Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.294 (Rank: 27) — Strikeout Rate: 22.4% (Rank: 22)
Pitches per PA: 3.91 (Rank: 3)
Analysis: Hill has been one of my favorite stories in baseball, as we near the end of the regular season. He has had three straight starts striking out at least ten batters. He joins Jon Lester as the only Red Sox pitcher to accomplish that feat in the last 100 years. It has been a truly incredible three-game stretch and I’d love to see him throw another gem tonight against the Yankees. While he is a sizable underdog in a difficult matchup, his price is still only $4,300 on DraftKings. At that price, he makes a great tournament play and he deserves to be in the SP2 conversation as well.
Pitcher Rating: 79.6
CC Sabathia : FD: $7,500 — DK: $6,400
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 208.1 — SIERA: 3.83 — ERA: 4.92 — K%: 19.9% — BB%: 6.2% — HR/9: 1.6

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.301 (Rank: 23) — Strikeout Rate: 21.2% (Rank: 12)
Pitches per PA: 3.96 (Rank: 2)
Analysis: Sabathia may have a 2.25 ERA over the last month of play, but his peripheral statistics tell another story. During that same stretch, he has a 4.26 SIERA with a walk rate of 9.9%. While the Red Sox don’t have a ton to play for, this is still a rivalry game and they will do everything they can to make the Yankees’ playoff push as hard as they can. Sabathia should be avoided in what is expected to be a high scoring game in Yankee Stadium.
Pitcher Rating: 67.6

Boston
The Red Sox are looking to sweep the Yankees with a win tonight. Regardless of what happens tonight, the Yankees will likely still make the playoffs, but Boston can end their season on a high note by sweeping their rival. They draw a favorable matchup against CC Sabathia, who has allowed a .378 wOBA to right-handed hitters over the last two seasons.

NY Yankees
The Yankees have lost three in a row and they now only have a 2.5-game lead over the Astros for the top Wildcard spot in the American League. They will look to right the ship with a win tonight, but they will have their hands full with Rich Hill, who has been terrific in his first three starts of the season. Even though Hill is a great story, the right-handed hitters in this lineup are in play tonight.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.330 (Rank: 9) — Strikeout Rate: 19.5% (Rank: 8)
Pitches per PA: 3.90 (Rank: 4)
Analysis: Duffey comes into tonight’s start in great form, posting a 3.51 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 22.0% over the last month of play. He draws a difficult matchup against the Indians though, as they have the fifth-lowest strikeout rate of any team against right-handed pitching this season. Duffey is in play as a tournament option on FanDuel, but he is a little too expensive tonight on DraftKings.
Pitcher Rating: 68.2
Trevor Bauer : FD: $7,900 — DK: $7,500

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.327 (Rank: 11) — Strikeout Rate: 18.3% (Rank: 4)
Pitches per PA: 3.84 (Rank: 13)
Analysis: Bauer has not fared well in his recent starts, posting a 4.52 SIERA (9.49 ERA) with a walk rate of 14.3%. The good news is that he takes on a Twins’ offense that is ranked 26th in team wOBA and 23rd in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. Bauer provides good strikeout potential at his price point, as he will look to end his season on a high note.
Pitcher Rating: 67.6

The Twins may not have the highest team total on the board tonight, but they draw a favorable matchup against Trevor Bauer, who has allowed a .320+ wOBA to both left and right-handed hitters this season. The Indians draw a mediocre matchup tonight against Tyler Duffey, who has been in good form recently. Jason Kipnis makes a great play on FanDuel tonight at his discounted price point — $2,900. Francisco Lindor is also in play, as he has been swinging a hot bat recently.

Analysis: Fernandez was knocked around in last start, but he still comes in with good form, posting a 3.31 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 25.8% over the last month of play. He draws a favorable matchup against the Rays, who are ranked 25th in team wOBA and 24th in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. Fernandez has thrown at least 95 pitches in each of his last two starts and his pitch count should be close to that again tonight. Even though he is pitching on the road, Fernandez is right up there with Stephen Strasburg as the top pitching option available tonight.
Pitcher Rating: 95.6

Pitches per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 29)
Analysis: Odorizzi has not been in the best of form recently, posting a 4.46 SIERA with a walk rate of 8.7% over the last month of play. The good news is that he gets to pitch at home against a powerless Marlins’ offense. On the season, the Marlins are ranked 29th in team wOBA against right-handed pitching. Despite the great matchup, Odorizzi will get overlooked tonight with Jose Fernandez pitching opposite him. He makes a terrific tournament play on both FanDuel and DraftKings.

Analysis: Strasburg has really pitched well over the last month of play, posting a 1.57 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 41.4% over the last month of play. He draws a terrific matchup against the Braves, who have the second-lowest team wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. The Nationals won’t over-extend Strasburg tonight, but he has topped 100 pitches in each of his last four starts. The only knock on Strasburg tonight is that he is pitching on the road, but that’s not a good enough reason to fade him.

Analysis: Holland has not been in good form recently, posting a 4.67 SIERA with a walk rate of 7.9% over the last month of play. With both of these teams treating this as a must-win game, I expect both offenses to show up in a big way tonight. This game has the total set at 9.0 runs, which is tied for the highest on the board. Both pitchers can safely be avoided in all league formats.

LA Angels
The Angels lost a tough one last night against the A’s at home. Rather than holding a half-game lead over the Astros, they are now a half-game behind in the race for the final Wildcard spot. They need a big offensive outing tonight and luckily they have the matchup to do just that. Derek Holland has allowed a .326 wOBA to right-handed hitters over the last two seasons.

Texas
The Rangers may not need a win as badly as the Angels, but they want to wrap up their division, so they still have every reason to try to win tonight’s game. They draw a favorable matchup tonight against Andrew Heaney, who has allowed a .328 wOBA to right-handed hitters over the last two seasons.
