Noah Syndergaard : FD: $10,100 — DK: $10,900
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 135.1 — SIERA: 3.11 — ERA: 3.39 — K%: 26.4% — BB%: 5.5% — HR/9: 1.1

Cincinnati Reds Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.311 (Rank: 19) — Strikeout Rate: 19.4% (Rank: 10)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.329 (Rank: 13) — Strikeout Rate: 23.1% (Rank: 24)
Pitches per PA: 3.80 (Rank: 18)
Analysis: Syndergaard may have a 4.38 ERA over the last month of play, but those earned runs are inflated by his HR/9 of 1.8 during that stretch. That number will improve moving forward and with his high strikeout rate still intact, he remains a viable fantasy option. The one concern that I have here is that the Mets seem to be gearing up for the postseason. Syndergaard has only topped 98 pitches once in his last seven starts. Given the fact that he is on the road tonight, I am going to take another route at pitcher tonight.
Pitcher Rating: 85.1
Anthony Desclafani : FD: $6,700 — DK: $7,500
Pitching Stats:

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.315 (Rank: 17) — Strikeout Rate: 20.7% (Rank: 11)
Pitches per PA: 3.88 (Rank: 6)
Analysis: Desclafani has pitched well over the last month of play, posting a 2.74 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 24.8%. He draws a mediocre matchup tonight against the Mets, who are ranked 17th in team wOBA over the last 14 days of play. While I don’t have enough confidence in Desclafani to target him in DFS, his recent form does make me question how much I like the Mets’ offense tonight.

NY Mets
The Mets are sizable favorites tonight in Cincinnati, as they take on Anthony Desclafani. This may appear to be a terrific matchup on paper, but Desclafani has pitched very well in his last few outings. The saving grace here is that he has allowed a .340 wOBA to left-handed hitters over the last two seasons.

The Reds draw a difficult matchup tonight against Noah Syndergaard, who has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .300 wOBA this season. Joey Votto is a nice low-owned tournament option, but the rest of this offense can safely be avoided.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.313 (Rank: 19) — Strikeout Rate: 19.2% (Rank: 6)
Pitches per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 29)
Analysis: Weber has had some mild success in his first three major league starts, posting a 4.23 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 13.0%. He has never been a high strikeout pitcher though, which severely limits his upside. Even in a favorable matchup against the Marlins, his floor isn’t high enough to use in cash games and his ceiling isn’t high enough to use in tournaments.
Pitcher Rating: 48.2
Jose Fernandez : FD: $11,400 — DK: $12,700

Pitches per PA: 3.76 (Rank: 24)
Analysis: Fernandez has been terrific since coming back from injury, posting a 2.36 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 36.6%. While the Marlins are not going to let him throw more than 100 pitches or so, he is still the top pitching option on the board tonight. In addition to an elite strikeout rate, he also draws a favorable matchup against the Braves, who are ranked 28th in team wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. Fernandez should cruise through six or seven strong innings, picking up strikeouts along the way.
Pitcher Rating: 96.1

The Braves’ offense has been glossed over for months now and with a matchup against Jose Fernandez, there is no reason to start targeting them tonight. Over the last two seasons, Fernandez has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .320 wOBA.

Analysis: Is this a great story, or what? Rich Hill hadn’t pitched in the major leagues since 2009. That’s over six years, people. He was then called up to make a start and he struck out ten batters over seven scoreless innings of work. He then backed it up by striking out ten more batters against the Blue Jays in the Rogers Centre. Is this comeback the real deal? Only time will tell, but I’m certainly cheering for him. He draws a nice matchup tonight against the Orioles, who are ranked 25th in team wOBA and 27th in strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season. At a price of only $4,300 on DraftKings, he deserves strong consideration in all league formats.

While I’m a sucker for a good comeback story, that doesn’t mean that I’m going to let it cloud my judgment in DFS. Analysis: Kazmir hasn’t been in as good of form as he was earlier in the season, but a 4.28 SIERA and a 19.2% strikeout rate are more than respectable over the last month of play. This is a huge series for both teams, as they are fighting for the American League West title. The Astros are currently 3.5 games behind the Rangers, but they can close that gap quickly with a few wins in this series. Kazmir isn’t the worst pitching option on the board tonight, but if we’ve learned anything from their meetings this season, these two teams can put runs on the board quickly.

The Rangers may not be the most explosive offense against left-handed pitching, but they are playing well recently. Over the last two weeks, they are ranked third in team wOBA. Analysis: I could go into grave detail, but if you are still grinding out the final two weeks of the MLB season, then you should already know this by now. Don’t target pitchers in Coors Field.

LA Dodgers
The Dodgers have the highest team total on the board tonight, as they square off against David Hale in the hitter’s paradise that is Coors Field. Left and right-handed hitters are in play here and we should try to get as much exposure to this offense as our salary cap constraints will allow.

Colorado
Even though the Dodgers have the highest team total on the board tonight, the Rockies are my favorite offense to target. We should all drink Coors beer tonight in honor of the Rockies, because I’m expecting a monster game offensively. They draw a terrific matchup against the struggling Mike Bolsinger, who has allowed a .342 wOBA to left-handed hitters over the last two seasons.
