Iman Shumpert (shoulder) is expected to play tonight
Iman Shumpert has missed the last three games with a shoulder injury but is expected to play tonight. Shumpert is a low-end DFS option and has not exceeded value since early January. Shumpert is a defensive player and might see about 20 minutes in this contest. Even with the minutes, Shumpert only has limited tournament appeal.

Evan Fournier continues to log heavy minutes since Tobias Harris was dealt
Ever since the trade deadline when the Magic shipped Tobias Harris to the Pistons, Evan Fournier has been playing a ton of minutes. Harris was injured before the All-Star Break, so including the three games before the break without Harris, Fournier has played over 40 minutes per contest without Harris in the lineup. No one in the NBA has played more minutes over the last seven games than Fournier, and that trend appears likely to continue. In five of those seven games Fournier has put up 20+ real-life points, and only having one game where he would not have hit 5x value at his $6,000 price on DraftKings (a lowly 28.5 DK points on 2/19). I know those are a lot of stats thrown at you, but the bottom line is Fournier has a great floor for the amount of minutes he will be playing. Obviously Fournier is still grossly underpriced on both sites and with the amount of minutes he is playing, he should be a staple in your cash lineups tonight.
Joe Johnson agrees to sign with the Miami Heat
According to an AP Source, Joe Johnson has agreed to sign with the Heat. Joe Johnson provides the injury-riddled team some extra wing depth and can be a viable option in the right matchup. Johnson is a known scorer so he does provide tournament appeal but has been a risky cash game play all season long (and that won’t change in Miami).

Arron Afflalo is dealing with a bruised thigh that limited him on Wednesday. Afflalo seems to have healed on his day off and is expected to start tonight. Afflalo is a viable punt option with his salary having dropped recently. Afflalo is still being listed as questionable on most major sites, which will limit his ownership. Based on the DvP, Afflalo is rated as the least appealing starting SG tonight.

Although Carmelo may be getting old and beat up, he is still putting up his fair share of shots and is actually playing a surprising number of minutes every night. He has been playing around 38 minutes a night over the last ten games and is averaging 44 DK points per game over that span. The great thing about Carmelo is that you can count on him for at least 15 or more shots almost every night, and with a player that plays such a big part of an offensive role for his team they are bound to have a high floor. Anthony had a little hiccup and scored 29.25 DK points vs. the Pacers a couple days ago, but that is likely his floor as he shot 25% from the field. A guy that is only $8,300 on DraftKings that has a floor nearly 4x his value is a lock and load for cash games. He is a little pricier on FD at $9,000, but he is a decent option over there as well.
J.J. Hickson to be active but not expected to play on Friday
J.J. Hickson is in uniform tonight for the Wizards but is not expected to play. Hickson is a low-end DFS play and should only see minimal court time. Hickson will only be a viable asset if the Wizards have an injury to their frontcourt.

T.J. McConnell will be limited to 15 minutes of action tonight. McConnell missed the previous game with the injury, which allowed Kendal Marshall to play over 20 minutes for the first time since December. With McConell back in the lineup expect Marshall to be DFS irrelevant again. McConnell should also be avoided with his minutes restriction.

Rodney Stuckey’s will be playing tonight against the Hornets. Stuckey is expected play 10-15 minutes tonight, making him an extremely risky play. Stuckey is only a viable option when he sees over 24 minutes a game. There should be considerable rust on his game after missing 19 contests with ankle and foot issues.

James Michael McAdoo will be available to play on Saturday against the Thunder. McAdoo last played in December and has not made a fantasy impact this season. McAdoo is not a DFS option and should only be considered in games that the Warriors’ starters could sit out the 4th quarter.

Marcus Thornton has been waived by the Rockets after the trade involving him was rescinded. Potential suitors for Thornton’s services have not been identified at this time, look for an update after he clears waivers.

Tony Allen remains questionable for tonight’s contest against the Lakers. Allen has missed the past two games with a knee injury and his status is pretty much a game-time decision. If Allen plays, Matt Barnes would see a significant hit on his value. Barnes is coming off a 43.5 fantasy point night which will likely make him a heavily owned player. Look out for an update on Allen’s status to adjust your lineup accordingly.

With Rondo being downgraded at this point in the day, he looks to have a genuine chance to sit tonight. If that’s the case, Darren Collison would become the top value play on the board. Rondo’s absence wouldn’t have much of an effect on either Rudy Gay or DeMarcus Cousins, as most of Rondo’s production is tied to assists. We’ll update the situation as more news becomes available.

Paul Pierce (personal) will not play Friday
Paul Pierce is away from the Clippers due to personal reasons and will not play tonight. This is good news for the fantasy outlook of Wesley Johnson and Jeff Green, as they’ll presumably eat up Pierce’s 14-18 minutes of court time. Considering price, Johnson is the more appealing target of the two, although neither are recommended DFS options on a full slate.

Gordon looks as if he will play tomorrow for the Pelicans – good news for the team with Bryce DeJean-Jones out for an extended period of time and Tyreke Evans already out for the year. He might be limited at first but will definitely be in line for extended playing time down the road so keep an eye on his role in the rotation. His return will also likely mean a slight decrease in minutes for Norris Cole and Jrue Holiday but not enough of one to take those two out of play for DFS purposes.

Derrick Rose questionable for tonight
Rose was a surprise late scratch the Bulls last game and is considered questionable for their game tonight against the Atlanta Hawks after being limited at the team shootaround this morning. It’s a moderately tough match up if Rose does go as the Hawks are top 10 in PG DvP and given his injury issues he’s not someone that can be completely trusted. However, his absence would open up some value options in E’Twaun Moore (especially on FanDuel where his price is $4,600) and Tony Snell (he put up 20+ fpts in over 30 minutes of action when Rose scratched last game out). We’ll update you on Rose’s status later when more information comes in.
