Miami Marlins Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.286 (Rank: 30) — Strikeout Rate: 20.1% (Rank: 16)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.259 (Rank: 29) — Strikeout Rate: 18.8% (Rank: 11)
Pitchers per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 26)
Analysis: After a bad month of starts, Harvey finally appears to have found his form. In his last two starts, he has struck out 13 batters over 14 innings of work. He has also walked one batter, which is a good sign that he is attacking the strike zone. He draws a terrific matchup tonight against the Marlins, who are ranked dead last in team wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. He also gets to face them in Marlins Park, which is a massive ballpark. All signs point to another good outing from Harvey. He is the second-highest rated pitcher behind Madison Bumgarner tonight.
Pitcher Rating:87.2
David Phelps : FD: $5,900 — DK: $5,000

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.298 (Rank: 20) — Strikeout Rate: 22.1% (Rank: 22)
Pitchers per PA: 3.87 (Rank: 5)
Analysis: Phelps has been a serviceable starter for the Marlins, but he has a below-average strikeout rate and his lack of run support makes him an easy pitcher to avoid on most nights. He draws a favorable matchup tonight against the Mets, but there are better pitching options in his price range (Drew Hutchison and Luis Severino). Look for the Mets to keep their win streak alive tonight.

The Mets draw a mediocre matchup tonight against David Phelps, but they have had no problem scoring so far in this series. Yoenies Cespedes and Lucas Duda are both in play against the fly-ball pitcher, but Marlins Park is a tough ballpark to hit home runs in.

Analysis: Martinez is looking to bounce after a rough outing against the Rockies. He has been terrific for the Cardinals this season, but his matchup against the Reds is mediocre at best. They have the sixth-lowest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season and he has to face them in the hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark. I love the price point for Martinez tonight, but I’d rather pay a little more in order to target Madison Bumgarner or Matt Harvey.

Analysis: Holmberg is not a recommended fantasy option. In his short stint in the majors, he has an above-average SIERA with a below-average strikeout rate. He walks nearly as many batters as he strikes out and he is a sizable underdog tonight against the Cardinals.

Analysis: Bumgarner may have a 4.85 ERA over the last month of play, but his indicators still look good, as he has a 3.42 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 22.5% during that stretch. He draws a terrific matchup tonight against the Braves, who are ranked 25th in team wOBA and 16th in strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season. Bumgarner is a sizable favorite tonight and he is the top pitching option on the board.

His biggest problem has been his command, as he has walked 11.3% of the batters that he has faced. He should be avoided tonight against the Giants, who are ranked fifth in both team wOBA and strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season.

Analysis: Kazmir is a very good left-handed pitcher, although he hasn’t been pitching as well as his 0.35 ERA over the last month would suggest. While the Rangers may not hit left-handed pitching well, they are a very potent offense and Kazmir has to face them in the hitter-friendly Globe Life Park. Analysis: Martinez is one of the most hittable pitchers in baseball and his matchup against the Astros is not one that suits his skill set. The Astros strikeout at a very high clip, so if you are able to get them to swing and miss, you have a chance. Unfortunately, Martinez doesn’t have a lot of that in his repertoire, as he has a very low strikeout rate of 13.1% over the last two seasons. He should be avoided in all league formats tonight.

Analysis: Jungmann has pitched well in his rookie season, posting a 3.81 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 20.5%. He draws a favorable matchup tonight against the Padres, who are ranked 26th in both team wOBA and strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. The upside is there, but he is a little too expensive for my tastes. I’d rather pay up for Madison Bumgarner Harvey”:/players/matt-harvey-13517 or shed some salary with Drew Hutchison Severino”:/players/luis-severino-21546.

Batter Grind Down
San Diego
The Padres’ offense has been less than inspring this season. They draw a difficult matchup tonight against Taylor Jungmann. The only fantasy option that is on my radar here is Alexi Amarista. He could make a nice punt play at shortstop if he is batting leadoff again.

Milwaukee
The Brewers’ offense has not fared well recently, but they draw a favorable matchup tonight against Ian Kennedy, who has given up a .321 wOBA to left-handed hitters over the last two seasons. Scooter Gennett remains a great value play at second base, while Adam Lind is a nice tournament play at his discounted price point.
