Chicago Cubs Offense (2015)

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.377 (Rank: 3) — Strikeout Rate: 24.7% (Rank: 29)
Pitches per PA: 3.99 (Rank: 1)
Analysis: Lorenzen is having a rough time getting outs these days. He has an 11.25 ERA over the last month of play and a 5.28 SIERA since the start of last season. He should be avoided against the Cubs, who have been very tough on right-handed pitching recently. There is little to no fantasy appeal here.
Pitcher Rating: 33.7
Kyle Hendricks : FD: $7,500 — DK: $6,700
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 222.2 — SIERA: 3.70 — ERA: 3.52 — K%: 18.7% — BB%: 5.4% — HR/9: 0.7

Cincinnati Reds Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.305 (Rank: 23) — Strikeout Rate: 19.4% (Rank: 10)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.305 (Rank: 24) — Strikeout Rate: 20.9% (Rank: 16)
Pitches per PA: 3.77 (Rank: 23)
Analysis: Hendricks is one of the biggest favorites on the board tonight. While he has given up a lot of runs recently, his indicators still look good. Over the last month of play, he has a 3.51 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 22.3%. He draws a mediocre matchup tonight against the Reds, who are ranked 23rd in team wOBA and tenth in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. Like Bartolo Colon, he is a viable SP2 tonight, although he has better strikeout potential.
Pitcher Rating: 74.8
Batter Grind Down
Cincinnati
The Reds draw a difficult matchup tonight against the underrated Kyle Hendricks, who has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .315 wOBA over the last two seasons. Joey Votto and Todd Frazer are nice tournament plays here, but the Reds can safely be avoided in cash games.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.300 (Rank: 28) — Strikeout Rate: 24.6% (Rank: 28)
Pitches per PA: 3.88 (Rank: 6)
Analysis: Nuno has been a serviceable starter this season, but he is not a great option in daily fantasy baseball. He has a below-average strikeout rate and he gives up a lot of home runs. That does not bode well for his matchup tonight against the Astros, who hit as many home runs as anyone. Nuno is an easy pitcher to avoid tonight.
Pitcher Rating: 49.1
Dallas Keuchel : FD: $11,200 — DK: $12,100

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.352 (Rank: 6) — Strikeout Rate: 24.3% (Rank: 27)
Pitches per PA: 3.87 (Rank: 8)
Analysis: Keuchel has been terrific over the last month of play, posting a 2.91 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 23.9%. He has been tough on both left and right-handed hitters and he draws a favorable matchup tonight against the Mariners, who are ranked 16th in team wOBA and 22nd in strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season. He will likely be lower owned than Chris Archer and David Price, but he has just as much upside.
Pitcher Rating: 95.2

Seattle
The Mariners draw one of the toughest matchups on the board tonight, as they square off against Dallas Keuchel, who has held left-handed hitters to a .219 wOBA and right-handed hitters to a .283 wOBA. Nelson Cruz is the only fantasy option on my radar from the Mariners.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.312 (Rank: 20) — Strikeout Rate: 21.9% (Rank: 20)
Pitches per PA: 3.81 (Rank: 15)
Analysis: Gonzalez has been in decent form recently, posting a 3.95 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 22.1% over the last month of play. He draws a favorable matchup tonight against the Cardinals, who are ranked 24th in team wOBA and 25th in strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season. The issue here is that he has to face them on the road. He’s in play on DraftKings as an SP2, but I would rather take my chances with Kyle Hendricks at home.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.334 (Rank: 10) — Strikeout Rate: 23.7% (Rank: 26)
Pitches per PA: 3.78 (Rank: 22)
Analysis: Lackey is one of the most consistent starters in baseball. By that, I don’t mean that he is one of the best pitchers in baseball, but that we know what we can expect out of him. He will keep his earned runs down and give his team a chance to win, while striking out batters at a decent rate along the way. He is a bit over-priced for his matchup against the Nationals, though. I’d rather pay up for one the aces on the mound, or save some salary cap space with Kyle Hendricks.
Pitcher Rating: 73.4

He draws a bad matchup tonight against the A’s, who have the second-lowest strikeout rate of any team against left-handed pitching this season. Santiago can be avoided in all league formats.
