Rob Gronkowski officially ruled out, Amendola listed as questionable
Gronk was never expected to play on Sunday, and his absence will allow for Scott Chandler to play a more pivotal role in the efficient Patriots passing game. Chandler is a very solid target at just $2500 on DraftKings, and is also in play in any format at $5,300 on FanDuel. He’s our top dollar per point play at the TE position on DraftKings. As for Amendola, he’s listed as questionable but is expected to play. He’s likely to see upwards of 8-10 targets against the Eagles and is also in play in any format along with Brandon LaFell, who will have a better WR/CB match-up with the Eagles weak outside CBs.

Andre Ellington ruled out for Sunday
With Chris Johnson and Andre Ellington out, David Johnson will draw the start at RB this week for the Cardinals. It’s still unclear how much of the work he’ll see with Stepfan Taylor and potentially Kerwynn Williams around to steal touches, but we’d expect Johnson to see at least 15 touches in a decent match-up with the Rams. St. Louis owns one of the league’s stronger defenses, but they’ve been more susceptible to the run this season and Johnson was always a red-zone threat even with Chris Johnson and Ellington healthy. David Johnson is a very solid value target in cash games across the industry, but he is a very interesting tournament fade with other appealing options available in his price range (most notably Shaun Draughn).

We’ve been waiting forever for his return, but it looks like it’ll finally come in Week 13. ASJ would have been more appealing as a fantasy target when Vincent Jackson was out of the lineup, and with Cameron Brate having a few nice games with ASJ out, he’s likely to still be involved as well. The Bucs don’t employ a pass-happy attack, so expect somewhere in the range of 4-7 targets for Seferian-Jenkins in his first game back. He’s a potential GPP target, but there are stronger options in his price range (Chandler, Julius Thomas).

Heath Miller is still technically listed as a game-time decision for Sunday night’s game with the Colts, although team beat reporters seem to think he’s likely to sit. This would leave the tight end duties to Jesse James, a rookie from Penn State that has found his way onto the field over the last few weeks. He’d have some GPP appeal due to the tougher match-ups for the Pittsburgh WRs (Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant will have to deal with Vontae Davis at times), and it doesn’t hurt that Ben Roethlisberger is projected to finish as a top 3 QB this week. Assuming Miller sits, James is a viable candidate to see 6-8 targets and would only stand to benefit if Vontae Davis is able to control his side of the field. James would be a nice tournament pivot off of a more popular play like Scott Chandler if you are looking to diversify. The Colts have allowed the 8th most FPPG to tight ends this season.

It’s looking very much like Eifert will not play Sunday against the Browns. That will likely leave the starting tight end duties to Ryan Hewitt, who has acted in a complementary role for the large majority of the season. He’s not much of a receiving threat and isn’t a viable DFS target even at minimum price. A.J. Green’s outlook does improve as a result of this, as Eifert was eating heavily into his red-zone usage this season. Green has been very up and down over the course of the year but is in a solid spot against a banged up Browns secondary. Gio Bernard and Jeremy Hill also stand to benefit with Eifert out. Hill hasn’t seen heavy usage this season, but this Sunday is a great chance for the Bengals to get him going against a Brown defense that has allowed the most rushing yards per game to RBs.

The Bears WR is out this week with a foot injury as the Bears take on the 49ers. The secondary WR options (Bellamy and Mariani) aren’t in play as DFS options but Alshon Jeffery should be a target monster in a plus match up against 49ers pass defense. It also wouldn’t be surprising to see Matt Forte and Jeremy Langford to be more heavily utilized in the pass game. Martellus Bennett, assuming he plays (and it appears he will), should also benefit from this news and makes for a sneaky play at TE as players will likely be off of him due to recent injury concerns and reported displeasure with his role.

Darrell Revis out for Sunday
The star Jets CB has been ruled out for Sunday. This is great news for those thinking of rostering Odell Beckham as he will not not have to worry about any time on Revis Island. He’s an elite play at the WR position in all formats.

As expected, Leonard Hankerson will again sit out this week. This should mean more targets for Roddy White and Jacob Tamme. White’s hard to trust as he hasn’t done anything of value this season but Tamme could be an interesting GPP play against a Bucs team that is somewhat vulnerable to the pass.

As expected, the Eagles backup RB is out for this weekends game against the Patriots. DeMarco Murray is in play against a Patriots defense that is 20th in RB DvP but is more of a GPP option than a cash game play.

Karlos Williams had been doubtful to play all week and the team has officially confirmed that he is out for this weekends game. LeSean McCoy should get the bulk of the work for the Bills and is an excellent play against a Texans defense that is #22 in RB DvP.

The Jaguars #2 WR is out this weekend per the teams official Twitter feed. Marqise Lee will likely step into the role and is in play as a punt at the WR position. The biggest beneficiary, however, is probably Julius Thomas who has stepped up in recent weeks as one of Bortles favorite targets and is a top option at the TE position this weekend.

The star Jets CB continues to miss practice and appears extremely unlikely to play this weekend. This is great news for Odell Beckham Jr. who won’t have to deal with Revis shadowing him on Sunday. Beckham was already a great DFS option but becomes an elite one – perhaps the top play at WR – if Revis doesn’t play.

Ron Rivera made it pretty clear that Philly Brown will be back in action on Sunday, but he wouldn’t say whether or not Brown will end up getting his starting role back from Devin Funchess. Brown wasn’t playing particularly well before his injury and Funchess adds some size to a very small WR group, so at this point it seems likely that Funchess ends up out-snapping Brown against New Orleans. We’ll see if we get any further confirmation before Sunday.

Big Ben appears to be over the head injury that caused him to miss the final drive of this past Sunday’s game with the Seahawks, which is tremendous news for the likes of Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant. Roethlisberger is a top 3 QB this week and can be confidently fired up in any format if you don’t want to shell out the cash for a guy like Tom Brady. As for Roethlisberger’s weapons, it’s unclear whether or not Vontae Davis will shadow Antonio Brown. Davis hasn’t shadowed much since Greg Toler returned to the lineup, but it’s certainly a possibility that he’ll follow Brown around the field. Even if he doesn’t shadow him, Brown will still see Davis on at least 35-40% of his snaps based on where Brown typically lines up.

It’s looking like he’s going to sit out on Sunday, which is great news for the value of LeSean McCoy. McCoy is already among the top plays at the RB position as it is, but with Williams out he’d take on an even bigger workload and wouldn’t be as likely to have his red-zone chances poached. Anthony Dixon will still be around to give McCoy a breather, but he wouldn’t be nearly as big of a threat to McCoy’s overall production. We’d consider Williams doubtful at this point, but will pass along more information when it’s available.
