Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.301 (Rank: 20) — Strikeout Rate: 26.2% (Rank: 30)
Pitchers per PA: 3.81 (Rank: 11)
Analysis: Bettis has been one of the Rockies best starters this season, although that really doesn’t say a whole lot. He has pitched well over the last month with a 3.31 SIERA and a strikeout rate of 22.6%, but he draws a very difficult matchup against a potent Astros’ offense. The Astros lead the majors in home runs and Bettis is listed as one of the biggest underdogs on the board. There is more risk than potential reward here.
Pitcher Rating:50.6
Dallas Keuchel : FD: $9,700 — DK: $9,600

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.334 (Rank: 6) — Strikeout Rate: 21.6% (Rank: 23)
Pitchers per PA: 3.74 (Rank: 22)
Analysis: Keuchel has been outstanding this season. He has the highest ground ball rate of any starter in baseball, which accomplishes two things. It keeps most hits against him to singles and it helps him get out of jams. Keuchel rarely walks batters, which helps him pitch deep into games. He draws a favorable matchup tonight against the Rockies, who have the highest strikeout rate of any team against left-handed pitching this season. Keuchel is right there with Francisco Liriano and Masahiro Tanaka as the top pitching options of the night.

Dallas Keuchel has been one of the elite pitchers in the American League this season. He is efficient against both left and right-handed hitters, leaving the Rockies as secondary fantasy options tonight.

Analysis: Springer is a speed/power threat with a great matchup tonight against Chad Bettis, who has given up a .381 wOBA to right-handed hitters. Springer has good power against right-handed pitching, posting a .217 ISO since the start of 2014. The Astros hit more home runs than any team in the majors, which makes them an intriguing stack tonight against Bettis.

Analysis: May continues to surprise people with the way that he has been pitching. Over the last month of play, he has posted a 3.02 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 24.2%. He may not be a household name, but he deserves consideration in tournaments tonight. The Cardinals’ offense is banged up and they have been reeling in recent weeks, ranking 24th in wOBA (.289) and 27th in strikeout rate (23.2%). It’s never good when Mark Reynolds is batting clean up against a right-handed pitcher.

Pitchers per PA: 3.80 (Rank: 14)
Analysis: The Cardinals’ game against the Royals was postponed yesterday, so John Lackey will draw the start tonight, pushing Michael Wacha start back a day. Lackey is having another good season for the Cardinals. He has a decent strikeout rate and he’s a sizable favorite tonight at home. He draws a favorable matchup against the Twins, who are ranked 29th in wOBA (.288) and 24th in strikeout rate (21.2%) against right-handed pitching. Lackey is in play, but he doesn’t stand out as a must-start tonight.

The Twins are one of the worst hitting teams against right-handed pitching this season. They draw an average matchup against John Lackey in the pitcher-friendly Busch Stadium. Brian Dozier is really the only option that stands out tonight on the Twins.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.334 (Rank: 6) — Strikeout Rate: 20.8% (Rank: 20)

Analysis: Ray has held his opponents to two earned runs or fewer in each of his first three starts this season. His peripheral statistics don’t look great though, as he has a 4.89 SIERA with a low strikeout rate of 16.0%. He draws the matchup against the Angels at a bad time, as they are ranked 6th in wOBA over the last two weeks of play. Ray can safely be avoided in all league formats.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.302 (Rank: 19) — Strikeout Rate: 20.2% (Rank: 16)
Pitchers per PA: 3.65 (Rank: 30)
Analysis: Weaver has one of the lowest strikeout rates of any starter in baseball. Over the last month, he has a 4.87 SIERA with a low strikeout rate of 12.1%. He has had a few solid outings this season, but it’s hard to target a pitcher that can’t make up for his mistakes by striking hitters out. He can safely be avoided tonight against the Diamondbacks, who are ranked right around the major league average in wOBA and strikeout rate against right-handed pitching.

Analysis: Hahn’s strikeout numbers are down a bit this season, but he has pitched pretty well for Oakland. He heads back to San Diego tonight to take on his former team. The Padres are one of the best pitching matchups in daily fantasy, as they are ranked 25th in wOBA (.295) and 26th in strikeout rate (21.8%) against right-handed pitching this season. This game has a low total and it will be played in the pitcher-friendly Petco Park. Of the two pitchers in this matchup, Hahn is the better play dollar for dollar.

Analysis: Ross is high-strikeout pitcher with excellent numbers at home throughout his career. While he is certainly in play tonight, he is best suited as a tournament play. He draws a difficult matchup against the A’s, who are ranked 7th or better in wOBA, strikeout rate, and pitches per plate appearance against right-handed pitching. The A’s are very tough on opposing pitchers, which is why I’d rather pay up for one of the elite pitching options in cash games.

Analysis: Since the start of 2014, Tim Hudson has given up a .329 wOBA to left-handed hitters. That bodes well for a Mariners’ lineup that consists primarily of lefties. Smith is a good punt option in the outfield tonight. He has good power against right-handed pitching and he has been swinging a hot bat over the last two weeks with a .381 wOBA and a .243 ISO.

Analysis: Belt’s price has come down on both FanDuel and DraftKings, which gives us an buy-low opportunity tonight. He has always had great power against right-handed pitching, posting a .372 wOBA and a .246 ISO over the last two seasons. He draws a favorable matchup against Taijuan Walker, who has an above average fly-ball rate and HR/FB rate.
