This winger looks to get back on track in tonight's matchup
Johnny Gaudreau is having a career season, but he has slowed down a bit as of late. However, this should not be of much of a concern in tonight’s road matchup against the Anaheim Ducks. Now, Calgary has been resting players lately so that could be a bit of a concern so be sure to check out who is and is not in tonight’s lineup. The Flames have been elite as of late as their 65.11 CF/60 ranks 4th and they have a league-best 57.63 CF% since March 1st. Gaudreau continues to play with Sean Monahan and Elias Lindholm and they make for an elite line stack as they play on the top power play unit together giving them full-game correlation.

Nothing stands out about Pageau, but his minutes are safe and he is on the team’s top power play unit which should like their chances against a Rangers’ penalty kill that has really suffered. Pageau is just $3,400 on FanDuel and $3,600 on DraftKings which gives him some appeal if looking to spend up on multiple wingers. Pageau plays in all situations and will be leaned on heavily as usual as he logged nearly 19 minutes per game last month. Save some money with Pageau.
Goalie seeks first win in three weeks
Looking at Henrik Lundqvist’s game log is not pretty as has recorded just two wins in his last 15 starts. However, on this three game slate, Lundqvist is perhaps the most stable option in net. The New York Rangers check in as the biggest favorite of the night. Lundqvist’s value is aided by his splits at home (2.67 GAA, .914 SV%) versus on the road (3.48 GAA, .902 SV%). While Henrik is priced more appropriately on DraftKings ($8,000), he is far too cheap on FanDuel ($7,400). In any case, Lundqvist is viable in all formats on this watered down slate.
This winger hit a new career high in goals
Brendan Gallagher has hit a new career high in goals with 33 — passing his previous best of 31 just last season. The Habs have been a team that has been atop the possession standings this season and the last month has been no different. They have a 53.81 CF% which ranks 7th since March 1st and their 65.31 CF/60 ranks 3rd. Tonight they host a Tampa Bay Lightning team that is on the tail-end of a back to back. Tampa will have Edward Pasquale in net who is a 28 year old with one career NHL start. While some of his AHL seasons have been alright, others have been dreadful. This should be a great opportunity for Montreal to pile on some goals as they are desperate to try and make the playoffs.

Sebastian Aho is having a career season for the Carolina Hurricanes this year. The Carolina Hurricanes are fighting it out with the Montreal Canadiens and Columbus Blue Jackets for the final two playoff spots. Right now, the Habs are on the outside looking in and the Hurricanes control their own fate considering if they win out they are in. Tonight they visit the Toronto Maple Leafs who are on the tail-end of a back to back. Over the last month, the Hurricanes have been dominant as they have a 66.59 CF/60 which ranks second — the Leafs 73.83 ranks 1st — and they have had a 3rd ranked 55.83 CF% with the Leafs right behind them ranked 4th with a 55.67 CF%. This is likely to be a back-and-forth game with a tired Leafs team and their struggling backup Garret Sparks between the pipes. Aho along with his wingers Justin Williams and Nino Niederreiter make for an elite line stack tonight in a plus-matchup.

Despite missing 16 games, David Pastrnak still leads the Boston Bruins with 36 goals. He plays on arguably the best line in hockey with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand. Bruins visit the Columbus Blue Jackets — a team that is trying to clinch a playoff berth. The upside of this line is evident as they all play on the top power play unit which gives them full-game correlation. The Bruins power play has converted on 26.4 percent of their opportunities this season which ranks 3rd, but they are facing a Blue Jackets penalty kill that has a 84.9 percent success rate which ranks 2nd. This is a battle of two elite special teams but I think the Bruins PP wins this battle.

J.T. Compher has not done much scoring recently, but in a matchup on home ice against Edmonton, who likely will start Anthony Stolarz, the Avalanche’s top six is firmly in play. Colorado is currently sitting in the final wild card spot and cannot afford a slip up given the situational spot tonight against the Oilers whose 74.4% penalty kill rate is the second-worst mark in the National Hockey League. Compher continues to see heavy minutes and opportunity to shine alongside superstar Nathan MacKinnon.
Top line center draws matchup against porous defense
Nashville is still fighting for playoff seeding and they could not ask for a better matchup tonight than the Buffalo Sabres, a team which has been the worst defensive team in the second half of the season (3.93 GA/G). Johansen is not one to shoot the puck much, but he could easily pay off his salary with a couple apples as his wingers Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson seem certain to take advantage of Buffalo’s many defensive shortcomings. Johansen’s price really stands out on DraftKings ($4,600) as Nashville’s top line seems a bit underpriced.
Sophomore defenseman coming off big game
Mikhail Sergachev was a popular choice last night against Ottawa, and the young defenseman did not disappoint, firing six shots on goal in route to a goal and an assist. While the road matchup is not ideal, the injury to Victor Hedman puts Sergachev squarely on the map given his role on the top power play unit for Tampa Bay. Sergachev checks in at just $4,200 on DraftKings and $4,300 on FanDuel. Look for him to find the scoresheet once again along with a couple shots on goal.
This sophomore has a sneaky-good matchup tonight
Alex DeBrincat and the Chicago Blackhawks host a Winnipeg Jets team that has struggled a bit from a possession standpoint as of late. They’ve given up a 60.72 CA/60 which is the sixth-most over the last month while their 43.87 CF% ranks 29th. The Blackhawks have put forth plenty of opportunities as their 61.19 CF/60 is the sixth-best over the last month. DeBrincat is slated to skate with Patrick Kane and Artem Anisimov in a newly formed line that could prove to be dominant against a Winnipeg Jets team with plenty of depth.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have switched up their lines a bit with Yanni Gourde joining Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov as the Tampa Bay Lightning take on the Ottawa Senators. Kucherov has just two points in three games against the Sens this season, but that is fluke more than anything. He’s running away with plenty of offensive categories as he has an eight point lead on the Art Ross, nine assist lead over second and eight more power play points than the next. He’s also put up 39 goals in the process. Kucherov has been an absolutely dominant offensive force this season.

Over the last two months, Aleksander Barkov leads the NHL with 44 points. In the month of March, the Florida Panthers had the third-best goals per game in the month of march averaging 3.5 per game. In addition, they lead the league with a 28.9 percent success rate on the power play. A home matchup against the Washington Capitals isn’t ideal, but they could be a sneaky under-the-radar offense tonight. Their top line is stacked with Barkov centering Jonathan Huberdeau and Evgenii Dadonov — this line also plays together on the top power play unit which gives them full-game correlation and elite upside.

With several spends at forward tonight like Nikita Kucherov and Patrick Kane, saving some money on the blue line is proving to be valuable. Saving money with Devon Toews who is $3,500 on FanDuel and $3,400 on DraftKings is one way to save money. The Islanders’ rookie has been skating on the team’s top power play unit for several games now which enhances his upside for an Islanders’ team that has found their game after a slight dip in their play to start the month. Toews hasn’t recorded a multi-point game in almost two months, but given the Leafs’ defensive struggles currently, it could be a spot for Devon to flourish.
Speedster could cause issues for Blackhawks
Nikolaj Ehlers may not be on the top line or top power play, but tonight he could fly under the radar. Earlier this season, the Electric Ehl recorded a hat trick in the Jets’ wild 6-5 win in Winnipeg. Due to Ehlers’ recent scoring slump, his price has dropped significantly and at mid-tier pricing across the industry, Ehlers is viable in all formats in this high-event matchup at the United Center, though he is a preferred target in tournaments. Winnipeg’s top-six is firmly in play tonight.
Veteran goalie draws best matchup of the night
After a surprising playoff appearance last season, New Jersey has been a disaster this season. After the All-Star break, New Jersey has struggled to find any offense, posting a league-worst 2.14 goals per game. While the Rangers’ defense is nothing to get excited about, Henrik should see a number of shots as the Rangers have allowed the third-most shots against (35 SA/G) after the All-Star break. Kyle Palmieri was not at the morning skate which further depletes an already abysmal offense. Lundqvist’s price across the industry is attractive on a slate featuring a plethora of offensive firepower.
