Adam Conley : FD: $5,400 — DK: $4,200
Pitching Stats:

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.305 (Rank: 21) — Strikeout Rate: 22.8% (Rank: 22)
Pitches per PA: 3.78 (Rank: 21)
Analysis: Conley has had mediocre success in his first nine major league appearances, posting a 4.10 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 19.4% and a walk rate of 7.9%. He draws a favorable matchup today against the Braves, who are ranked 25th in team wOBA against left-handed pitching this season. He is a small underdog here though and the Braves have a below-average strikeout rate on the season. Even in the small four game slate, Conley can be avoided in all league formats.
Pitcher Rating: 53.4
Williams Perez : FD: $5,800 — DK: $4,000
Pitching Stats:

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.302 (Rank: 25) — Strikeout Rate: 17.1% (Rank: 7)
Pitches per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 29)
Analysis: Perez has been in terrible form recently, posting a 6.10 SIERA (8.44 ERA) with a strikeout rate of only 8.9%. It’s never a good sign when a pitcher is walking more batters than he is striking out. The Marlins may have the lowest team wOBA against right-handed pitching this season, but that’s not enough to overcome the fact that Perez has been one of the most hittable pitchers in baseball over the last month of play.

Miami
The Marlins may not have the highest team total, but they draw a very favorable matchup against Williams Perez, who has givne up a .394 wOBA to left-handed hitters this season. With only four games in the early slate, all of the left-handed batters in this lineup are in play.

The Braves have one of the worst offenses in all of baseball, but they draw a decent matchup today against rookie Adam Conley, who is only making his sixth career major league start. Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.344 (Rank: 7) — Strikeout Rate: 26.9% (Rank: 30)
Pitches per PA: 3.99 (Rank: 1)
Analysis: Iglesias is coming off of an incredible month of August, where he posted a 2.54 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 30.6%. Those are numbers that rival any pitcher outside of Clayton Kershaw. He is a large underdog today against the Cubs though, and the with wind blowing out to right field, this may not be the ideal time to jump on the bandwagon. Iglesias makes a nice tournament play today, but he is too risky for cash games.
Pitcher Rating: 72.8

Analysis: Hammel may have a 4.88 ERA over the last month of play, but his indicators look good. During that stretch, he has a 3.39 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 26.4%. He draws a mediocre matchup today against the Reds, who are ranked 21st in team wOBA and 11th in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. Hammel is the largest favorite in the early slate, but with the wind blowing out to right, I may lean to Sonny Gray as my top pitching option.
Pitcher Rating: 81.0
Batter Grind Down
Cincinnati
The Reds draw a tough matchup against Jason Hammel, who has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .305 wOBA over the last two seasons. The good news is that the wind is blowing out to right field at a helping rate of around 8 MPH. This game has the highest total in the early slate, which suggests that both offenses could fare well.

Chicago Cubs
The Cubs have the highest team total in the early slate of games, as they are sizable favorites in a game that features a total of 9.0 runs. As mentioned above, the wind is blowing out to right field in Wrigley today. The Cubs also draw a nice matchup against Raisel Iglesias, who has given up a .330 wOBA to left-handed hitters.

Analysis: Heaney has not been in great form over the last month of play, posting a 4.79 SIERA with a strikeout rate of only 13.5%. He draws a bad fantasy matchup today against the A’s, who have the second-lowest strikeout rate of any team against left-handed pitching this season. Given his bad form and his bad matchup, Heaney is an easy pitcher to avoid in both cash games and tournaments.

He draws a favorable matchup today against the Angels, who are ranked 21st in team wOBA and 13th in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. Gray also sees a small boost playing at home in the pitcher-friendly O.co Coliseum. He is the safest pitching option in the four early games.

LA Angels
The Angels draw the worst matchup on the board today, as they square off against Sonny Gray, who has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .270 wOBA over the last two seasons. Boston
The Red Sox draw a difficult matchup against Masahiro Tanaka, who has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .300 wOBA over the last two seasons. They do get to face him at home in the hitter-friendly Fenway Park, but they are secondary options at best today in the early slate of games.

Analysis: Ramirez has been a serviceable value play this season, but his strikeout rate has been down recently. Over the last month of play, he has only struck out 12.6% of the batters that he has faced. While the Orioles do strikeout at a high rate, they also have the ninth-highest team wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. He is a large underdog on the road and can be avoided in all league formats.

Pitches per PA: 3.84 (Rank: 11)
Analysis: Gausman has been my go-to value pitcher recently. He has pitched well over the last month of play, posting a 3.43 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 21.9%. He draws a terrific matchup tonight against the Rays, who are ranked 29th in team wOBA and 25th in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. The price is nice and he is a sizable favorite at home. Gausman makes an excellent SP2 tonight on multi-pitcher sites.

Tampa Bay
The Rays are one of the worst offenses in baseball against right-handed pitching this season. While they do see a small ballpark boost playing in Camden Yards, they draw a difficult matchup against Kevin Gausman, who has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .310 wOBA over the last two seasons.

Baltimore
Erasmo Ramirez is a reverse-splits pitcher. Since the start of last season, he has given up a .355 wOBA to right-handed hitters, while holding lefties to a .290 wOBA. The right-handed bats of Manny Machado and Adam Jones are both elite plays tonight, while Chris Davis and Steve Clevenger are better secondary options.
