Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.333 (Rank: 11) — Strikeout Rate: 22.7% (Rank: 26)
Pitchers per PA: 3.99 (Rank: 1)
Analysis: Bolsinger has really been sharp in his recent starts, posting a 3.46 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 24.0%. He does walk a few too many batters here and there, but for the most part, he offers great value at his price point. He draws a plus-matchup tonight in terms of strikeout potential, as the Cubs have the 2nd-highest strikeout rate of any team against right-handed pitching this season. On a night with very few pitching options, Bolsinger is in play as an SP2 on multi-pitcher sites.
Pitcher Rating:68.5
Kyle Hendricks : FD: $6,800 — DK: $6,600
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 154.0 — SIERA: 3.80 — K%: 17.1% — BB%: 4.6% — FB Rate: 32.6% — HR/FB: 7.1%

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.334 (Rank: 10) — Strikeout Rate: 16.0% (Rank: 3)
Pitchers per PA: 3.89 (Rank: 5)
Analysis: Hendricks continues to pitch well for the Cubbies, posting a 2.78 SIERA with a high strikeout rate of 23.8% over the last month of play. He still gets overlooked in daily fantasy every time he takes the mound. While I’d love to recommend him tonight, he draws a very tough matchup against the Dodgers. Los Angeles is ranked 1st in wOBA (.347) against right-handed pitching this season.
Pitcher Rating:55.2

LA Dodgers
Kyle Hendricks is a much better pitcher than he is given credit for. Since the start of 2014, he has held left and right-handed hitters under a .300 wOBA. The Dodgers offense has struggled to get going in this series. At their price points, they are secondary options tonight in Wrigley Field.

Last 14 Days: PA: 59 — wOBA: 0.355 — ISO: 0.278 — wRC+: 124
Analysis: Since the start of last season, Mike Bolsinger has given up a .356 wOBA to left-handed hitters. That has to be music to Rizzo’s ears, who has a 398 wOBA and a .269 ISO against right-handed pitching during that same stretch. Rizzo may not provide the best value at first base, but he certainly gives you the upside that you are looking for in tournaments.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.294 (Rank: 22) — Strikeout Rate: 19.8% (Rank: 15)
Pitchers per PA: 3.73 (Rank: 23)
Analysis: Colon hasn’t had the same type of success that he did earlier in the season. Over his last month of play, he has a 4.08 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 16.6%. He had an awful outing against the Brewers earlier this season in Citi Field and I don’t love him tonight in a re-match in the more hitter-friendly Miller Park. I’d much rather target the pitcher on the other side of the bump.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.278 (Rank: 26) — Strikeout Rate: 21.1% (Rank: 20)
Pitchers per PA: 3.84 (Rank: 8)
Analysis: Nelson hasn’t pitched all that well recently, but a matchup against the struggling Mets should cure his pitching blues. The Mets are ranked 27th in wOBA (.291) against right-handed pitching and 26th in wOBA (.278) over the last 14 days of play. If you are looking for a cheap pitcher tonight, Nelson is my favorite of the bunch. He has good strikeout potential and a decent chance of picking up the win as well.

As mentioned above, the Mets’ offense has really struggled offensively this season, especially against right-handed pitching. While they do see a positive ballpark shift playing in Miller Park, they are secondary options tonight.

Analysis: Braun is expensive and he is not going to be a popular target tonight, as there is a game in Coors Field. He makes a terrific tournament play though, as he hits fastballs well and his opponent, Bartolo Colon throws a ton of them. In fact, 85.7% of Colon’s pitches this season have been fastballs.

Analysis: Duffy will be making his first start in over a month. Since the start of last season, he has a 4.41 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 18.2%. He has never been able to establish himself as an elite pitcher, but he does have decent stuff. He draws a favorable matchup against the Mariners, who have the lowest wOBA (.260) of any team over the last 14 days.

He draws one of the worst matchups on the board, as the Royals are ranked 8th in wOBA (.316) and 1st in strikeout rate (14.3%) against left-handed pitching this season. There is more risk than potential reward tonight with Elias.

Analysis: Kennedy has pitched well over the last month, posting a 3.21 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 23.6%. He had a great outing against the Giants in AT&T Park earlier this season, but I’m not expecting a repeat performance tonight. The Giants are one of the best teams in baseball at putting the ball into play, which is why they have the 4th-lowest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching. There are better options at his price point.

Analysis: Vogelsong has pitched well at home throughout his career and he deserves a look tonight, especially at his cheap price point. The Padres’ offense has struggled to score runs all season and they have the 5th-highest strikeout rate of any team against right-handed pitching. Vogelsong shouldn’t be used in cash games, but he makes an excellent tournament play. He also allows you to load up on the hitters in Coors Field.

San Diego
Ryan Vogelsong has pitched well at AT&T Park throughout his career. He does struggle with left-handed hitters (.357 wOBA allowed), but the Padres’ offense has been struggling for the better part of a month now. The left-handed hitters in this lineup are secondary plays tonight.

Analysis: Belt has been great in recent weeks, but the mini-slump has brought his price down to a very playable level on both FanDuel and DraftKings. Belt draws a favorable matchup tonight against Ian Kennedy. He has a good track record against Kennedy, batting 10-for-28 with seven extra base hits.
