Miami Marlins Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.290 (Rank: 30) — Strikeout Rate: 19.3% (Rank: 10)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.296 (Rank: 26) — Strikeout Rate: 17.7% (Rank: 9)
Pitches per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 29)
Analysis: DeGrom is the top pitching option on the board tonight. He has been in great form recently, posting a 2.97 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 29.1% over the last month of play. He also draws one of the best matchups on the schedule, as the Marlins are ranked dead last in team wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. Don’t overthink this one, use deGrom as your cash game pitcher tonight.
Pitcher Rating: 98.3
Tom Koehler : FD: $6,600 — DK: $6,100
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 342.0 — SIERA: 4.33 — ERA: 3.95 — K%: 18.0% — BB%: 8.7% — HR/9: 1.0

New York Mets Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.304 (Rank: 24) — Strikeout Rate: 20.1% (Rank: 15)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.390 (Rank: 2) — Strikeout Rate: 15.4% (Rank: 2)
Pitches per PA: 3.87 (Rank: 8)
Analysis: Koehler has not been in the best of form recently, posting a 6.68 ERA (4.83 SIERA) with a strikeout rate of only 15.9%. He does get to pitch at home tonight, but unfortunately, he is facing the Mets at the exact wrong time. Over the last two weeks of play, New York has the second-highest team wOBA. Avoid Koehler in both cash games and tournaments tonight.
Pitcher Rating: 44.1

NY Mets
Even though the Mets draw a favorable matchup against Tom Koehler, their recent surge has brought their prices up. I don’t want to overpay for the Mets in the pitcher-friendly Marlins Park. Michael Conforto is a nice contrarian play in the outfield, but the Mets aren’t really on my radar tonight outside of a stack in a tournament.

All right class, if Jacob deGrom is my top ranked pitcher of the night, where do you think the Marlins’ offense stands? That’s right, they are WAY down at the bottom of the team offense rankings. I should become a teacher.

Pitches per PA: 3.78 (Rank: 23)
Analysis: Garza is one of my favorite pitchers to target hitters against. His strikeout rate is lower than the league average, he has not been in good form, and he walks quite a few batters. He draws a difficult matchup tonight against the Reds and he has to face them in the hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark.
Pitcher Rating: 46.1
Keyvius Sampson : FD: $5,200 — DK: $4,300
Pitching Stats:

Analysis: Sampson has had a forgetful rookie season, posting a 6.43 ERA (4.47 SIERA) with a strikeout rate of 18.8%. He draw a mediocre matchup tonight against the Brewers, but he is a risky play in both cash games and tournaments. The Brewers’ offense has been much better recently and he has to face them in a hitter-friendly ballpark.

The Brewers draw a favorable matchup tonight against Keyvius Sampson, who has given up a .337+ wOBA to both left and right-handed hitters this season. This is a sneaky game to target, as both offenses are in great spots.

Analysis: Morgan has not pitched well this season. In addition to a high SIERA and a low strikeout rate, he has given up 1.8 home runs per nine innings. That could be trouble tonight against the Red Sox in Fenway Park. Morgan should be avoided in all league formats.

Analysis: Kelly has pitched well since coming back from injury and he draws an appealing matchup tonight against the Phillies, who are ranked 29th in team wOBA and 15th in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. Kelly is cheap, he offers good upside, and he should see plenty of run support. I’m hesitant to say this, but I’m contemplating using him as an SP2 on multi-pitcher sites.

The Phillies have been a boom or bust type of offense recently, which is a bit strange since they don’t hit many home runs. They draw a decent matchup tonight against Rick Porcello in the hitter-friendly Fenway Park. Once again, the Phillies are a nice source of value if you need to punt a position or two tonight.

Analysis: Happy pick on Danks day everyone! After the Royals put up 472 runs against a southpaw last night, they have to be licking their chops for tonight’s game against Danks. He has really struggled against right-handed hitters in his career and the Royals are the toughest team to strikeout in all of baseball. I would rather take a chance on a relief pitcher than target Danks tonight.

Analysis: Medlen may have shiny numbers this season, but he has yet to throw more than 78 pitches in any single outing. He will likely be capped at around 80-85 pitches tonight, which severely limits his upside. The good news is that he is priced at a steep discount on DraftKings, which puts him in play as an SP2. Even if he only lasts five innings, he could still rack up a few strikeouts and put himself in line to pick up the win.
