Kevin Gausman: It has been a rough go of it for Gausman in his last two starts, as he’s allowed five runs in both. With that said, he had been on a pretty good run leading up to those starts and offers a solid strikeout rate, as well. The thing is, we have no shortage of high-quality arms throwing today and Gausman is in that second tier of options, but he’s priced pretty well.

Luis Cessa: I am not a huge fan of pitching guys against the Orioles in the first place, but especially when we have a ton of solid options on the board. It’s not that Cessa has been bad; it is more the fact that he is not likely to produce the numbers we are going to need from the position today.

Orioles: It has been a bit of a struggle over the past month or so for the Orioles, but this is a team that can mash on right-handed pitching, and the team ISO cannot be ignored as one of the highest-upside stacks on the board.

He is an arm I like more for tournaments today because the ownership should be pretty low with all of the studs taking the bump to finish the season.

It has been a year of decline for Felix, who honestly was supposed to do this about two or three years ago according to all of the season long guys producing contest. While this is the A’s and it is the last game of the season, I just do not have the confidence in him to produce a top-tier game that will be needed with guys like Scherzer and Sale available.

A’s: This is not a good lineup. Even though Hernandez is not a guy I trust today, it is more the fact that we have other options than my fear Oakland crushes him. Khris Davis is probably the only player I would roll out there with confidence unless you are building a risky stack.

Mariners: Seattle is sneaky good against left-handed pitching mainly in part to the fact that Gutierrez and Cruz smash them, but an overlooked fact is that both Cano and Seager more than hold their own against lefties, as well. Manaea has closed the season strong, so beware of that, but I cannot blame you for seeing that power in the middle of the lineup and taking a shot.

Brady Rodgers: This will be Rogers’s first major league start, which he earned after posting fantastic numbers in AAA this season. Rodgers has not looked good out of the bullpen for the Astros, but perhaps that was more nerves than anything. Even so, this is not the time to get cute unless we are building a team full of big salary hitters and pairing him with an ace on multiple pitcher sites. Outside of that scenario, we do not want to play him today.

Jhoulys Chacin: He appears to be one of the bigger boom-or-bust candidates on the day with decent strikeout potential facing the Astros, who could also plate some runs against him. The price on DraftKings is intriguing as a secondary pitcher, but even if we go that route, do not over-expose yourself to a pitcher like Chacin, who can be inconsistent.

Astros: This was supposed to be a playoff-caliber team for the year that really never got consistent with the bats. With that said, there is potential in the front end of this lineup to put up runs in bunches, and as such, they make for a decent tournament team today.

Angels: When your best attribute is the fact that you do not strike out a bunch, it means that we are not going to find a ton of fantasy value. Obviously Mike Trout is a stud and is in play every single night he plays, but outside of that, you want to stack to the top of the order with Los Angeles.

Kenta Maeda: I will be watching this game despite the fact that there will be football on. The main reason is that the Cardinals and Giants are fighting for the last wild card spot in the NL, and Maeda and company can do Saint Louis fans a solid and knock San Francisco off today. The good news is that Maeda is a great pitcher to have going for a team you need to win. The bad news is that the Giants also have a solid pitcher going. In terms of DFS, Maeda ranks near the top of this crowded position, and if you can find enough bats makes for an excellent secondary pitcher on multiple-pitcher sites.

Matt Moore: While I am hoping for a similar fate to what he had in his last start against the Dodgers, the reality is that Los Angeles struggles against lefties. This will likely be a pitcher duel today and you can make a case for both as complimentary plays on multiple-pitcher sites, especially with this discounted price on DK.

LA Dodgers
Dodgers: Los Angeles is flat out bad against left-handed pitching but the one thing they have going for them today is the fact that they roughed up Moore when they faced him a couple of weeks ago. I do not have a ton of faith in this offense to get things done, but guys like Seager and Puig are certainly playable.

Giants: San Francisco has been struggling at the plate over the last month or so, and Maeda is more than capable of shutting them down today. With that said, this is a game where they are fighting for their playoff lives, and I have no problems using a couple of their main hitters here and there.

Tom Koehler: It has been a rough finish to the season for Koehler, who is matched up against a tough Nationals squad, and it is even tougher when Scherzer is on the hill for them. I have no interest at all in Koehler on this slate, as the risk is just too high with little reward to be had, even on a good outing.

Nationals: Attacking Koehler with Washington bats seems like a good idea today. The front of the order is in play, but do not be surprised to see someone from the bottom come through with a decent performance, as well. We have to wait to see how the lineup shakes out, but this is a team I like a lot today.
