeSean McCoy: “He’s out there today practicing, he’s in a good frame of mind, and he’s ready to go on Sunday”. McCoy has been a huge bust this year but he has the talent to put up a GPP winning performance any week.

Darren Sproles Expected to Play vs. Dallas

The Eagles backfield is a bit of a mess since Jay Ajayi went down. Maybe Sproles can grab a defined role for Philadelphia. The Eagles will also have OL Lane Johnson ready to play for this game, so things could be looking up for the Eagles run game this week.

Game Script and Defense Benefit This QB-WR Duo This Week

It has been nearly a month since the Titans were on the schedule for the Main NFL slate, as the team has mixed in a London game, a bye week, and a Monday Night game over the past few weeks. This week the Titans play at home as 6.5-point underdogs to the Patriots, and both the game script and the matchup could mean good things for the Titans pass offense. The Patriots ranks 26th in the league allowing 274 passing yards per game, and rank 29th with 19 passing touchdowns allowed. QB Marcus Mariota gets the benefit of playing at home and is coming off a three TD (two passing, one rushing) performance against Dallas on MNF, and WR Corey Davis leads the team with 36 receptions for 451 receiving yards on the year. Both players are priced cheaply and are shaping up as salary savers across DFS sites this week.

Salary-Saver Defense Faces Injury-Plagued Offensive Line This Week

Tampa Bay faces Washington at home this week as a three-point favorite, and while the Alex Smith-led offense has avoided mistakes so far this season – tied for third-best in the league with only 7 turnovers – Washington may have a difficult time going forward. The team has lost three starting offensive linemen over the past two weeks, so they will be reaching deep into their bench this week to find their starting unit. Washington has given up 16 sacks this season, only the 24th most in the league, but that number could go up quickly as the new offensive line learns to play together. The Tampa Defense is a major salary saver with upside across DFS sites this Sunday.

DeSean Jackson

Back To The Well

It’s clear that Ryan Fitzpatrick doesn’t have a ton of chemistry with Mike Evans, who caught just 1 of 10 targets last week. Perhaps this is a sneaky spot to pair Fitzpatrick with DeSean Jackson, who burned a lot of people a week ago. Jackson is always a bit hit-or-miss, and I’m always more intrigued to take him when he is going to be lower owned. That should be the case this week, and I expect Washington’s best coverage guys to focus attention on Mike Evans. Lock in Jackson as a nice risk/reward GPP option who will certainly be lower owned after last week’s dud.

Tyler Boyd

Tennessee Titans

The Obvious Mid-To-High End Receiving Choice

A.J. Green is likely not going to play this week, so that leaves Tyler Boyd to soak up a ton of targets in Cincinnati. Who else is going to catch passes? Boyd has 49 catches on 66 targets for the year, while no other active player has more than 20 catches or 30 targets. Boyd is a safe choice for cash games and a high upside choice for tournaments in what should be a shootout against the Saints.

Dion Lewis

New York Giants
11/06/18, 9:01 PM ET

Positive Trends

This is a fine spot to give Dion Lewis a look in GPP formats. His price tag is still very cheap on pretty much every site, and he is fresh off a game where he played on a season high 84% of the snaps on Monday against the Cowboys. That’s a great sign going forward, especially since the Titans were AHEAD for much of that game. He totaled 122 scrimmage yards in that game, with 60+ yards both rushing and receiving. We know he’s going to be on the field when the Titans are trailing (which they should be in this one), and Lewis has the revenge narrative against his former team. The stars are aligning!

Aaron Rodgers

Pittsburgh Steelers
11/06/18, 8:57 PM ET

Time For A Statement Game

The Packers have had tough losses in each of their last two games, and these are the types of weeks where we generally see Aaron Rodgers go into “put the team on my back” mode. The Dolphins rank a meager 23rd in DVOA against the pass this year, Rodgers carries a reasonable price tag, and I like the GPP upside here, especially now that he looks a little more healthy than he did a month ago.

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Washington Commanders
11/06/18, 8:56 PM ET

Still a Fine Source of Value

Ryan Fitzpatrick is going to continue to put up big fantasy numbers on a weekly basis simply because the Tampa Bay defense is so abysmal. After struggling for much of last week’s game, he still made it happen with four touchdowns by the time all was said and done. This matchup against Washington is better than it might look on paper, as the Redskins have faltered in matchups against decent offenses; most of their good defensive games have been against poor offensive teams. Give me some Fitzmagic on the value end this week.

Geronimo Allison

Atlanta Falcons
11/06/18, 5:32 PM ET

Packers officially place WR Geronimo Allison on injured reserve

Allison successfully underwent surgery on an injured core muscle and was officially placed on injured reserve by the Green Bay Packers earlier this afternoon. This means that he will have to remain sidelined for at least eight weeks, but he could potentially make a return for a possible playoff run. His absence opens the door for Marquez Valdes-Scantling to continue running with the starters, and Valdes-Scantling has actually out-snapped Randall Cobb in two straight games, making him a valuable fantasy commodity as Aaron Rodger’s number two wide receiver for the rest of the season.

Nick Mullens

49ers will start Nick Mullens at QB in Week 10

Mullens confirmed with reporters that head coach Kyle Shanahan told him that he will start in Monday night’s matchup with the New York Giants after an impressive performance against an abysmal Oakland Raiders defense in his first career start. Mullens will be in a favorable spot in Week 10 to keep the Niners offense heading in the right direction, as the Giants rank towards the bottom of the NFL in several pass-rushing and pass-coverage metrics this season, including a 3.5% adjusted sack rate that, ironically, only ranks ahead of the aforementioned Raiders defense.

Bruce Ellington

New England Patriots
11/06/18, 3:35 PM ET

WR Bruce Ellington signs with Lions

With nearly a 30% target share left behind by Golden Tate, the Lions have decided to add some WR depth in the form of Bruce Ellington, while releasing RB Ameer Abdullah in a corresponding move. The former Texans receiver should compete with T.J. Jones for slot snaps as soon as this Sunday against the Bears and should be the frontrunner to see more time in 3-WR sets, alongside Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones, for the remainder of the season.

Torrey Smith

Carolina Panthers
11/06/18, 1:30 PM ET

Torrey Smith (knee) not practicing Tuesday

It’s not a good start to the week for Smith who appears closer to doubtful for TNF against the Steelers. D.J. Moore has seen the most wide receiver snaps on the team in Smith’s absence while Curtis Samuel has mixed in for roughly a third of those snaps, however they both remain 4th and 5th options on the offense behind Christian McCaffrey, Devin Funchess, and Greg Olsen. That being said, the Panthers have been averaging nearly 40 points a game while Smith has been out, so there could still be enough fantasy points to go around in a projected shootout for one of then to have a nice game Thursday night, evidenced by Samuel’s 2 touchdown performance in Week 9.

Sony Michel

Patriots’ RB Sony Michel is likely to return Sunday vs. Titans.

After missing the past two games with a knee injury, Patriots’ RB Sony Michel is likely to return Sunday vs. Titans per Adam Schefter. We will see if this holds true closer to game time, but his return would take a small amount of shine off of James White.
