Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.334 (Rank: 10) — Strikeout Rate: 23.7% (Rank: 26)
Pitches per PA: 3.78 (Rank: 22)
Analysis: Conley is still getting his feet under him at the major league level. In his first 27 career innings of work, Conley has a 4.31 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 17.8%. He comes into tonight’s start as the largest underdog on the board. Not only are the Nationals a formidable lineup against left-handed pitching, but run support may also be an issue with Max Scherzer pitching opposite him.
Pitcher Rating: 38.5
Max Scherzer : FD: $11,500 — DK: $12,500
Pitching Stats:

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.302 (Rank: 27) — Strikeout Rate: 16.9% (Rank: 2)
Pitches per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 28)
Analysis: Scherzer may have a 5.14 ERA over the last month of play, but he has been the same pitcher that we have seen all season long. During that same stretch, he has a 3.23 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 28.5%. While Clayton Kershaw gets the nod as the top pitching option on the board tonight, Scherzer isn’t far behind. He draws a favorable matchup against the Marlins, who are ranked dead last in team wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. Scherzer is a viable alternative to Kershaw if you are looking to save a little bit of cap space.
Pitcher Rating: 95.3

Miami
The Marlins are the worst offense in baseball against right-handed pitching and tonight they face one of the best in all of baseball. Since the start of the 2014 season, Max Scherzer has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .300 wOBA.

The Nationals may get overlooked tonight with the game total set at only 7.0 runs, but they are actually in a very good spot against Adam Conley, who has given up a .327+ wOBA to both left and right-handed hitters this season.

Analysis: Kennedy is arguably in his best form of the season. Over the last month of play, he has a 2.27 ERA (3.42 SIERA) with a strikeout rate of 26.4%. He draws an interesting matchup tonight against the Phillies, who are ranked 27th in team wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. The issue here is that the Phillies have made it tough on opposing pitchers recently. Kennedy is not a recommended cash game option, but he is worth a look in tournaments.
Pitcher Rating: 70.5
Aaron Nola : FD: $6,000 — DK: $8,000

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.368 (Rank: 4) — Strikeout Rate: 18.5% (Rank: 9)
Pitches per PA: 3.83 (Rank: 12)
Analysis: Nola has been in relatively good form recently, posting a 4.26 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 17.9% over the last month of play. He draws a favorable matchup tonight against the Padres, but they have been in rare form offensively, ranking fourth in team wOBA over the last two weeks of play. Nola is worth a look in tournaments against the strikeout-happy Padres, but he is a risky cash game option tonight at home.
Pitcher Rating: 47.0
Batter Grind Down
San Diego
Even though the Padres have been hitting the ball well recently, they are still the Padres. They draw a mediocre matchup tonight against Aaron Nola, who has pitched pretty well in his rookie season. Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.336 (Rank: 9) — Strikeout Rate: 20.1% (Rank: 14)
Pitches per PA: 3.79 (Rank: 19)
Analysis: After pitching well in his first three starts, Gray gave up seven earned runs to the Mets without getting out of the second inning. He is a pitcher to monitor the rest of the season, but he is a huge underdog tonight on the road. The Pirates are a potent offense that is ranked ninth in team wOBA over the last two weeks. Gray should be avoided in all league formats tonight.
Pitcher Rating: 38.1
Francisco Liriano : FD: $9,500 — DK: $10,000

Pitches per PA: 3.74 (Rank: 25)
Analysis: Liriano comes into tonight’s start in bad form, posting a 4.35 SIERA with a strikeout rate of only 18.1% over the last month of play. Luckily, he draws a near perfect matchup tonight against the Rockies, who are ranked 28th in team wOBA and 27th in strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season. Liriano is a huge favorite at home and his price is currently depressed on both FanDuel and DraftKings. He is in play in both cash games and tournaments.

Colorado
The Rockies are one of the worst offenses in baseball against left-handed pitching, which is pretty surprising considering the fact that half of their games have been played in Coors Field. They should be avoided tonight against Francisco Liriano, who has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .295 wOBA over the last two seasons.

The sample size with Jon Gray is still very small, so it’s hard to trust the splits that he has given up in his first four career starts. He draws the worst matchup on the board tonight, as he has to face the Blue Jays in the hitter-friendly Rogers Centre. Unless you are playing in a low-ball league, Boyd should not be on your radar tonight. If it is, then I have some bad news: it’s broken and you need to take it back to the radar store.

He draws an awful matchup tonight against the Tigers, who are ranked fourth in team wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. Both of these pitchers should be avoided in what is expected to be a shootout.

Analysis: After a great start to the season, Heaney has struggled in his last few starts. He has a 4.84 SIERA with a strikeout rate of only 13.7% over the last month of play. He draws a difficult matchup tonight against the Indians, who are ranked 12th in team wOBA and fifth in strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season. Heaney is not on my radar tonight.
Pitcher Rating: 37.1
Trevor Bauer : FD: $7,700 — DK: $7,800

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.292 (Rank: 30) — Strikeout Rate: 17.5% (Rank: 4)
Pitches per PA: 3.79 (Rank: 20)
Analysis: Danny Salazar has been scratched from his start tonight, which means Bauer will be on the bump for the Indians. He has not been in great form recently, posting a 4.62 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 20.0% over the last month of play. He is a small favorite tonight at home, but the Angels are a tough team to strikeout. Bauer is not on my radar in cash games or tournaments tonight.
Pitcher Rating: 60.2

LA Angels
The Angels draw a slightly better matchup than their original opponent, Danny Salazar. Mike Trout is worth a look at his depressed price point, while the rest of the Angels can be avoided.
