Pitcher Grind Down

Luis Severino

Atlanta Braves vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.298 (Rank: 28)
Strikeout Rate: 17.8% (Rank: 3)

Severino has had a solid start to his young career. In his first four starts, he has put up a SIERA of 3.55, while posting a high K% at 25.8%. He has the upside and a solid matchup against the Braves, who rank 28th in the league in team wOBA against righties. The one thing holding Severino back from a higher rating is the Braves notoriously strike out at a low rate this year (17.8%) Rating = 7

Salaries: $5,300 FD, $10,400 DK

Matt Wisler

New York Yankees vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.319 (Rank: 9)
Strikeout Rate: 19.6% (Rank: 13)

Wisler has rolled along this season as another one of the young Braves starters thrown into the fire. He has struggled mightily with his command (3.20 BB/9) and has a season SIERA of 4.93. He has a tough matchup against the Yankees, who are ranked ninth in team wOBA this year. Avoid him tonight. Rating = 3.5

Salaries: $5,500 FD, $4,900 DK

Batter Grind Down

NY Yankees

The Yankees are in a great spot tonight against Wisler, who has really had a tough time this year. He has allowed a wOBA of .304 to right handed batters, but more importantly has really struggled against lefties (.464 wOBA allowed). All the big name bats are in play tonight as one of the better offenses to target on the slate.

Freeman gets a mention tonight against Severino, but the rest of this Braves offense should be avoided; they have struggled to put up runs and have a team total of just 3.13 tonight.

Pitcher Grind Down

Garrett Richards

Cleveland Indians vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.313 (Rank: 15)
Strikeout Rate: 19.0% (Rank: 10)

Richards has been a solid pitcher all year long with a 3.95 SIERA and 18.8% strikeout rate. The problem has been the fact that Richards has kept his team in games in most of his starts, yet has not had the same upside he provided last year. His matchup is a bit more difficult tonight against the Indians, who rank 15th in the league in team wOBA against righties. He makes a solid source of an SP2 tonight. Rating = 6.5

Salaries: $8,600 FD, $9,700 DK

Corey Kluber

Los Angeles Angels vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.306 (Rank: 21)
Strikeout Rate: 19.5% (Rank: 11)

Kluber is another pitcher who bounced back well from a rough outing. He is the clear top starter going on the night slate as he comes into this game with an elite 28.1% strikeout rate and a SIERA of 2.73. It is not the greatest matchup in the world, but if he can avoid Trout and Pujols, Kluber should be able to run through the rest of the lineup with ease. Rating = 9*

Salaries: $11,700 FD, $12,900 DK

Batter Grind Down

LA Angels

Avoid the bats against Kluber, who is the top option tonight and has kept righties to a wOBA of .222 and lefties to a .316 mark.

Ubaldo Jimenez

Texas Rangers vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.319 (Rank: 7)
Strikeout Rate: 19.2% (Rank: 8)

Jimenez comes into this game in pretty rough form. Over the last month of play, he has posted a 5.60 ERA (3.95 SIERA). Although his SIERA is down a bit, his strikeouts have also dropped, as he has posted only a 17% K rate over his last six starts. He has a tough matchup in a hitter friendly park tonight and should be avoided. Rating = 4.5

Salaries: $7,800 FD, $7,500 DK

Martin Perez

Baltimore Orioles vs. LH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.309 (Rank: 15)
Strikeout Rate: 21.6% (Rank: 2)

Perez is not a pitcher to that should be played in any formats. He has a SIERA of over four and a very low strikeout rate of 12.9%. His matchup tonight is tough against the Orioles. Rating = 4.5

Salaries: $5,700 FD, $4,600 DK

Batter Grind Down

Baltimore

This game has the highest total of the night slate and both offenses are in play. The Orioles have a great matchup against Perez, who has struggled to get right-handed bats out. He has given up a .362 wOBA to righties on the season, which puts Jones and Machado into clear elite play territory.

Jhoulys Chacin

Oakland Athletics vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.306 (Rank: 21)
Strikeout Rate: 18.0% (Rank: 4)

Chacin was solid in his first start of the year for the Diamondbacks, going 6.1 innings with two earned runs and five strikeouts. He will have to pitch at Chase Field again tonight against a tough matchup in the Athletics, who do not provide enough upside to trust Chacin due to their 18% strikeout rate. Rating = 5

Salaries: $5,700 FD, $6,000 DK

Batter Grind Down

Oakland

This Athletics squad has not done the greatest of jobs scoring runs lately and actually has the 27th lowest wOBA in the league over the last month of play. With that said, they do get a big park boost and Vogt and Reddick are extremely cheap and should be at the top of the order tonight.

Going against a lefty in Chase Field means that Goldschmidt immediately enters the elite play category as he has crushed lefties for a .461 wOBA on the year. Arizona has a 4.60 team total on the night slate and should be targeted in all formats.

Pitcher Grind Down

Jon Lester

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. LH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.331 (Rank: 4)
Strikeout Rate: 20.7% (Rank: 16)

Lester bounced back from his rough start against the Tigers in a big way, allowing just one earned run to the Indians. Even with that Tigers game, Lester has been great over the last month, posting a 2.84 SIERA and sports a 27.4% strikeout rate. The matchup is tough against the Dodgers, who rank fourth in the league against lefty pitching, but Lester is one of the better starting options and should be used for tournament play tonight. Rating = 7.5

Salaries: $10,600 FD, $10,900 DK

Mat Latos

Chicago Cubs vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.311 (Rank: 17)
Strikeout Rate: 23.9% (Rank: 29)

Latos comes into this game struggling since being acquired by the Dodgers. He has allowed 12 total runs in just 14.2 innings pitched for the Dodgers and has not pitched in more than two weeks. He has a tough matchup tonight against the Cubs, whose offense can explode at all times and there are safer options at his price point tonight. Rating = 4.5

Salaries: $6,200 FD, $7,300 DK

Batter Grind Down

Chicago Cubs

With Latos struggling a bit recently, this Cubs squad could be a bit of an off the board stack. They have the power to hit a ton of home runs as we know and if they can get to Latos early, could put up a number of runs tonight. Latos has allowed a .340 wOBA to lefties on the year, putting the big left-handed bats of the Cubs in play tonight.
