Eduardo Rodriguez : FD: $7,700 — DK: $9,100
Pitching Stats:

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.393 (Rank: 1) — Strikeout Rate: 17.5% (Rank: 6)
Pitchers per PA: 3.89 (Rank: 4)
Analysis: Steven Wright dominated the Yankees’ lineup last night, but it’s going to be tough to shut their offense down two nights in a row. Rodriguez has been in awful form recently, posting a 5.15 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 13.8% over the last month of play. He is a sizable underdog tonight in a game that features a total of 9.0 runs. Rodriguez can safely be avoided in all league formats.
Pitcher Rating:42.0
CC Sabathia : FD: $7,200 — DK: $7,300
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 163.0 — SIERA: 3.54 — ERA: 5.47 — K%: 20.1% — BB%: 4.9% — HR/9: 1.9

Boston Red Sox Offense (2015)
vs. LH Pitching: wOBA: 0.307 (Rank: 15) — Strikeout Rate: 19.6% (Rank: 8)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.332 (Rank: 12) — Strikeout Rate: 17.0% (Rank: 5)
Pitchers per PA: 3.96 (Rank: 2)
Analysis: Given his sample size over the last two seasons, it’s hard to believe that Sabathia’s ERA is nearly two full runs higher than his SIERA. We typically see these two numbers meet in the middle. His biggest issue is that when he gets hit, he gets hit hard. He has been awful against right-handed hitters and he has given up 1.9 home runs per nine innings during that stretch. He’s a sizable favorite tonight at home, but there is more risk than potential reward against the Red Sox.
Pitcher Rating:62.7
Batter Grind Down
Boston
As mentioned above, CC Sabathia has really had problems with right-handed hitters over the last two seasons, allowing a .397 wOBA. He is effective against left-handed bats though, so we only want to target the Red Sox hitters that can hit from the right side of the plate.

NY Yankees
The Yankees draw a favorable against Eduardo Rodriguez, who has really struggled in his last few starts. The Yankees are one of the best offenses in baseball against left-handed pitching and they should be able to bounce back, after only scoring a single run in last night’s loss at home.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.345 (Rank: 8) — Strikeout Rate: 15.7% (Rank: 3)
Pitchers per PA: 3.81 (Rank: 14)
Analysis: Gibson has pitched well recently, posting a 3.38 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 21.3%. His good form doesn’t trump his matchup, though, as he has to face the Blue Jays in the hitter-friendly Rogers Centre. On the season, Toronto is ranked third in team wOBA and sixth in team strikeout rate against right-handed pitching. There is more risk than potential reward with Gibson tonight.
Pitcher Rating:47.0
Mark Buehrle : FD: $7,700 — DK: $8,900
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 343.0 — SIERA: 4.33 — ERA: 3.36 — K%: 13.2% — BB%: 4.7% — HR/9: 0.8

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.288 (Rank: 24) — Strikeout Rate: 21.3% (Rank: 16)
Pitchers per PA: 3.79 (Rank: 15)
Analysis: Buehrle may have a 2.34 ERA over the last month of play, but he is not a recommended fantasy option. He has one of the lowest strikeout rates of any qualified starter and his high SIERA suggests that regression is coming his way. Buehrle could pick up the win here, but he will likely give up a few runs in the process. His lack of strikeout potential takes him out of consideration tonight against the Twins.
Pitcher Rating:57.8

Minnesota
The Twins draw a favorable matchup against Mark Buehrle and they get to face him in the hitter-friendly Rogers Centre. The Twins hit left-handed pitching well as a team and with Buehrle’s splits, hitters from both sides of the plate are in play here.

The Blue Jays have one of the highest team totals on the board tonight, as they square off against Kyle Gibson at home. Gibson has held left and right-handed hitters in check, but it’s hard seeing him have a good outing tonight. The usual suspects from the Blue Jays are in play tonight.

Analysis: Urena has electric stuff, but he has never been able to turn that into an elite strikeout rate at any level. So far in his rookie season, he has a 5.06 SIERA with a very low strikeout rate of 10.5%. While the Braves may not be the most potent offense in baseball, they have the third-lowest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. Urena is an easy pitcher to avoid tonight.

Analysis: Wisler has been a serviceable pitcher for the Braves this season, posting a 4.73 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 14.4%. While I do like the matchup against the Marlins, I’d prefer him to be in the $5,000 – $6,000 range. He’s a little too expensive for what he brings to the table. There are better pitching options for both cash games and tournaments.

Analysis: Heston has a 1.64 ERA over the last month of play, but his indicators tell another story. During that same stretch, he has a 4.13 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 16.9%. He draws an intriguing matchup tonight against the Cubs, who have the highest strikeout rate of any team against right-handed pitching this season. The Cubs do take a lot of pitches, but the strikeout potential is still there for Heston. The main concern here is the potential lack of run support with Jason Hammel pitching opposite him.

Analysis: Hammel has been very solid over the past two seasons, posting a 3.40 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 23.0%. The issue tonight is that he has been in bad form recently and he draws a difficult matchup against the Giants, who are ranked third in team wOBA and fourth in team strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. The good news is that there is a helping wind blowing in from center field. Given the lack of pitching options tonight, Hammel is in play.

Oakland Athletics Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.305 (Rank: 18) — Strikeout Rate: 17.6% (Rank: 4)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.251 (Rank: 29) — Strikeout Rate: 17.9% (Rank: 8)
Pitchers per PA: 3.87 (Rank: 7)
Analysis: Feldman is one of the easiest pitchers to avoid in daily fantasy baseball. He has an average SIERA with a below-average strikeout rate. The good news is that he gets to face an ice-cold A’s offense, the bad news is that they are one of the toughest teams to strikeout this season. There are better pitching options on the board tonight.
Pitcher Rating:48.5
Aaron Brooks : FD: $5,800 — DK: $5,600
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 14.1 — SIERA: 4.24 — ERA: 10.67 — K%: 14.5% — BB%: 4.4% — HR/9: 1.3

Houston Astros Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.326 (Rank: 6) — Strikeout Rate: 24.3% (Rank: 29)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.356 (Rank: 5) — Strikeout Rate: 18.5% (Rank: 9)
Pitchers per PA: 3.86 (Rank: 8)
Analysis: Brooks is making his third career start tonight. In 17 Triple-A starts this season, he posted a 3.61 FIP with a strikeout rate of 20.7%. He draws a decent matchup against the Astros, who have the second-highest strikeout against right-handed pitching this season. He could obviously get shelled against this potent lineup, but on a night with only five games on the schedule, he could make a nice tournament play.
Pitcher Rating:47.3

Houston
The Astros are small favorites tonight in a game that features a total of only 7.5 runs. They are facing Aaron Brooks, who is only making his third career major league start. Red-hot Carlos Correa is the elite play here, while the rest of the Astros are better secondary options.

Oakland
