Duffy’s stellar season continues, as he now has a SIERA of 3.38 with his above average 26.9% strikeout rate. While his strikeouts have been down a bit recently, he still has a 25% strikeout rate over the last 30 days, while putting up just a 1.64 ERA during that span. The problem tonight is the matchup against the Red Sox, who rank third in wOBA against lefties. He is always a tournament play regardless of matchup, but the Red Sox make him a tougher sell tonight.

Price has been giving up runs this year (4.00 ERA), but his 24.2% strikeout rate always makes him a solid play. He is coming off one of his best starts of the season and now gets a solid matchup against the Royals, who are ranked 11th in wOBA and 14th in ISO against lefties. Price is a decent favorite today against this Royals squad that has been attackable with pitchers this season as opposed to in the last few years. He is a great play in all formats.
Batter Grind Down
Kansas City
Price has given up runs this year, but has also put up some solid performances. This Royals squad has one of the lowest projected totals of the entire day (3.68 runs), making them an easy offense to avoid.

While my shares of Duffy may not be a ton tonight, I don’t think I will have too many shares of this Red Sox offense either. They continue to be super expensive across the industry and should only be used for tournaments today against Duffy, who has kept batters from both sides of the plate under a .292 wOBA this year.

Hellickson has a decent ERA of 2.67 over the last 30 days, but his SIERA does continue to sit at 4+ on the season. His strikeout rate leaves a lot to be desired, and he is a monster underdog today against Thor and the Mets. He is not someone we need to be targeting in any formats.

Thor takes the mound as the top pitching option of the day. He is the biggest favorite on the day at -225 as he sports a 2.89 SIERA on the year with an elite 29.4% strikeout rate. He should mow through this Phillies offense who ranks in the bottom third of the league in many of the below categories and have the lowest projected run total of the day. Thor is in play in all formats today.

Hellickson is notorious for struggling against lefties, and that has continued this year, as he has allowed a .335 wOBA to them on the year. The Mets do not have a real high total but can be used for value high up in the order with guys like and if they continue to bat one and two.

He gets a great matchup against the Brewers, who rank in the bottom third of the league in wOBA and ISO against righties. Pittsburgh
While Pittsburgh only has the 12th-highest projected run total today, they are a great offense to target against Nelson who has allowed an ERA over seven runs over the last month of play. Nelson has been bad against batters from both sides of the plate, as he has allowed a wOBA of .341+ to both righties and lefties, putting the top five or six batters in play tonight.

Richard has been decent in his first two starts after spending the majority of the season in the bullpen. He has gone 11 total innings and allowed just two earned runs over those last two starts. He now gets a decent matchup against the Marlins, who rank 20th and 26th in wOBA and ISO respectively against lefties. With that said, he is still a very risky pitcher to use and his strikeout rate of just 14.6% on the year doesn’t allow for many or any mistakes.

San Diego
While Vegas doesn’t love the offense, the Padres really have one of the better matchups on the board today against Urena, who has allowed a wOBA of .378 to lefties and .300 to righties. The are a great offense to look for value from tonight.

Miranda is not exactly a top prospect and currently holds a 4.32 SIERA and 20.5% strikeout rate after three starts and five appearances this year. While the matchup is not terrible against the White Sox, who rank 21st in wOBA and 22th in ISO, he is still a decent underdog in a game with a 8.5 total, making him an easy avoid.

Quintana comes into this game with a 2.84 ERA and decent 21.6% strikeout rate. His SIERA of 4.00 shows some regression is in order soon, but he is a -165 favorite today against the Mariners who rank 18th in team wOBA against lefties. He is a decent play today, as he should get plenty of run support and should be in line for the win tonight.

Quintana has kept batters from both sides of the plate to a wOBA under .297 on the year. The Mariners have a low team total of 4.24, making them an offense to target some of the cheap righties that should be hitting higher up in the order than usual.
