DFS Tournament Report: DraftKings King of San Francisco Coverage

Live Contest Link

Chris Gimino could never mount a rally and will have to settle for a 10th place finish and a $2,500 payday. lifehealthBAR.com led wire-to-wire with his almost cash game like lineup (he didn’t have more than three players from any one team and only had one team, the Red Sox, with that many) to take home the $20,000 1st place prize and become the King of San Francisco. drdignam would finish in second with randlan, awesemo, and thechubasco rounding out the top five. Congrats to all the participants and thank you for following along tonight! If you won swag, don’t forget to follow the instructions I listed in the comments to receive it!

All the games are in the 8th inning or later (Toronto-Houston is in extra innings) and lifehealthBAR.com has a 20+ point lead on drdignam with randlan ( a highly ranked TPOY player) sitting in 3rd place. It doesn’t look like Mr. Gimino is going to emerge from his his current 10th place standing barring a barrage of runs but we’re still proud of him!

What is the name of the daily article Chris writes Monday through Friday? First person to respond in the comments with the name of the article will win a RG t-shirt!

A Freddie Freeman bomb has given lifehealthBAR.com a fairly substantial lead (and moved awesemo and his Atlanta stack into the top 5) as we head into the last few innings of this modified evening slate. Here are the current standings… We’ll do one more swag giveaway at the end so stay tuned!

Chris is going to need the Texas-Minnesota game to score some runs as he is languishing currently in 10th place. lifehealthBAR.com continues to lead the way over Drdignam (lineup below) who is chasing with a Cole/Pomeranz SP lineup coupled with no massive stacks but instead going with upside power bats like Giancarlo Stanton (homer already) and players in good spots like Adam Jones and Benintendi.

I’ll do another standings update and lineup review here in a minute but for now let’s give away some swag. Outside of Chris Gimino and awesemo, which of the 10 remaining players in this contest has the highest ranking in RotoGrinders TPOY race and what is their rank? First correct answer in the comments wins their choice of an RG hat or t-shirt.

Hopefully we’re getting some more readers now. The first person to comment with Chris Gimino’s lowest owned (in terms of percentage) player in his lineup will win a RG t-shirt!

8:40 pm ET

lifehealthBAR.com continues to lead the way. One of the players in this live final is none other than the current #1 ranked TPOY player awesemo. His lineup is below and it’s easy to see the contrarian approach he took stacking the Braves with a few chalk options as one-offs.

Here’s our first look at the standings and it’s lifehealthBAR.com who holds the top spot currently with help from homers from Joey Votto and Andrew Benintendi. Gimino’s team finally got on the board with a home run from Nomar Mazara – still waiting on our first comment. Whomever does so will win a RG t-shirt!

Here’s a look at Chris Gimino’s lineup… he went with two of the chalk options at SP in Castillo and Pomeranz, stacked Baltimore and then did a mini-game stack of the Rangers-Twins game.

It’s not surprising to see Chris Gimenez at the top of the ownership as he provides a cheap option, hitting clean up, in a good spot (facing a lefty in Cole Hamels with a team run total topping 4.5). There was also a lot of traction for Salazar and he was extremely affordable so seeing him top 50% is also not that surprising. The same could be said for Castillo as those two SP’s were the clear chalk of the day at the position. The 50%+ hitters were Chris Davis (left-handed power bat facing righty with team having massive 6+ run total), Brian Dozier (see Hamels note above), and Mookie Betts (6+ team total).

We’ll come back with another update at the top of the hour. First person to comment on this article will win a RotoGrinders t-shirt!
