Overall, Odorizzi has been a quality starter for the Rays on the year. Over the last 30 days, he has a 5.19 ERA (4.96 SIERA) to go along with a low 17.3 percent strikeout rate. The matchup is very tough today against a Rangers squad that is ranked 11th in wOBA and seventh in ISO against righties. I like Odorizzi, but not away from home and not in this matchup.

Lewis was always one of our favorite pitchers to stack against, yet injuries to him have not allowed us to stack away too often this year. He has been very bad in his return, as he has a 6.34 SIERA in three starts to go along with a low 15 percent strikeout rate. While the opponent is not too scary, Lewis is not someone to use tonight.
Batter Grind Down
Tampa Bay
Tampa gets a solid matchup against Lewis who has allowed a wOBA of around .300 to batters from both sides of the plate. They have the seventh-highest team total of the day, as they get a big ballpark boost in Texas tonight. They are in play in all formats.

The Rangers have the fourth-highest projected run total of the day, and that includes a game in Coors tonight. They are a solid offense to target, as many will be off of them today as Odorizzi has been decent this year. They are a great contrarian stack to those who will be on the Coors bats.

Peralta has been much improved over the last month of play. Over his last five starts, Peralta actually has a 3.48 SIERA (3.03 ERA) to go along with a solid 23.9 percent strikeout rate. While these numbers look great, he now gets to bring these talents into Coors Field, which Vegas thinks will be a major problem today, as the Rockies are huge favorites with a total of 12 runs.

Richard gets the start for the Padres, as they have to play in a major park downgrade for pitchers at Chase Field. Richard has been decent this year, as he has a 2.98 ERA in his eight starts this year. His SIERA shows some regression is in order as it sits a run and a half higher at 4.31. Combine that with his low 14.1 percent strikeout rate, making him a tough play tonight.

Bradley’s chart has a lot of yellow and red on it as he comes in with a high 5.15 ERA (4.50 SIERA). He does sport a decent 21.6 percent strikeout rate and now has a decent matchup against the Padres, who are ranked dead last in wOBA against righties and have the second-highest strikeout rate at 24.9 percent. He is a decent tournament play today, but with a lot of risk attached.

This game should be high-scoring according to Vegas as they have a 9.5 total set. The Padres have the tenth-highest projected run total at 4.60 runs. Attacking Bradley is a clear choice from the left side of the plate, where he has allowed a wOBA of .398 on the year, as opposed to a .292 wOBA allowed from the right side.

The Diamondbacks have the highest team total for a team that is not playing in Coors today. They have a 4.90 projected run total on the day against Richard, who has allowed a wOBA of 305+ from both sides of the plate. They are a great contrarian offense if you want to try to stack an offense not named the Rockies or Brewers.

McHugh has been solid over the last month, as he has put up a 2.57 ERA. His SIERA is a bit concerning at 4.48, but he has made up for it as he continues his decent strikeout rate of around 21 percent. He gets a matchup against the Angels, who are a below average offense but do strikeout at the lowest rate in the majors against righties. The lack of options puts McHugh in play tonight.

Skaggs is trying to find that form he had at one point this season where he pitched well and was striking batters out at an elite rate. That form looks to be back a bit, as he has a 3.46 SIERA over his last two starts along with a 30 percent strikeout rate. The matchup today is boom or bust, making him a solid tournament play at FD, while he is a bit expensive at DK.
