vs. LH Pitching: wOBA: 0.321 (Rank: 9) — Strikeout Rate: 21.9% (Rank: 21)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.339 (Rank: 11) — Strikeout Rate: 20.9% (Rank: 17)
Pitches per PA: 3.88 (Rank: 7)
Analysis: Doubront has not been in good form recently, posting a 4.45 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 22.9% over the last month of play. He offers little fantasy appeal in favorable matchups and next to no fantasy appeal in difficult matchups. The Astros have to be angry after that series against the Rangers and I fully expect them to take it out on Doubront tonight.
Pitcher Rating: 37.0
Mike Fiers : FD: $8,700 — DK: $8,700
Pitching Stats:

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.304 (Rank: 25) — Strikeout Rate: 20.6% (Rank: 14)
Pitches per PA: 3.85 (Rank: 9)
Analysis: After that series against the Rangers, everyone is already writing the Astros off. They obviously need to turn it around shortly, but I still like their chances to win the division. They should be get back on track in a series against the A’s at home. Fiers has pitched well recently and the A’s are ranked 24th in team wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. I won’t be using Fiers on single-pitcher sites, but he is a viable SP2 on multi-pitcher sites.
Pitcher Rating: 83.3

The A’s offense will have a big outing every now and then, but they have been disappointing as a whole in the second half of the season. They can safely be avoided tonight against Mike Fiers, who has really pitched well since joining the Astros.

The Astros draw a terrific matchup against Felix Doubront, who has not fared well against left or right-handed hitters. As mentioned above, the Astros should be playing angry tonight and I fully expect them to unleash their wrath on poor Felix. Load up on Astros in both cash games and tournaments.

Analysis: Bumgarner has been terrific over the last month of play, posting a 2.42 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 31.5%. He draws a mediocre matchup against the Diamondbacks, but he gets to face them at home in the pitcher-friendly AT&T Park. Bumgarner will likely get overlooked tonight with all of the other aces on the board, but he should be considered one of the top plays on the board.

The Giants draw a favorable matchup against Rubby De La Rosa, who has not pitched well recently. The left-handed hitters have the edge in this matchup, but don’t count out Buster Posey, who has been red-hot over the last month of play.
