: One of my favorite things about MLB DFS is just how much people rely on a pitchers previous start as an indicator. Well in the case of Sale it was a horrible outing against Cleveland and with this price point and Kershaw and Strasburg available it would not shock me to see him carry a way lower ownership than he should against this Royals squad today. Even as Sale has “pitched to contact” more this season his strikeout rate is still above 25% giving him plenty of upside. This Kansas City team has struggled mightily against left handed pitching this season and are a clear mark for me with Sale today. He is playable in all formats in my opinion but is a fantastic tournament choice as most will default to Kershaw with the similar salary.

: The fantasy relevance of Volquez sadly left after just a couple starts to the season where he really shined. His strikeout numbers are too low to risk it here for a guy that is not likely to pick up the win bonus. We can safely avoid him today.

The White Sox are not exactly a potent offense but do have some guys that can hurt Volquez here. Sticking with the top five in the lineup is probably the wise move with focus on and .

With Sale on the mound I honestly do not want anything to do with this Royals offense. The best thing they have going for them is a lower strikeout rate which does nothing for us in terms of rostering them in daily fantasy.

: Lackey is likely to be one of the most overlooked good options on the day and a lot of it has to do with his pricing. You will find it hard to fit in the top tier studs and still have enough left over for Lackey on multiple pitcher sites and as such I think he makes for a great tournament play just about everywhere. He offers plenty of strikeout potential mixed with the ability to limit the oppositions run production. A date with a poor Phillies offense should see him post a good line here and that offense will always have him in line for a win bonus.

With a solid pitcher taking the mound against them this is one of those times where Chicago feels like a sneaky stack despite consistently producing against right handed pitching. : Oh man that DraftKings price point is trying to reel us in good today. You think of the Rangers as a left handed lineup that should not be able to hit southpaws but in reality they have constructed a pretty solid group of right handers that can handle the bat. His recent form mixed with an under the radar Texas lineup has me mostly fading Liriano. Your best bet would be to plug him into an already risky stack and that is about it.

: Just when you think the regression monster has finally come to take away the Perez nonsense he goes out and produces six innings of scoreless ball. He is absolutely a candidate to regress and this is absolutely a Pirates team that can start the process but I feel like I say that every time out with Perez. All things considered he is not a guy you want to roster for DFS because of his low strikeout rate but the real issue is how much we stack against him.

The Pirates rank near the top in just about every statistical category we use to measure success against left handed pitching. is a guy who gets a lot of crap for being in the middle of the order against right handed pitching but can hold his own against lefties and comes at a decent salary. The numbers say to load up against Perez here but we have been down this road before.

As I mentioned this Rangers squad is probably better against left handed pitching than most people realize and as such there are a few pieces you can deploy in your lineups today. The obvious choice is who is not going to come cheap but also provides the most consistency of the bunch. If you are looking for a bit more value then I like the salary for on just about every site.

: Tropeano would be a risk reward type option today against an Astros squad that will strikeout in bunches but also can put up a crooked number real fast. The numbers suggest that Tropeano is due for a bit of regression and as such I do not trust him as much more than a secondary option for a tournament team.
Batter Grind Down
Houston
The Astros are the epitome of a boom or bust offense as they rank near last in strikeout rate against right handed pitching but are also top five in ISO making them dangerous. All of the usual suspects are in play here but if you are hunting for a little bit of value we have seen one start to swing a better bat lately and he has all the power for a monster game.

LA Angels
The Angels are starting to get things done at the plate and will likely carry a low ownership on the day making them an intriguing play today. Taking a look at the last 14 wOBA and you will see a squad that has a pretty good spread of hitting up and down the lineup. Obviously Trout is in play but do not forget about Calhoun and Pujols as options too.

: Hill has been fantastic on the season posting a solid strikeout rate as well as limiting the opposition in a number of key categories. The problem is that his price is at the point where we cannot pair him up with one of the top three guys and this Detroit team is too dangerous for him to be our number one. As such I will not have much if any exposure to him today.

Detroit
If you look at the season numbers you would never know just how good this Tigers team should be against left handed pitching. This is a case where a team built to hit lefties is starting to peak at the plate and while their pricing makes it difficult to stack I would suggest getting a piece oof this lineup in yours today.

Pelfrey is the cure to all that ails your lineup and for the A’s it has been a tough go against right handers so far. continues to hit the ball hard no matter which hand they throw it with and has a solid price point while and also pack a punch.
