T.J. Yeldon still not practicing
It’s looking highly unlikely that Yeldon will not play this weekend after not practicing again today. Denard Robinson is in line to get the start and is an excellent DFS option against a Falcons defense that is #31 in RB DvP. Robinson will be a strong option in any format assuming Yeldon sits. Recently signed Jonas Gray would be the only back pushing him for carries, and it’s highly unlikely the Jags would give him much work in his first game with the team.

Charles Clay misses second straight practice, unlikely to play Sunday
The starting TE for the Bills missed his second straight practice and is questionable to play in this weekend’s game against the Washington Redskins. Chris Gragg is the probable replacement for Clay but he’s not in play for DFS purposes. Robert Woods could see more targets sent his way, however, and is an intriguing option against a Redskins team that is #22 in WR DvP.

After a day off for “maintenance”, Matt Hasselbeck returned to practice today and looks as if he will get the start Sunday against the Houston Texans. The Texans are tough against the pass (#14 in QB DvP and #3 in WR DvP) and there are better value options at QB than the veteran Hasselbeck.

The speedy Redskins WR participated in drills today in practice and looks to be on track to play this weekend against the Buffalo Bills who are #22 in WR DvP. While Jackson has home run potential, he hasn’t shown enough to be trusted for DFS purposes this season and is at best used in a GPP dart throw lineup. His presence, however, does open up the Redskins passing game which is good news for the likes of TE Jordan Reed.

It looks as if the backup Bills RB will play this week as he has practiced in full the last two days. While he’s not a play for DFS purposes, he does threaten to steal some value from LeSean McCoy in a match up against a moderately tough Redskins run defense (#11 overall in RB DvP). Williams was sieving touchdowns from McCoy earlier in the season, although Williams was producing them at an unsustainable rate given his number of touches, and he’s not expected to eat heavily into McCoy’s workload this week.

It’s looking highly unlikely that the Bengals TE will suit up this weekend as he missed another practice today due to a concussion he suffered in last week’s game. This could be a positive for WR’s A.J. Green and Marvin Jones who would see more red zone looks with Eifert out although they will be having the ball thrown their way by backup QB A.J. McCarron. It’s still a plus match up no matter who is throwing the ball as the Bengals face the San Francisco 49’ers who are in the bottom half of the league in terms of QB and WR DvP.

Andre Ellington missed Wednesday’s practice and Cardinals beat writer Kent Somers does not expect him to suit up on Sunday night. With David Johnson playing well as the lead back, the Cardinals have no real need to rush Ellington back into action, but his participation (or lack thereof) in Thursday and Friday’s practice will tell us a lot more about his chances to play. Assuming he’s the starter, Johnson is once again a top $/point play at the RB position against an Eagles defense that has allowed the 6th most rushing yards per game to the RB spot to this point in the year – target him confidently in any format.

C.J. Anderson expected to play in Week 15
Anderson was active last week, but didn’t end up seeing the field. Instead, Ronnie Hillman led the backfield with Juwan Thompson acting in a complementary role, but neither RB took advantage of the opportunity. Hillman finished with 19 touches, but was only able to turn his 12 carries into 20 yards and couldn’t cross the 50 yard mark in the receiving game despite 7 catches. Thompson finished with 9 total touches and he was also bottled up, gaining just 29 yards on those opportunities. If Anderson is indeed healthy, he could very well lead the backfield in touches against the Steelers. The match-up isn’t great regardless of who heads up the backfield with Pittsburgh having one of the league’s top run defenses. Both Anderson and Hillman will enter Week 15 as GPP dart throws.

With Moncrief in a walking boot at this point in the week, he’s unlikely to play on Sunday. He’s been neck and neck with T.Y. Hilton in terms of targets for most of the season, but he’s slowed down considerably in terms of production since Andrew Luck has been out of action. Hilton could conceivably see 10-12 targets with Moncrief out, while Andre Johnson and Philip Dorsett (who returned from injury last week) will see added opportunities in 2 and 3 WR sets. Neither Johnson or Dorsett are recommended DFS targets with the Colts current QB situation. Hilton is a nice high-upside GPP target against the Jags this week. Hilton’s target counts have been very up and down dating back to his matchup with Josh Norman and the Panthers, but it’s worth noting that he drew very tough coverage (Norman, Denver’s trio of CBs and Desmond Trufant) in the weeks where his target totals were down. He also had a 5 target game against the Steelers two weeks ago, but the entire Colts offense was out of sync that week.

What a ride it’s been for C-Mike in 2015. He’s now been cut by three teams (including the team that just signed him), but he may actually see his first meaningful action of the season with recently signed Bryce Brown and Fred Jackson being the only healthy backs on the roster. Brown is penciled in as the starter and Jackson will see his fair share of passing down work, but Michael figures to work in a complementary role to Brown on early downs. He’s not a DFS option in Week 15, but depending on how things shake out this week, it’s feasible that he works his way into DFS relevancy in Week 16.

Matthews’ had said earlier this week that if the Eagles had played on Tuesday, he wouldn’t have been able to suit up, but it’s a positive sign that he’s back to practice today. He was still limited, but he now has the next two days to get in a full practice. With the Eagles having one of the weakest receiving groups in the league, Sam Bradford can’t really afford to have Matthews out of action. The Eagles offense as a whole isn’t worth a look in DFS this week, as the receivers are all extremely volatile and they possess very low floors, as do the tight ends. The running game is also very much in flux with DeMarco Murray, Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles sharing work. Mathews is the best bet of the group to see the biggest workload, but all three may end up with similar touch totals, so they’ll continue to sieve value from one another.

It appears very likely that Jonathan Stewart ends up sitting out Sunday against the Giants. Riverboat Ron has stated that Fozzy Whittaker is likely to start at tailback, with Cameron Artis-Payne also set to see game action acting in a complementary role. Mike Tolbert will continue to be a threat in the red-zone, but he’s not a guy that can be counted on to receive an extended workload. We’d expect Whittaker to eat up a good chunk of Stewart’s typical workload – while we aren’t betting on 20+ carries for Whittaker, he is a candidate to see 16-20 touches if he does in fact head up the backfield. Carolina should be able to control the tempo in this one against a Giants team coming off of a short week. Cam Newton remains an elite QB target without Stewart in the lineup, and Greg Olsen will once again enter the week with one of the highest ceilings at the TE position. It’s worth noting that the Panthers aren’t going to be forced to push their starters at this point in the season, especially those that are dealing with any sort of injury.

Vincent Jackson will miss Thursday night’s game with the Rams due to a knee injury. Jackson wasn’t able to practice at all this week and the short turnaround from Sunday obviously isn’t working in his favor. In his stead, Mike Evans will once again act as a target monster, but with Austin Seferian-Jenkins now healthy, some of those looks may now head his way. Adam Humphries and Donteea Dye will act as the #2 and #3 WRs for Jameis Winston, with Humphries having the higher ceiling and floor of the two. Evans and ASJ are the only viable pass-catching targets in Thursday night contests, while Winston isn’t a recommended target against a strong Rams pass defense. Winston is in the bottom half of the QB pool in terms of expected dollar per point output, per the RotoGrinders projections. St. Louis has allowed the 7th fewest FPPG to QBs and the 6th fewest FPPG to WRs.

The Texans have declared Brian Hoyer, suffering from a concussion, out for this weeks game against the Indianapolis Colts. T.J. Yates will get the start against a Colts team that is 6th worst in the league in QB DvP. He makes for an interesting GPP play at just $6,000 on FanDuel and $5,000 on DraftKings but is also a downgrade for the likes of DeAndre Hopkins, Nate Washington, and Cecil Shorts.

Tyler Eifert is still going through the NFL concussion protocol and did not practice today. The Bengals starting TE has been injury prone throughout the season and with Andy Dalton sidelined is no longer the red zone lock that he might have been. He’s questionable at best to play this weekend against the 49ers as the team will probably err on the side of caution. Even if Eifert does play, the 49ers have defended the TE well this season (8th in TE DvP) and there are better options out there at his price point.
