Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.287 (Rank: 23) — Strikeout Rate: 21.8% (Rank: 22)
Pitchers per PA: 3.93 (Rank: 3)
Analysis: Graveman has pitched better since being called back up from the minors, but he is a low strikeout pitcher with a bad matchup tonight against the Indians. Cleveland is ranked seventh in strikeout rate (18.9%) against right-handed pitching and third in pitches per plate appearance this season. Graveman is an easy avoid tonight in all league formats.
Pitcher Rating:40.3
Danny Salazar : FD: $8,700 — DK: $8,900

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.290 (Rank: 22) — Strikeout Rate: 17.7% (Rank: 5)
Pitchers per PA: 3.88 (Rank: 7)
Analysis: Salazar is a high-strikeout pitcher with a bad strikeout matchup. The A’s are ranked tenth in wOBA (.320) and fourth in strikeout rate (17.5%) against right-handed pitching this season. The A’s also take a ton of pitches, which drives up pitch counts. Salazar’s price has come down across the industry though, which does improve his fantasy appeal tonight. I’d still rather target a safer pick in cash games (i.e. Madison Bumgarner or Cole Hamels), but Salazar is a decent play at his price point.
Pitcher Rating:84.2
Batter Grind Down
Oakland
The A’s draw a tough matchup against Danny Salazar, but his splits against left and right-handed hitters haven’t exactly been dominant. Since the start of last season, he has given up a .314 wOBA to hitters from both sides of the plate.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.319 (Rank: 10) — Strikeout Rate: 17.9% (Rank: 7)
Pitchers per PA: 3.98 (Rank: 1)
Analysis: Pineda is having a great season, but there are very few times when I will target a pitcher against the Red Sox in Fenway. Tonight is not one of them. The Red Sox are ranked tenth in wOBA (.320) and second in strikeout rate (16.3%) against right-handed pitching this season. They also average the most pitches per plate appearance of any team in baseball. There is more risk than potential reward tonight with Pineda.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.285 (Rank: 24) — Strikeout Rate: 20.9% (Rank: 18)
Pitchers per PA: 3.89 (Rank: 5)
Analysis: Buchholz has really pitched well recently, posting a 3.09 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 21.1%. Much like Michael Pineda, the problem is the matchup. The Yankees are ranked fifth in wOBA (.328) and seventh in strikeout rate (18.9%) against right-handed pitching this season. The Yankees also average the fifth-most pitches per plate appearance. Both of these pitchers should be avoided tonight, as there is usually a lot of runs scored between these two teams.

NY Yankees
The Yankees are one of the best offenses in baseball against right-handed pitching and they are only going to get better now that Jacoby Ellsbury is back in the mix. Target the left-handed bats in this one, as Clay Buchholz has given up a .322 wOBA to hitters from the left side of the plate over the last two seasons.

Pitchers per PA: 3.71 (Rank: 28)
Analysis: Leake has been very up and down this season. He’ll follow up a terrific outing with a terrible one and then he’ll bounce back in his next start. It’s hard to trust him in cash games at this point, even in a favorable matchup against the Marlins. He does see a strikeout-boost in this matchup though and his price point is very affordable on both FanDuel and DraftKings. He’s more of a tournament play, but he could make an interesting SP2 if you want to load up on hitters on DraftKings.

Analysis: Phelps is like the kid at prom that was too shy to ask any of the girls to dance. In other words, he doesn’t see any action. He is rarely on anyone’s radar in daily fantasy and that’s not going to change tonight against the Reds, who are a competent offense. Like the wallflower, Phelps will go unnoticed tonight against Cincinnati.

David Phelps is a reverse-splits pitcher, hitters from both sides of the plate are in play against him. The problem here is the ballpark. There are teams with much higher totals tonight, which leaves the Reds as secondary plays tonight.

Analysis: Kennedy has pitched well over the last two seasons, posting a 3.53 SIERA with a high strikeout rate of 23.7%. His ERA is much higher than his SIERA, which keeps his price tag at an affordable place on both FanDuel and DraftKings. The only issue with Kennedy is his matchup. The Rangers are ranked seventh in wOBA (.321) against right-handed pitching and he has to face them in the hitter-friendly Globe Life Park. He should FINALLY get run support tonight, but he’ll likely give up a few runs of his own.

Even though the Padres’ offense has been downright awful this season, they “should” be able to get it going tonight. Avoid Rodriguez in all league formats.

Analysis: After Verlander’s disappointing 2014 campaign, Kate Upton knew when to jump ship. Losing your pitching form and your girl is not a contrarian play that is not going to pay off my friend. Verlander has been very hittable this season and that should continue tonight against the Twins, who have the sixth-highest team wOBA (.329) over the last two weeks of play.

Ervin Santana : FD: $7,300 — DK: $7,800

Detroit Tigers Offense (2015)

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.390 (Rank: 1) — Strikeout Rate: 18.7% (Rank: 11)
Pitchers per PA: 3.83 (Rank: 11)
Analysis: Santana looked great in his first start of the season, striking out eight batters while only giving up a single run in eight innings of work. He’s a pitcher that can string together dominant performances. The price point is very appealing, I just wish he wasn’t facing the Tigers. Detroit is ranked second in wOBA (.331) against right-handed pitching and first in wOBA (.390) over the last 14 days.

Detroit
The Tigers face Ervin Santana, who is making his second start of the season. Santana gave up a .333 wOBA to left-handed hitters last season, so if you are targeting any of the hitters here, target the ones that can hit from the left side of the plate.

Minnesota
Justin Verlander has really struggled in his first few starts this season. The Twins’ offense is a very sneaky stack tonight and I don’t mind targeting a few of their hitters in cash games as well. The right-handed bats have the splits in their favor, as Verlander has some serious reverse-splits.
