David Buchanan : FD: $4,900 — DK: $4,000
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 165.0 — SIERA: 4.47 — ERA: 4.75 — K%: 13.3% — BB%: 7.1% — HR/9: 0.9

Arizona Diamondbacks Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.314 (Rank: 12) — Strikeout Rate: 21.1% (Rank: 23)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.315 (Rank: 19) — Strikeout Rate: 22.8% (Rank: 25)
Pitchers per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 29)
Analysis: Buchanan is one of the cheapest starting pitchers in all of fantasy baseball. There is a reason why he is priced that low. Since the start of the 2014 season, he has a 4.47 SIERA with a low strikeout rate of 13.3%. He is one of the lowest rated pitching options on the board tonight, as he has to face a potent Diamondbacks’ lineup in the hitter-friendly Chase Field.
Pitcher Rating: 34.9
Jeremy Hellickson : FD: $6,700 — DK: $5,600
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 179.1 — SIERA: 4.05 — ERA: 4.87 — K%: 19.1% — BB%: 7.2% — HR/9: 1.3

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.335 (Rank: 9) — Strikeout Rate: 22.9% (Rank: 26)
Pitchers per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 27)
Analysis: Hellickson has been a decent starter for the Diamondbacks this season, but he doesn’t have the type of numbers that are going to jump off the page at you. He draws a surprisingly difficult matchup against the Phillies, who have been red-hot recently. This game has one of the highest totals on the board and both pitchers can safely be avoided in all league formats.
Pitcher Rating: 62.0

Philadelphia
The Phillies continue to put up runs, which is a far cry from where their offense was earlier in the season. They draw a favorable matchup tonight against Jeremy Hellickson, who has .342 wOBA to both left and right-handed hitters over the last two seasons. Load up on the left-handed value bats in this lineup tonight.

The Diamondbacks were my favorite offense to target last night and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. They are my favorite offense to target again tonight, as they square off against David Buchanan, who has given up a .341+ wOBA to both left and right-handed hitters over the last two seasons. San Diego Padres Offense (2015)

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.302 (Rank: 20) — Strikeout Rate: 21.9% (Rank: 21)
Pitchers per PA: 3.83 (Rank: 12)
Analysis: Even though he gets to face a strikeout-happy Padres’ offense in a pitcher-friendly ballpark, Lorenzen should not be on your radar tonight. He has a 5.18 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 16.1% and a walk rate of 12.8%. There is very little fantasy appeal here, even at his dirt-cheap price point.

Cincinnati Reds Offense (2015)

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.299 (Rank: 21) — Strikeout Rate: 20.8% (Rank: 16)
Pitchers per PA: 3.74 (Rank: 24)
Analysis: Rea is making his major league debut tonight. In six starts at the Triple-A level this season, he had a 4.67 FIP with a low strikeout rate. He had a little more success at the Double-A level, but he’s not a pitcher that we should have a ton of confidence in heading into tonight’s start. This isn’t like Luis Severino, who is a top pitching prospect. Let’s take a wait and see approach with Rea and go from there.
Pitcher Rating: 48.8

The Reds see a negative ballpark shift tonight playing in the pitcher-friendly Petco Park. They draw an intriguing matchup against Colin Rea though, who is making his major league debut. These pitching debuts can turn ugly quickly, so the Reds could be a nice source for some contrarian tournament options.

Analysis: Tillman has been in much better form recently, posting a 3.42 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 18.9% over the last month of play. He catches the Mariners at a bad time though, as Seattle is ranked seventh in team wOBA over the last 14 days of play. The total for this game is low, but there are better pitching options at his price point.

Analysis: Walker was on an incredible stretch there for a while and after a couple of subpar outings, everyone jumped off the bandwagon. He’s one of my favorite tournament plays tonight, as he gets to face a strikeout happy Orioles’ offense at home. The upside is certainly there for Walker tonight and you don’t have to pay a pretty penny for him.

Analysis: Ross has had a tremendous rookie season, posting a 2.50 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 26.7%. The sample size is still small, but he has better numbers than his older brother, Tyson. The issue tonight is twofold: the Dodgers are one of the best offenses in baseball against right-handed pitching and run support may be limited with Zack Greinke pitching opposite him.

Analysis: Greinke is coming off of a bad start against the Phillies, but he had himself a day at the plate and he actually still ended up with the win. Don’t let one subpar outing cloud your judgment with Greinke. He has been in dominant form over the last couple of months and he should be able to bounce back nicely against a Nationals’ offense that is ranked 25th in team wOBA over the last 14 days of play. Greinke is the top pitching option on the board tonight.

Analysis: Kazmir may have a 0.63 ERA over the last month of play, but his indicators tell another story. He has a 4.38 SIERA with a low strikeout rate of 16.7% during that stretch. His matchup against the Giants is less than appealing, as they have the eighth-lowest strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season. This is a classic case of a pitcher being overpriced for his matchup.

The Astros may hit left-handed pitching well, but they also strikeout at the ninth-highest rate against southpaws. Bumgarner is right there with Matt Harvey as the number two pitching option tonight.

Houston
The Astros have a lot of power in their lineup, but they draw a bad matchup against Madison Bumgarner and they have to face him in the pitcher-friendly AT&T Park. There are better matchups to exploit tonight.

The Giants draw a mediocre matchup tonight against Scott Kazmir, who has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .305 wOBA over the last two seasons. Buster Posey and Hunter Pence are both secondary plays tonight.
