Jerome Williams : FD: $4,900 — DK: $4,000

Baltimore Orioles Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.316 (Rank: 11) — Strikeout Rate: 22.7% (Rank: 27)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.320 (Rank: 12) — Strikeout Rate: 23.2% (Rank: 25)
Pitchers per PA: 3.76 (Rank: 18)
Analysis: Nothing against Williams as a person, but he’s not a great major league pitcher. He has an average SIERA with a below-average strikeout rate. He draws a very difficult matchup against an Orioles’ offense that is finally healthy. The worst part is that he has to face them in the hitter-friendly Camden Yards. Williams can safely be avoided in all league formats.
Pitcher Rating:39.1
Chris Tillman : FD: $6,500 — DK: $6,500
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 272.1 — SIERA: 4.44 — K%: 16.9% — BB%: 8.6% — FB Rate: 39.2% — HR/FB: 8.5%

Philadelphia Phillies Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.272 (Rank: 30) — Strikeout Rate: 19.5% (Rank: 10)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.286 (Rank: 23) — Strikeout Rate: 18.4% (Rank: 6)
Pitchers per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 25)
Analysis: Tillman had a very rough start to his season and it hasn’t gotten much better recently. In the last month, he has a 5.03 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 16.4%. The good news is that he gets to face the Phillies, which is a common cure for the pitching blues. The Phillies are ranked dead last in wOBA (.272) against right-handed pitching this season. Tillman is cheap and he should be in line for the win, as he is expected to receive plenty of run support with Jerome Williams pitching opposite him.

Analysis: Franco has been the only Phillies’ hitter on my radar in the last couple of weeks. While the rest of the team continues to struggle, he has a .521 wOBA and a .383 ISO in the last 14 days. He draws a favorable matchup against the struggling Chris Tillman and he sees a positive ballpark shift playing in the hitter-friendly Camden Yards.

Analysis: Machado has been swinging a hot bat recently with a .443 wOBA and a .291 ISO over the last two weeks of play. He should keep his hot streak going tonight against Jerome Williams, who has given up a .360 wOBA to right-handed hitters in the last two seasons. Machado may be a little too expensive on DraftKings, but he is still listed at a very playable $3,500 on FanDuel. An Orioles stack looks very enticing tonight at home.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.296 (Rank: 20) — Strikeout Rate: 21.6% (Rank: 20)
Pitchers per PA: 3.79 (Rank: 16)
Analysis: Quintana has struggled a bit recently, but he is a very good left-handed pitcher. He has a 3.60 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 20.9% over the the last two seasons. The Pirates have a lot of talented right-handed hitters in their lineup, but they are ranked 26th in wOBA (.287) against left-handed pitching as a team. Quintana shouldn’t be targeted in cash games, but he is a viable tournament option tonight against the Pirates.
Pitcher Rating:68.3
Charlie Morton : FD: $7,400 — DK: $7,900

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.284 (Rank: 24) — Strikeout Rate: 21.7% (Rank: 23)
Pitchers per PA: 3.73 (Rank: 24)
Analysis: Morton’s strikeout rate is very low this season, but it’s only a matter of time before we see some positive regression. Even though he hasn’t been striking batters out, Morton has pitched very well with a 3.19 SIERA over the last month of play. He’s a sizable favorite tonight against the White Sox, who are ranked 21st in wOBA (.300) and 12th in strikeout rate (19.6%) against right-handed pitching this season. Morton is a good target in tournaments and he’s in play as an SP2 on multi-pitcher sites as well.

Chicago White Sox
NONE – The White Sox are ranked 21st in wOBA against right-handed pitching and 24th in wOBA over the last two weeks of play. They are facing Charlie Morton, who has held left and right-handed hitters under a .305 wOBA over the last two seasons. I’m not interested in the White Sox offense in this one.
Pittsburgh
The Pirates are fresh off of an 11-run outing last night against another White Sox left-handed pitcher. However, Jose Quintana is a much better pitcher at this stage of his career than Carlos Rodon. The Pirates right-handed bats are in play, but they are secondary options at their respective positions.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.327 (Rank: 7) — Strikeout Rate: 20.3% (Rank: 14)
Pitchers per PA: 3.84 (Rank: 10)
Analysis: Lorenzen has not pitched well recently, posting a 5.41 SIERA with a low strikeout rate of 16.5%. He has really struggled with his command, walking over 15% of the batters that he has faced during that stretch. He’s an easy pitcher to avoid tonight against the Tigers, who are ranked 5th in wOBA (.324) against right-handed pitching and 7th in wOBA (.327) over the last 14 days of play.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.326 (Rank: 8) — Strikeout Rate: 20.1% (Rank: 12)
Pitchers per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 26)
Analysis: Ryan will be making his third career major league start tonight. He is a low strikeout pitcher that has had decent success in the minor leagues. While he is a favorite in this game, it features one of the highest run totals on the board. A lack of strikeout potential really limits his fantasy appeal. He can safely be avoided against a Reds’ offense that is ranked 4th in wOBA (.326) against left-handed pitching this season.

Analysis: Frazier has been swinging a hot bat with a .418 wOBA and a .298 ISO in the last two weeks. He has always hit left-handed pitching well and this season is no different. He is a speed/power threat with a favorable matchup against Kyle Ryan, who is still unproven as a major league starter.

Analysis: The Tigers are one of the top offenses to target tonight, as they take on Michael Lorenzen at home. The Tigers have one of the highest team totals on the board, as Lorenzen has given up a high wOBA to hitters from both sides of the plate. Cabrera is one of the top hitters at any position tonight, as he continues to rack up hits. He has a .424 wOBA and a .205 ISO over the last two weeks of play.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.268 (Rank: 29) — Strikeout Rate: 21.6% (Rank: 20)
Pitchers per PA: 3.84 (Rank: 9)
Analysis: Roark has given up nine earned runs in his last two starts. He hasn’t had nearly the same type of success starting, as he did coming out of the bullpen. While the Rays’ offense isn’t particularly effective against right-handed pitching, there isn’t enough strikeout potential for Roark to deserve consideration tonight. There are better options in cash games (higher floors) and tournaments (higher ceilings).

Analysis: Colome has struggled over the last month of play, posting a 4.92 SIERA with a low strikeout rate of 12.8%. Even though he is a small favorite in a game that features a low run total, he is not a pitcher that is on my radar tonight. The Nationals owns a very capable offense and Bryce Harper can ruin a pitchers outing with one or two swings of his bat.

Analysis: Phelps is a lot like Nathan Eovaldi in that he is an effective real-life pitcher, but he doesn’t have the high strikeout rate that we like to see in daily fantasy baseball. Phelps draws a difficult matchup against his former team tonight. The Yankees are ranked 4th in wOBA (.325) and 10th in strikeout rate (19.5%) against right-handed pitching this season.

Last 14 Days: PA: 48 — wOBA: 0.420 — ISO: 0.293 — wRC+: 174
Analysis: Teixeira is often the forgotten man at first base in daily fantasy. There are always so many viable options at the position, that he often gets overlooked. He has been swinging a hot bat over the last few weeks though and he draws a favorable matchup against David Phelps tonight. Teixeira is an intriguing tournament play tonight.

Analysis: Gordon already has 25 infield hits this season. That just goes to show how fast he truly is. While he has been swinging a cold bat recently, his price on FanDuel has dropped to a very playable $3,100. He draws a favorable matchup tonight against Nathan Eovaldi, who has given up a .357 wOBA to left-handed hitters since the start of 2014.
