Analysis: Nelson has not been sharp recently and his numbers have taken a significant hit on the road this season. That does not bode well for this matchup tonight against the Pirates. Nelson is a sizable underdog on the road and with a full slate of games, he is an easy avoid in all league formats.
Pitcher Rating: 51.9
Charlie Morton : FD: $6,900 — DK: $6,900

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.362 (Rank: 5) — Strikeout Rate: 21.0% (Rank: 23)
Pitches per PA: 3.74 (Rank: 26)
Analysis: Morton has really had a nice second half of the season. Over the last month of play, he owns a 3.39 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 22.7%. He draws a mediocre matchup tonight against the Brewers, who are ranked 17th in team wOBA and 20th in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. Morton has decent strikeout potential and he could be a very cheap source for a win tonight.
Pitcher Rating: 69.4

Analysis: Duffy’s ERA is finally starting to catch up to his SIERA. I’ve mentioned that regression would hit eventually and it appears that it finally has. He has a 4.27 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 17.7% over the last month of play. He should be avoided tonight on the road against the Orioles in the hitter-friendly Camden Yards.

Analysis: Wright has not had the best season for the Orioles. In 34 innings of work, he owns a 4.79 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 14.8% over the last month of play. To make matters worse, he has to face a Royals’ offense that is ranked third in team wOBA and first in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season.

Analysis: Price has been in terrific form over the last month of play, posting a 3.04 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 27.8%. He draws a difficult matchup tonight against the Yankees, but he makes a nice pivot off of Jake Arrieta in tournaments. The Yankees have had some success against Price a few times in his career, but he has gotten the better of these matchups more often than not.

He has been a nice value play recently, but he should be avoided tonight against the Blue Jays, who are ranked second in team wOBA and seventh in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season.

The Blue Jays draw a mediocre matchup tonight against Luis Severino. This is an extremely tough spot for a rookie pitcher though, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Blue Jays jump on him early. None of their hitters stand out as elite plays, but they are all viable secondary options tonight.

Analysis: After a rough patch to open the season, it’s been smooth sailing for Verlander. Over the last month of play, he has a 3.67 SIERA (1.27 ERA) with a strikeout rate of 24.2%. He draws a difficult matchup tonight against the Indians, who have the sixth-lowest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. While he may own a respectable 3.72 ERA, he has little to no fantasy appeal with a strikeout rate of only 11.3%. He should be avoided tonight against the Tigers, who are ranked above the major league average in both team wOBA and strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season.

vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.298 (Rank: 28) — Strikeout Rate: 20.2% (Rank: 18)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.306 (Rank: 24) — Strikeout Rate: 25.5% (Rank: 27)
Pitches per PA: 3.73 (Rank: 27)
Analysis: Hendricks has quietly pitched well for the Cubs over the last two seasons, posting a 3.74 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 18.7%. He always seems to fly under the radar, which will hopefully be the case again tonight. He draws a terrific matchup against the Phillies, who are ranked 28th in team wOBA and 18th in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. Hendricks is a viable SP2 on multi-pitcher sites.
Pitcher Rating: 79.4
Alec Asher : FD: $5,000 — DK: $4,600

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.319 (Rank: 16) — Strikeout Rate: 29.6% (Rank: 30)
Pitches per PA: 4.00 (Rank: 1)
Analysis: Asher has not fared well in his first nine major league innings. He doesn’t posses an elite strikeout rate and he is one of the largest underdogs on the board tonight. He can safely be avoided in all league formats tonight against the Cubs.
Pitcher Rating: 17.9

Chicago Cubs
The Cubs draw a favorable matchup tonight against Alec Asher, who has not pitched well in his short stint at the major league level. Both left and right-handed hitters are in play against the young right-hander. Don’t be afraid to load up on Cubs’ hitters in both cash games and tournaments.

Philadelphia
The Phillies draw a difficult matchup tonight against Kyle Hendricks, who has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .315 wOBA over the last two seasons. Odubel Herrera and Cesar Hernandez have been viable value options recently, but they are both secondary options in this matchup.
