Mark Buehrle : FD: $7,800 — DK: $6,400
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 393.1 — SIERA: 4.49 — ERA: 3.57 — K%: 12.6% — BB%: 4.7% — HR/9: 0.8

Tampa Bay Rays Offense (2015)
vs. LH Pitching: wOBA: 0.326 (Rank: 7) — Strikeout Rate: 22.1% (Rank: 23)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.347 (Rank: 4) — Strikeout Rate: 20.4% (Rank: 11)
Pitches per PA: 3.82 (Rank: 16)
Analysis: I’ve been avoiding Buehrle all season. While he has had some solid real life starts, his low strikeout rate really limits his upside in daily fantasy. Over the last month of play, he has only struck out 8.7% of the batters that he has faced. He is an easy pitcher to avoid tonight against the Rays, who have the seventh-highest team wOBA against left-handed pitching this season.
Pitcher Rating: 45.2
Erasmo Ramirez : FD: $8,000 — DK: $6,800
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 233.1 — SIERA: 4.12 — ERA: 4.17 — K%: 18.7% — BB%: 7.5% — HR/9: 1.1

Toronto Blue Jays Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.341 (Rank: 1) — Strikeout Rate: 18.8% (Rank: 5)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.367 (Rank: 2) — Strikeout Rate: 19.4% (Rank: 7)
Pitches per PA: 3.86 (Rank: 9)
Analysis: Ramirez has quietly pitched very well over the last month of play, posting a 2.85 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 24.4%. The issue tonight is his matchup. The Blue Jays are currently tied with the Royals for the number one seed in the American League, so they will have their usual starters back in the lineup for tonight’s game. Given the difficult matchup, I will be avoiding Ramirez in both cash games and tournaments.
Pitcher Rating: 59.9
Batter Grind Down
Toronto
Even though the Blue Jays should have their starters back in the lineup tonight, their hitters don’t stand out as elite fantasy options. They are overpriced for their matchup against Erasmo Ramirez, who has been in great form recently. Consider the Blue Jays secondary options tonight.

The Rays draw a decent matchup tonight against Mark Buehrle. Buehrle has allowed a .319+ wOBA to both left and right-handed hitters and he sports one of the lowest strikeout rates of any starter in baseball.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.296 (Rank: 23) — Strikeout Rate: 14.4% (Rank: 1)
Pitches per PA: 3.75 (Rank: 24)
Analysis: Garcia has been in good form recently, posting a 3.56 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 17.9%. The problem is that the Cardinals have nothing to play for, as they have already clinched the number one seed in the National League. They will likely treat the next few games like Spring Training. The starters will pitch a few innings and the hitters will see a few at-bats. However, from a fantasy perspective, this is a situation to avoid.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.340 (Rank: 6) — Strikeout Rate: 20.7% (Rank: 14)
Pitches per PA: 3.83 (Rank: 14)
Analysis: Teheran has not been in the best of form over the last month, posting a 4.84 SIERA with a walk rate of 11.2%. His fantasy appeal tonight hinges on what the Cardinals’ lineup looks like. If St. Louis decides to give their everyday players a night off, Teheran could be an intriguing tournament option. However, if the Cardinals roll out their usual lineup, Teheran becomes an easy avoid in all league formats.

Analysis: Weaver and the Angels need a win tonight if they are going to have any chance of catching the Astros for the final Wildcard spot in the American League. While we want to target players in games that matter, that doesn’t mean that we should go out of our way to target Weaver in a bad matchup. He has been in bad form and the Rangers have been one of the hottest offenses in baseball over the last few weeks.

Analysis: The Rangers need one win or one Astros’ loss to win their division. Once that happens, they will have nothing to play for, as their seed would remain the same regardless of what happens after that. That means that we have at least one more game to target the Rangers in daily fantasy. Unfortunately for Perez, he is not the Rangers’ player that I was referring to. He has been in mediocre form and he draws a difficult matchup tonight against the Angels.

LA Angels
The Angels are currently a game behind the Astros for the last Wildcard spot in the American League. Their best case scenario is for them to win tonight and for the Astros to lose tonight. That would wrap up the division for the Rangers and give the Angels two easier games to end the season. I’m all for targeting players in meaningful games and with the Angels in a must-win situation tonight, I will be heavily targeting the right-handed hitters in this lineup.

Even though the White Sox don’t have anything to play for, that actually works in Sale’s favor, as they aren’t going to save him for the playoffs. He could realistically throw 110-120 pitches if he is pitching well. Throw in a favorable matchup against a slumping Tigers’ offense and we have ourselves a terrific play. He is my favorite pitcher on the board tonight, as the Cubs will likely treat Jake Arrieta start as a tune up.
