Not only is he in bad form, but he also has one of the worst matchups on the board. The Astros are ranked seventh in team wOBA against right-handed pitching and they lead the majors in home runs.

Analysis: Keuchel is one of the largest favorites on the board tonight and for good reason. He has been terrific over the last month of play, posting a 2.45 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 26.6%. The Tigers have good numbers against left-handed pitching, but some of that is skewed by Miguel Cabrera and Yoenis Cespedes, who won’t be in the lineup tonight. Keuchel is an elite ground-ball pitcher that has improved his strikeout rate this season. He will likely be the least owned of the pitchers priced above $10,000 tonight, yet he is actually one of the safest.

Detroit

The Tigers are one of my least favorite offenses to target tonight. Since the start of the 2014 season, Keuchel has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .290 wOBA. Avoid the Tigers’ offense, as they will fear the beard of Dallas.

Analysis: Garcia may not be pitching as well as his 2.00 ERA over the last month would suggest, but he is still pitching well. The Marlins have good numbers against southpaws this season, but it’s hard not to like Garcia when you look at Miami’s lineup. He is a large favorite, he is pitching at home, and he is economically priced. Garcia is a viable SP2 tonight on multi-pitcher sites.

Miami

The Marlins draw a difficult matchup tonight against Jaime Garcia, who is actually very efficient against right-handed hitters. They have one of the lowest team totals on the board and can be avoided in all league formats tonight.

The Reds acquired him in the Johnny Cueto trade. The price point is appealing, but the matchup is not. The Dodgers are ranked sixth in team wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. The best route is to take a wait-and-see approach with Lamb.

There are better pitching options at his price point tonight.

While I expect him to pitch well again tonight, I’m not sure that I want to pay up for him in a road start against the Giants, who are ranked fourth in both team wOBA and strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. Scherzer is a better play on FanDuel ($11,400) than he is on DraftKings ($14,600), but he may be a little overpriced for his matchup.
