Todd Gurley listed as questionable for Sunday
It was Gurley’s (thigh) first practice of the week, and he said he felt good. He’s officially listed as questionable. Even if he plays, he’s not a great option as the Rams play the Jets this weekend. New York has been excellent against the rush this season. Gurley, on the other hand, has been very inefficient; he’s averaging just 3.1 yards per carry.

Mike Evans removed from injury report
Evans (concussion) is fully cleared to play this weekend. He’s expected to be shadowed by Tracy Porter, who has a 66.2 grade from Pro Football Focus this season. Evans has earned the third best wide receiver grade this season with a 87.5, so he should have a nice advantage all game. He’s had double-digit targets in every game besides Week 1, and that streak should continue on Sunday. Evans is projected as our top receiver in terms of raw points on FanDuel (and top points-per-dollar option on the site), and our number two receiver on DraftKings. However, he only trails A.J. Green on DK, but Green isn’t on the main slate.

San Franisco is going to make their decision on Hyde’s status tomorrow. Yesterday, Hyde indicated things were on the right track, so he definitely has a shot at being active this weekend. If he can’t go, DuJuan Harris will get the start again. Either way, the starting running back will have PPR value. In fact, it’s very possible they do more damage through the air than on the ground. Arizona has a top ten defense against both the run and pass, which limits rushing upside, but forces quarterbacks to give plenty of checkdown passes to their backs. In Week 5, Hyde had a season-high six receptions for 36 yards against the Cardinals.

It’s good news for Roethlisberger as it means he’s nearing full health. Pittsburgh has Dallas at home this weekend, which is another positive sign for Big Ben. He’s had some serious home-away splits this season. At home boasts a 122.2 passer rating and 12:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio, but on the road his rating plummets to 74.2 and has a 5:5 ratio. Dallas ranks 17th in pass DVOA. Antonio Brown will have a tough matchup with Brando Carr, who has earned a 81.3 grade from Pro Football Focus. However, he will see Anthony Brown on roughly 41% of his snaps. Brown has earned a score of 71.2, but he’s allowed 0.46 fantasy points per route run, which is fourth-most among starting cornerbacks. Sammie Coates will run against Brown nearly half the game, and he has plenty of tournament appeal this weekend. Coates is second in the NFL in yards per catch with a 21.3 average.

San Diego has Benjamin (knee) listed as doubtful as he hasn’t practiced all week. He’s not expected to suit up this weekend against Miami. Williams (knee) will be considered the number one receiver for the Chargers in his place, but look out for Dontrelle Inman to also get plenty of targets. Inman out-targeted Williams nine to seven last week. Antonio Gates should see plenty of volume as well, and will be the preferred red zone receiver. Surprisingly, Miami’s pass defense ranks in the top 10 in terms of DVOA, Football Outsiders has them at 9th. Against specific positions, they’re 26th in WR1 pass DVOA, 2nd in WR2 DVOA, and 10th against tight ends. It seems like Tyrell Williams will be in the best spot of the three.

He’s been doubtful all week and the team has confirmed that he will not play this week against the Panthers. It’s a prime match up for Chiefs receiving threats going against a Carolina team that is 27th in Pass DVOA but figuring out which of Chris Conley, Albert Wilson, or Tyreek Hill will go off is the hard part. Wilson will be the most reliable of the group with Conley and Hill having some big play upside. It could also lead to more utilization of Travis Kelce as the Panthers are 28th in TE DVOA so keep that in consideration when constructing your rosters.

Markus Wheaton and Darrius Heyward-Bey out for Steelers this week
The two Steelers WR’s missed practice on Friday and are out for their game against the Cowboys this week. Eli Rogers and Sammie Coates will operate as the two WR’s opposite Antonio Brown and are worthy of GPP consideration with Pittsburgh at home in a game that has one of the highest totals of the week. Rogers is the more consistent of the two but Coates (as shown earlier in the season) has more big play upside.

With the Chargers on a bye after this week it’s unlikely that Benjamin will suit up this week against the Dolphins. Tyrelle Williams will continue to operate as the #1 WR and primary red zone threat outside of Antonio Gates while Dontrelle Inman will continue to be an excellent value option who should approach 10 targets.

He’s been unlikely to play all week and while Head Coach Jay Gruden wouldn’t rule him out he did state that the veteran WR was doubtful to play this week against the Vikings. Jamison Crowder and Pierre Garcon (along with TE Jordan Reed) should see a concentrated share of the targets and while it’s a tough match up, they have reasonable value given the opportunities they should receive at their price point.

Nothing unexpected here – after missing several practices this week due to rest (as is often the case with him) he is off the injury report and is set to go against a Chiefs team that is bottom 10 in the league in RB Rush DVOA. He’s worth consideration in GPP’s as he’s been given a significant workload of late, including in the red zone.

The rookie Titans RB was questionable but Head Coach Mike Mularkey stated that he will play when they take on the Packers on Sunday. It’s a slight hit to the value of DeMarco Murray but not enough of one to remove him as a DFS option.

These three were unlikely to play this week and the team has confirmed that they will miss the game against the Eagles. Devonta Freeman should be the workhorse back for the Falcons and makes for an excellent pivot off the higher-priced chalk options this week. Austin Hooper will fill in for Tamme but has a tough match up against an Eagles defense that is top 5 in TE DVOA. Trufant being out makes the Eagles passing game a more attractive option as he is by far their best coverage CB.

Tampa Bay Head Coach Dirk Koetter stated that Martin would be a game-time decision for their game against the Bears on Sunday. It’s an early kick off so we’ll know before rosters lock – tune in Sunday morning for the inactives to find out if he is going to go. He’s not going to be in play this week due to likely being limited in terms of the work he’ll see but if he does not go then Peyton Barber could be a value option at the RB position facing a Bears team that is 19th in RB Rush DVOA – especially with Koetter’s tendency to want to run the ball.

Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy stated Cobb is looking good and will play his full allotment of snaps this week against the Tennessee Titans. He’ll have a solid match up against Titans slot CB Brice McCain and is a viable option for a Green Bay team that should throw the ball 35+ times. His return is a hit on the value of Davante Adams who has the toughest match up of the three starting WR’s for the Packers.

Hurns is recovering from a concussion but appears to be on track to clear the protocol and play this week as he practiced for the second straight day today. If he can’t go, Marqise Lee would see even more opportunity and would make for an excellent value option. We’ll update you on Hurns’s status when more news comes in.
