: If it were not for the higher price point, I would love Porcello as a secondary option today. He has been keeping the Red Sox in the game each start, and the wins are starting to add up as a result. Unfortunately, the strikeouts have been inconsistent, and that is the biggest worry here. Minnesota is starting to hit the ball much better, and while their overall numbers still rank in the bottom third of the league in the key categories, we had seen them much lower just a month ago. All things considered, he is a guy I like but will struggle to roster because of the salary.

Twins: It is no surprise that since the return of , we have seen a bit of a spark from this Twins lineup and specifically the guys hitting around him. Do not get me wrong – they are nowhere near a top-tier offense, but we can pick a couple hitters out here and there as fill in options. Overall, this is not a team you want to stack despite the offensive outburst yesterday, and I expect much less from them in this one.

Boston
Red Sox: By now we all know how good this Boston team is at hitting, and that it really does not matter if it is a lefty on the mound. There are not too many guys you would cross of your list from this lineup, and as such, we have plenty of room to stack the Red Sox today. It is no surprise to see them project this high as they have scored the most runs per game on the season.

: It is really refreshing to see Velasquez pitching so well again after coming off the DL. He is a clear top-tier starter on the day and someone you want to look at if the Orioles are scaring you off of Kluber. He saw his velocity spike in his last start, and the strikeout numbers are on par with what we have come to expect from the young ace in the making. He hits all of the check marks for a top-tier arm and this is someone you want exposure to today.

: He may not be striking out as many batters as we would have expected, but the walk rate is exceptional to this point. Taillon will get one of the best matchups that right-handed pitcher can ask for against this Phillies squad that is flat out bad. It is not often that I would suggest pitching two starters from the same game, but Taillon makes for one of the best secondary options on DraftKings today. As for his price on FanDuel, well you can fit in some mighty strong bats at that salary.

Pittsburgh
Pirates: This feels like an underperforming team on the season that I would expect to hit a bit better in the second half, barring health issues. With that said, I love the arm of Velasquez today, and Pittsburgh has been pretty weak at the plate lately. : After a pretty solid start to the season, we have seen a version of Friedrich that is flat out bad. His hard hit rate has climbed and the walks are far to common, and that, combined with a modest strikeout rate the numbers tell us to fade him here. The Nationals have mashed on left-handed pitching all season to make things worse for him.

: As one of the top prospects in baseball, this is a game to get right after a couple of rough starts. The Padres are one of the worst teams in the league against righties, and despite the poor numbers, Giolito is a solid secondary option on multiple pitcher sites today. He is not going to walk this many batters moving forward, and the strikeout rate should climb quite a bit as well. No better place for that to start than in this one.

Washington
Nationals: The Nats continue to be one of the best teams against southpaws on the season and come in with the highest ISO at .206 up to this point. When you consider the struggles that Friedrich has had this is an opportunity to get Washington bats in your lineup at a lower ownership with the Coors game going on. : The All-Star break looked like it did Lester well, as he pitched deep into the game against the Mets, limiting them to just one earned run. The issue has been a lack of strikeouts leading up to the break, and he only recorded three in his last start. Fortunately for Lester, these Brewers like to strike out as much as any team in the league against left-handed pitching at 24.2% on the season. All things considered, Lester has to be one of your top options, and I give him the slightest of edges over Velasquez if you are looking for a Kluber alternative.

: I do not even think the Brewers realized how good Guerra was going to be for them this season. Not only does he carry a higher strikeout rate, but he also consistently pitches deep into games, giving Milwaukee a chance to win. The Cubs are not a team I like to pick on with pitching because of their ability to put up runs in a hurry, but they do strike out quite a bit, which lowers that risk a bit. I like both sides of this equation for tournaments, as each has upside.

Chicago Cubs
Cubs: As I mentioned above, the Cubs make for a fantastic tournament play today. They have solid numbers on the year and the bats that can put up a bunch of runs but face a pitcher who has been tough at the same time. Your typical big names are in play, and if you are looking for value, I love at this price.

Milwaukee
Brewers: Milwaukee has a couple of bats who hit lefties hard, but overall, this is a lineup that just does not give me much confidence when rostering them. With taking the hill for Chicago, I want nothing to do with the Brewers outside of minimal Braun and Carter exposure.

: He flashed some upside against the Twins but do not let that fool you. There is a reason that Sanchez is not in the normal rotation anymore, and that is because his better days are behind him. The White Sox are not a great offense by any stretch of the imagination, but this would be a classic case of chasing points. The price is enticing but you really should not go there.

: In his last three starts, Quintana has three wins with sixteen strikeouts over nineteen innings pitched. The Tigers have been a lot worse against left-handed pitching than I expected coming into the season, and that makes him interesting until you see his price point today, which makes him a complete fade in my book. We have better options at or around his salary, and there is not need to push the envelope with Quintana.

Tigers: For a team that is stacked with lefty killers, the Tigers sure are average overall. While Quintana has been really good lately, I still think you can roll with some Detroit bats in this one and would even say I think they will outpace their projected run total in this one.
